Westside Cafe

Love the west side been going there for years very kind service last service and good helpings. Waitresses are friendly and fair. Priced really like this place will always go. I’ve been going there since I was 15 years old. Always had good service. Just missed the jukebox.

I was going to order a burger with a poutine but decided to just go with just a large bacon cheeseburger poutine. Boy, was i happy i did. There was more bacon & burger in the poutine than a separate burger. It was a mountain & it was absolutely delicious, too. The staff were friendly & super nice. We have gone back 3 times since, & we took family with. We'll be back again. If you want an excellent meal at a great price I suggest you stop there & give them a try. You won't regret it. Theres parking on the side, they serve breakfast all day, and you get real food (none of that pre made, warmed up rubber possessed fast food junk). And what's amazing is that it was cheaper than any of the fast food burger joints.

If you want to take the experience of a good poutine to another level this your place, westside cafe has been around for a lot of years,always offering super generous portions that going together with the taste and flavour, this old fashion cafe has a lot to offer if you are looking for a good Canadian meal experience!

If you're someone who enjoys a familiar atmosphere with friendly service and good food, this is where you want to be! The prices are great, and their portion sizes are perfect. On average, you might spend anywhere between $15-$50 depending on what you order, but trust me, you won't be disappointed. The staff are friendly, and the service is quick, and unlike other places, the staff aren't trying to rush you out the door.

For a little whole in the wall cafe, this place is a diamond in the rough. Food was quite good and has huge portions.. wait staff was second to none…..

The best 24 hour restaurant this side of the river....... great food, service and often comical entertainment!

This is a great place to go if you're looking for a locally owned place with home cooked meal. The prices are great and the service is always lovely.

Great for a quick and cheap breakfast in SSM. I tried the western omelette with home fries. Recommend but will try other items next time.

Friendly staff and diner atmosphere.

Amazing little place run by good people. Food was good with decent price & large potions. There is a decent size parking lot next to it & the biggest draw is the extended hours the place offers. Try their specials, you won't be disappointed

Amazing little dive. I recommend if your looking for something to eat that's not fast food. You also need to try the pie. Do not pass on the pie.

This is one of my favorite restaurants of all times 😍 we have never had a bad experience here it's an excellent place for any time of the day breakfast lunch or supper.. I love the different varieties of Putin's you can get here (different toppings) the service is wonderful ❤ this restaurant has that old Ma and PAtype feeling.. we will definitely keep coming back.

Let me start by saying this was the best food we had in Sault Ste. Marie. Some of the best breakfast food I’ve had in a long time.
So let me break it down:

Food: 10/10
Firstly, the home fries were cut up BY HAND and were literally the best ones I’ve ever had.
I had pancakes, swapped out bacon for fried bologna, and eggs. My husband had a cheese omelet, home fires, and wheat toast. We were both in pain by the time we left. Made the mediocre and overpriced food we’ve had this weekend worth it. If they served alcoholic beverages we would’ve been there morning noon and night.

Service: 10/10
Heather and Lisa were the two on the floor and they again, gave me some of the best customer service I’ve had probably ever. I would say this was the best service I’ve had because it was thanksgiving, a full house, and they were ringing people out as well as answering the phone. With amazing attitude I might add. I probably would’ve passed out if I ever got service on a holiday like that in the states. Let be real. It ain’t happening.

Atmosphere: 7/10
This is a “mom and pop” restaurant so I didn’t expect much for decor. That being said, it felt very homey and we were comfortable.

If you’re looking for something equivalent of what your mom would make on a holiday full of family members, go here. We felt invited, didn’t feel intrusive, and she left us alone to eat instead of checking in every 5 minutes.

Anytime we visit, I’m going here. It’s definitely worth it.

Amazing old school diner that is open 24 hours - we're from out of town and for some reason all the SSM restaurants close ridiculously early. We were super grateful they were open at 9. Anyways the bacon poutine was amazing and the chicken was really good too. Plus it's got real old school diner charm. Would not hesitate to eat here again.

Stopped in with the family. I got a medium Poutine and it was giant and wonderful!

Easy walking distance from the customs compound. Not much to look at from the outside but the inside is clean and comes with a hilarious cook and savy waitress. They'll make you feel right at home. The portions of food are generous and at fair prices. If you don't have time to eat in ,they can fix you something to go.

Lovely service and solid mom and pop diner food. Fish was fresh and nicely fried, and portions were more than generous.

Great place for basic diner food. Great service
