Nakato Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar

Nakato never disappoints, and every time I've visited the food has always been spot on. Service is almost always on point with exception to some of their busiest nights, but really it's hard to fault them because I never see anyone slacking. They're always rushing around when they're busy.
You will spend more money here than some other establishments in town, but then again, you can refer to my opening statement as to why.
I've been coming here for over 20yrs and this restaurant is nothing if not consistent.
If I had to be critical I would say there could be some updating done here and there, but one thing I never want to see go away is their "family style" dining area. I've been to a lot of these restaurants across the US and I've never seen this anywhere else. It is one VERY unique feature that this restaurant has that I absolutely love!

What a fun hibachi experience with excellent food! We had such a fun time with our kids and highly recommend this!

We went before 6pm so we were able to get the early bird special which is great and a bit cheaper. The chicken & steak is great! The fried rice is a $2 up charge which seems silly since it’s all high priced anyways.

Everything here was awesome! The food was so yummy and you get soup and salad too! The drink menu is very reasonably priced. I had the Toki Highball! Very delish.

A must visit when coming to Springfield, or if you live here… whatever! Just try it out!

Loved this! I’m a picky eater and would never eat Asian cuisine on my own. Our group wanted to go and our chef was very accommodating with finding me food I would eat. Would definitely experience this again!

Lunch was good portion at a nice price. The quality of ingredients (sushi & hibachi) were excellent. Crowded family style seating lost them a star and our chef was VERY NEW! I'm sure he'll get better!

We went for our anniversary and Tim (the cook) was absolutely wonderful! 10 stars for Tim, if we could! 1.5 hr wait on a Saturday at 5pm was worth it! Loved every second! They have a full bar while you wait!" So good!

We went here with our daughter and her husband and our two grandkids (3 and 6). The 3 year old was a bit apprehensive when she saw the fire at other tables, but when our chef started cooking she decided she liked it. Everything was delicious, great service, and a good price. We all enjoyed it.

Got there around dinner time, worried we might have to wait 30min-1hr. Was busy, but we was seated less than 10min. Food was very good and service was great! First time going and I’ll definitely be back

Nakato is always a fun hibachi experience! We went here for Mother's Day and really enjoyed it. Pictured are the Yakatori chicken, Crunchy roll, and Mahi-Mahi/Shrimp dinner.

Not sure how I have never reviewed Nakato before. We have eaten here dozens of times over the years. In our family, everyone gets to pick a special dinner on their birthday. Nakato is the answer literally 80% of the time. I zero bad to say about it. Excellent service and outstanding food. Not to mention a fun show at the hibachi. Nakato's Delight is our favorite choice, and the sushi is the best quality in the city.

I'll definitely come back. Next time I'll sit at the sushi bar. Loved the hibachi but the sushi bar looks more relaxed. Food was delicious and the staff were great. My drink was always full.

Great experience! Food and service was top notch from bartender, waitress and chef throughout our entire experience!

This is our sons favorite place. When he comes home, this place is on the list of things to do.
Had excellent experience this time. They graciously handled requirements to accommodate a food allergy concern without making a hassle or drawing unwanted attention. The wait staff and chef were very nice. Will definitely be back

Wowsa! Best sushi I've had in a long, long time. The wife and I ordered 5 different types of rolls and only ate at the sushi bar, not the hibachi. It was amazing! And the sushi chefs were awesome to talk with!

My first experience! So delicious!!! I had the Hibachi Chicken & hubby had Scallops & Steak although his was gone before I snapped a picture 😶 They do the fun onion volcano & make sure everything is doused in irresistible sauces!! Tried both & both were cooked to perfection.

We always eat here when we visit Springfield! You get a large amount of delicious food! I always get chicken, you get a soup, salad, shrimp appetizer, noodles, veggies and rice! We ordered the Jenni Roll for our sushi order that we split. The spicy crab on top of the roll was so good. As always we had a to go box. I would highly recommend that you call ahead and get reservations because they are always busy and are normally only opened for dinner.

Took my family for the first time, got seated right away. Foood was really good, service was good. Definitely going back.

Service was awesome. Guy cooking at our table did an outstanding job . It was my husband's birthday and he had a good eating here.

I have to admit that I am consistently impressed with this restaurant even after all these years! I would recommend making a reservation because the food is so good that you will wait if you walk in! But it is always worth the wait!!

Absolutely wonderful! We had a great chef and the food was great. The chef was engaging and got everyone at the table to start talking. Had a great time and will definitely be back!

First time I have been to this hibachi grill I was told by the people I went with that it was great sushi and hibachi. Since we sat at a grill top I went ahead and ordered a hibachi meal with the price for the amount of food amazing. Also got nigiri as an appetiser taste fresh and good. Not sure if I’ll be in Springfield again but I would defiantly come back to just try there sushi. With a very unique atmosphere of sitting at a sushi boat chain, or a hibachi grill top, or I saw they even had traditional seating also. Really enjoyable and not overpriced like some hibachi gills are. They seem to be busy and popular so suggest making reservation.
