Lucille's American Cafe

From start to finish, this place was fantastic! We had a large group for dinner and they quickly accommodated us. The service was top notch, food was DELICIOUS and the owner made sure we were well cared for the whole time. The mid century decor and atmosphere is so welcoming and cute without being overwhelming or overstimulating. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would!!! We live out of state but we will absolutely go out of our way on any trips in the future to make sure we can stop at Lucille’s!!!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Lucille's. The staff was great and very understanding and helpful towards our three young kids. Our food was hot and fresh, and each meal was delicious. My wife had the blackened brie chicken sandwich with sweet potato strips, our kids had the Mac & Cheese (much higher quality than Kraft), and I had the Chicken Rockefeller. If we didn't live so far away, we would definitely visit again!

First time dining at Lucille’s and had a great meal. Nice atmosphere and decor. Indoor and outdoor seating. Service was quick and our server was polite and upbeat.
Had the Guillian Pear and Goat Cheese salad with grilled portobello mushroom. Delish! My hubs had the Greek Salad with blackened chicken and liked it very much. Good flavors!
We will try breakfast when we return.

01/01/24 Lunch. We shared a bowl of their famous tomatoe blue cheese soup that was very creamy and had blue cheese sprinkles on top. Hot and tasty! Then we shared the Macadamia Chicken entrée. 2 chicken cutlets with a sweet Macadamia sauce on top. They used quality ingredients, and the entrée in my opinion, was excellent. It was a little too sweet for my wife, but she doesn't like sweet and savory flavors mixed together. The mash potatoes were just like you would want them. Dense, creamy, and buttery. And the grilled veggies were charred so good, yet still flavorful. They weren't overcooked.

Now, onto the best part of our meal. Until now, the best peach pie we ever had was at a diner in Lancaster, PA, back in 2020. The peach pie we had today is officially the best we've ever had. Wonderfully flaky crust, in each bite, you could taste real peaches. Not much, if any added sugar. The pie wasn't sweet. It was all about peach flavor and the flaky crust. The ice cream was a good complement to the pie. We tried to buy a pie to take home but they were out. They recommended calling ahead to reserve one. A good idea.

We had an excellent 5-star meal. The server, Amanda, was as professional and helpful as the food was good. She helped make lunch a great experience. And the bathrooms were clean!

Fair: Below par. Dirty smells. & / or flies.

So retro it's modern.

Diner classic food but from scratch and upscale and top quality. The price is good too.

They have dinner specials everyday that are worth checking out.

Their three cheese mac and cheese is some of the creamiest I've had in a restaurant.

Potato soup is delicious and rich.

Their chili just perfectly spiced with cumin and so much more.

I love their homemade ketchup with potato chips. It's delicious.

The servers here have always been super friendly, too.

The decor here is retro in design but very new looking at the same time.

What a pleasant surprise! It looks so nice inside and outside! Our food was delicious! I will attach pics of the food. Gina was our server and she was fantastic! Will definitely be going back!

Wow! This will be a new go to spot for me! Everything here is A++ from the food, to the staff. The inside is so cute and has a cool retro vibe. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by the sweetest staff and our server, Michelle, was the best! They have different specials everyday and today, I tried the pot roast which was fabulous. They have a variety of craft cocktails which were delicious and very well presented. Super clean too!

The place had excellent service delicious meals and salads. They had delicious drinks and the prices very reasonable. They had cool decor inside and out. It was a great place to catch late night dinners.

I'm new to Winter Haven, and after seeing this restaurant in a YouTube video I decided to visit. I am so glad I did. Our server Sammy was awesome! The recommendations Sammy gave were on point. Our food and drinks came out very quickly and was well presented. Everyone in my family was able to find something on the menu to fit their personal taste. There are enough items to end the "well what do you want to eat" exchange every family has but not so many that you get overwhelmed.

Went to Lucille's today for lunch we were able to park right out front so that was nice.
There were six of us at our table.
We started off with a potato skin appetizers and those were really good.
Our waiter, Logan, told us about the specials for today I guess they had just started serving the fish sandwich on Friday,so I ordered that, it came with fries and the meal was so good.
The seasoning on their fries was a little different from what I'm used to and I really liked it.
The fish sandwich was a large portion and the bun that it came on was good also.
My wife got the BLT sandwich she really liked it.
And for dessert everyone tried one of these, peach pie à la mode, carrot cake or bread pudding à la mode.
Everyone really enjoyed the desserts.
Some of the artwork on the walls really told of Florida history in the area. This is a very clean and well taken care of establishment I would definitely recommend this place and we will be going back soon.

Very enjoyable, I'll go again. The meatloaf was tasty and the food was seasoned well. The coleslaw was very good. The gravy was very good,. but if you have mushroom allergies it's not for you. The mashed potatoes were well seasoned too, that is unusual. I highly recommend it.

Had the Wednesday special. A chicken Philly sandwich. Very friendly, clean, great atmosphere, and excellent food. Member of the clean plate club. On my list of places, I will be revisiting.

We stopped here as we were shopping at different antique stores in town. It was great!! The food was really good. I tried the pink drink and it was so good! It was sweet and refreshing on a warm day! I would highly recommend stopping by and eating here. All the food is made from scratch and the sauces are also all made from scratch. If you get sweet potato fries you MUST get the marshmallow to dip them in!!! I loved the MCM vibe and the staff was kind and friendly!

An American Diner located in Downtown Winter Haven. Staff was super attentive. Seating was offered both indoors and out doors. Having arrived during a rainstorm wife and I decided to sit outside so as to not be under a/c while wet. Wind shifted and both our table and another table moved inside. Our amazing waitress Lanie quickly moved both tables and also got that section of the restraunt. Heated for us.

Lanie upon initial greeting confirmed my first time and gave what I am sure is required information about their local sourcing from nearby businesses like the microbrewery down the road for their craft beers. And required though it may have been it was said with a true passion and enthusiasm and belief in the supportive nature of local business and creating a neighborhood of business. During the entire service Lanie was always attentive warm friendly and welcoming without ever hovering. Rest of staff was busy but having fun. Their was a sense of camaderie and pride in their work that was clear to be read across all staff. Management doing proper checks on customer happiness and even gladly and secretly do small quiet bussing. (Yes sir I saw you and I hope your staff knows and respects that you do that stuff it's a rare thing in modern days)

The craft cocktails were cleverly named my wife having a pink lady...edit pretty sure it was pretty in pink not pink lady whatever it was yummy) and I believe my was gives me butterflies in tummy. They deserve 6 stats truth be told. Beautiful presentation top shelf spirits and perfect price point it is rare to find someone offering these types of cocktails even in a major metropolitan area that can nail all 3. In all serious hats off to who wrote the bar menu, trained that staff, and priced them drinks.

Food was classic American comfort been craving just good proper chicken tenders now and they lived up to it. Fried to just the right temperature with a good consistent batter. House BBQ sauce was sweet with a nice kick i look forward to coming back another Saturday and trying the BBQ plate. As well as giving that gimme s'more desert a shot.

Price point overall I would compare to a chili's, outback, red lobster what have you but given the dining expierence and it being a local business if that is your price point for a dinner you would be much better served in both quality of food and atmosphere by going to Lucille's instead.

Everything was fantastic! My tomato bleu cheese soup was wonderful...the macadamia chicken was awesome! My friends loved their food. We drove about an hour to get there.... went for my birthday celebration and will return. Our server, Joey, was 5 stars. The whole experience was fantastic!

Amazing food and service! This is the place for lunch, brunch or dinner! This time my friend and I shared the tuna salad sandwich and the blackened chicken brie sandwich! Not pictured, but we also shared a slice of. blueberry pie which was life changing! Cora was our server! She was sweet, kind and attentive! She didn't hesitate to make great recommendations and share her favorite things on the menu! Awesome family owned place in Winter Haven!

10 star. Tomato soup and blue cheese crumbles out of this world. Also we had the pear salad. Tom the manager stopped by and Michelle our waitress she is amazing.
PS we also split the bread pudding.

Best restaurant and dining experience we have had in a long time. Our server Jordan was exceptional, best service we have had in nothing short of a year. The food was amazing, nothing we had was bad, so order with confidence whatever your heart desires!
The Lucille Sandwich, with a side of chili cheese fries. Sandwich was great, the chili out of this world. We got a cup Togo! Homemade bread pudding was my favorite, the bourbon sauce 💯. I don’t know what needs to happen, but we need more of this place across the state!

My new favorite spot!! Great food, great drinks and impeccable service. Thanks to our server Sammy our first experience at Lucille’s was amazing. We will definitely be back.

This place is really cool! They make everything fresh, they get their coffee from a local shop and I'm not a connoisseur but my wife is and she gave me some of hers, when we left we went to the shop and bought some 👍. Lucille's also has a full bar and they have craft beers from the local brewery. The food was great, the staff were great, and the atmosphere was great!! We live about 90 minutes away but we will be back 😀👍!
