Semilla was so good I had to come back two days in a row during a 3 days vacation. One of the highlights of my stay in Hartford. I can’t recommend this place enough. Elijah was awesome and we can’t wait to come back 🫶🏽 - (get the coconut latte and thank me later)

This spot is a hidden gem. So many great records. It’s nice having a record shop in my neighborhood. This place has connected some many great people for the community. I’ve rented this space and created so many new experiences. Also the coconut latte goes hard.

My son and his father’s cousin is the co-owner of this beautiful cafe. Let me start off by saying, we’re from a part of PA that has little to no culture, so while we were visiting family for the holidays I wanted to experience as much as we could, including supporting Semilla Cafe, which celebrates black and brown cultures. The atmosphere was filled with amazing vibes, and great coffee. I highly recommend the coconut latte, the most smooth and delicious latte I’ve ever had the pleasure of trying, my son had the ovaltine hot chocolate, and drank every last sip. I also tried their newest drink, The Mookie, and it was to die for. The service, coffee, and vibes were immaculate, and I can’t wait to stop in on our next trip to CT. If you’re looking to support your local black owned businesses, and enjoy an affordable, delicious hand-crafted drink, this is your place to go! It’s in an amazing location, and you won’t be disappointed if you stop by. Let me not forget the ALL gender inclusive bathrooms… this place does not miss!!✨

Every single time my boyfriend and I go to this cafe we leave with such big smiles on our faces! I’m not from around here, so it’s definitely an additional treat for when I come to visit him during the week. The people running the show are always very pleasant and sweet to speak to, and it’s such an interesting and knowledgeable place to sit and enjoy tasty drinks and foods. I love coming here and can’t wait to see them develop new flavors and promote new artists. What a place to be!! We love you guys!!

Excellent vibes and great tea and International coffee. Merch from local businesses and classics on vinyl. Love the co-working energy from entrepreneurs who are the usuals. Support Semilla’s!

Good Coffee at a good price ,nice comfortable lounging chairs and couches to sit on And browse the Internet .//meet up at ; ) etc. outdoor seating available I recommend this establishment; it’s where to be at in Hartford Connecticut ; I like this place and recommend it to others. Our favorite cafe for when we are visiting CT. The staff is amazing and the place is community-driven. You can get your fancy latte or you can get a classic Bustelo cafecito. They make sure to include everyone on the menu. Excellent coffee, great food, and overall wonderful space.

Nice cafe to grab a quick bite and coffee. Loved the coffee and the banana bread and the blueberry tart. The ambience is good .

Top latte and drinks in the city, cozy living room feel, awesome staff, and a great selection of records and artisan crafts. What more can one ask for in a coffee shop?

The coffee here is amazing, we always come back when we visit our friend in Connecticut! I love the cafe miel in particular!

semilla is truly 1 of 1! from the cozy living room atmosphere to the quality craft beverages, I can’t recommend them highly enough. I would be remiss to leave out the restrooms - the walls are custom painted, they’re always clean and smell good, and overall they put the “rest” in restroom. 10/10!

What a great place!! Delicious coconut latte, phenomenal banana bread! They have a space where they feature goods from other makers. Always love seeing local supporting local. I can’t wait to go back and try more from their menu.

Great food, great coffee, great music.

The owner and staff were extremely kind, and offered great explanations for the menu items. The coffee was fantastic, and had both “standard” and interesting options. I stayed and worked for a few hours, and was easily able to get access to a power outlet and they had good wifi. The soundtrack was on point the entire time as an added bonus!

I’ve only stopped in one time before this review and because I’m rarely in the area I don’t see myself coming in often. However this is a place I expect to check out when I’m around because it has such a great vibe, good coffee, and amazing service. They are true to their brand, advertising themselves as the neighborhood living room. It’s very much that and I highly recommend coming here to meet with a friend, get some work done, or just to hang out and have a drink. It’s so cozy and peaceful. I wish I lived closer.

Honestly, I took a chance on this cafe. I was walking around Hartford, trying to get my footing, see about networking, etc. I was not disappointed!!! I only had the cold tea dining in, but the experience itself was comfortable. It is chill, the employees are courteous, and it did not feel like I was in the city. Amazing job!!

First time visit. Very friendly vibe and loved that it was Black-owned. Chill background music. My kind of place.

My mom and I like to check out locally owned coffee shops around central CT and Semilla easily holds a top spot. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable, there’s even vinyl DJ! And of course, the most important aspect, GREAT coffee. Absolutely delicious! I highly recommend supporting this locally black-owned coffee shop.
