Very cool candy store that's been around for 135 years. They have a couple of neat stores attached to it as well. In the lower portion of the 1 is where they make the candy. If you sn imagine it, they have it. Huge selection of chocolate and also flavors of the month. It's a very old place well maintained like stepping back in time. I loved it.

Also, upstairs, they have a sandwich place for lunch that was very cool

We decided to try out Donckers because the name was very distinctive. The shop has an early twentieth century feel, with the shop portion displaying items in every nook and cranny. An amazing array of candies and chocolates are on sale, and appear to be made onsite. We put our name on the list for seating upstairs and within about 10 minutes we were seated. Everyone was very friendly and nice. We ordered burgers and an order of mac and cheese. I had the firecracker burger, and it was a great combo of flavors. I personally did not feel like it was spicy, but then I also eat very spicy foods daily. My son had a bacon cheeseburger and pronounced it excellent. My other son was not a fan of the mac and cheese, which was a shame. The ambience, food and people here guaranteed that we'll be back!

Great little shop that offers all kinds of chocolates, candies, and sweets. I bought a bag of carmels that were delicious. I believe they also offer food but we didn't get anything while we were here.

Went here casually for a brunch and were really surprised with good food, great service and an awesome time.
A must-stop-at for anyone visiting Marquette. Candy selection is huge and fudge is made on site.Old-fashioned soda fountain on first floor, great restaurant upstairs. Farm to table selections on menu. Very clean, welcoming and comfy atmosphere, efficient employees. Lovely historic building. Family-operated business, where the friendly owners are seen regularly, hard at work.

I came here this morning for a business meeting as a first-time Donckers customer. What a great experience! This is a hometown favorite with a retro feel. Easy to find on Washington in downtown Marquette either by parking in front or in the rear. The street floor has a charming old-time soda fountain with lots of candies, perfect for the kids. The upper floor is designed as a retro-style diner with a 1950s feel. The food was excellent, as was the service. I met the owner Tom briefly, and he is a true class act. He has a firm handshake and a warm, welcoming smile. They have very neat loyalty program where you have a rock artfully designed with an assigned number, that you can use, at each visit. Overall a great place for friends, family, and food!

We ate breakfast here after staying the night in Marquette on the way to Munising. Very good food. Lots of great vegan options. I had the Abbey Road breakfast burrito, my husband had the Trailhead omelette and my daughter had a breakfast plate with eggs, bacon and hash browns. It was all freshly prepared and delicious! I wish we had tried the orange juice that is fresh squeezed because the ladies at the next table raved about it.
This place is quaint and they use solar energy which I respect. We sat in the smaller back room and the windows were open so there was a nice breeze coming in.
They sell chocolate truffles and other treats at the soda fountain downstairs- we got some tiramisu and caramel truffles and some of the sea salt caramels which were all very good!!
Highly recommend this place for breakfast and a treat.

Everything was fantastic! Staff were all wearing masks and the restaurant was relatively clean. I had the mac and cheese on the specialty menu, called the Mac attack. My partner had a turkey sandwich. Both were marvelous! You have to walk through a candy store to get into the restaurant, so we couldn't not buy chocolates on the way out ☺

This place is awesome!!! 125 YEARS OLD and has stayed true to its authentic candy counter and restaurant style. We've made it a tradition to go on the first day of school for breakfast and love the lunches. Great Food!!!

Owners "Jen & Tom" are the best, both as owners and in our community!!!

Great family establishment! Love going here every time we go to to Marquette. Love the environment, family, staff, and offerings. Whether your craving salty or sweet, they've got you covered! Bucket list worthy when you are in town. They also own the Delft if that tickles your fancy too!

Great little spot! REALLY good food with plenty for the vegan/vegetarian and the carnivore to choose from, as well as gluten free options.

We went for dinner but they have an awesome breakfast menu too. Staff was very sweet!

We will definitely eat here again when we are in Marquette!

Donker's serves excellent food from fresh ingredients. Located above a candy and curio shop, the restaurant has ample seating across the second floor. You order at the counter and you are given a numbered rock for your table. I had the tuna melt and it was excellent.

Loved the ambience and look of this candy store & restaurant. All of the booths had carvings from customers which I thought was nostalgically charming. The candy selection here was incredibly vast and almost left me speechless when it came to deciding what goodies to purchase! Every staff member was very helpful as well as friendly. We will return in future when visiting Marquette.

Great local place with a real history behind it. The owners care about where they started from and are happy to tell you about it. The food was very good and very creative. They had ever changing daily lunch specials which were always unique. We ended up eating either breakfast or lunch here at least 3 times during our week stay in Marquette and stopped by the first floor candy shop more times than that just to grab a hand full of treats for the day. They also have a soda fountain and ice cream as well. A really great place and a must stop for anyone visiting Marquette.

I stumbled upon Donckers while looking for a nice breakfast place. While I missed breakfast at Donckers, their lunch did not disappoint. Their staff is friendly, food is relatively inexpensive, and the atmosphere is wonderfully simple. The place was rather full but there is more than enough seating especially with the gorgeous patio seating. Food was delicious, with some of the best homemade pickles I've tasted. There's enough variety with a large amount of vegetarian options which shouldn't ever disappoint.
