What an interesting place! We went the first weekend of October. It's not a time to swim however, great time to explore. We had so much fan scrambling over rocks, looking at the little pools, and watching the waves. Great place to enjoy nature!

This was our first time visiting the UP and Black Rocks is a must! It is absolutely amazing! Perfect spot to spend the day with family. Pack a picnic lunch. They have some nice picnic shelters in the park. My family had tons of fun jumping off the tall cliffs into beautiful crystal clear water.

This is an awesome place to explore. No dogs allowed. The gate to drive to the black rocks area is only open at certain times of the day. So be sure to plan accordingly or you will have to walk quite a ways.

Going back to this place in the summer. Took the kiddo and he loved it. Beautiful scenery.

Jumping off of the cliffs into Lake Superior was one of the favorite memories from our trip to the U.P.! The road around the coast is one way and the best place to park for this activity is a hard right turn that sneaks up on you. If you miss it like I did, there is another lot just past it. Be prepared for COLD water and what it does to your body/breathing. My 12 year old son jumped, but I almost jumped in to help him when I saw the shock and confusion on his face when he came to the surface. Obviously the coast is beautiful, and in hindsight I wish we would have had more time to spend here. Next year it will be a major part of our planning. Jump Safely!

Absolutely amazing! These rocks are over 2 billion years old, the oldest in the history of planet earth. A wonderful spot to spend the day jumping off the rocks into 20 feet of crystal clear water. Visit Monday through Friday, because the one-way road is closed to vehicular traffic on Saturday and Sunday.

We are here on a windy, chilly August day. Good for photos. Great park with trails that follow the water's edge. There's a one-way driving route with stupid along the way, but it has restricted hours; walking is better and more scenic anyways.

Today was our first time visiting. The road has been closed on previous visits. Absolutely stunning location. The U.P. is such a great place to visit and witness so many beautiful places. This being one.

We stopped in here as we were in the area for the day. I wish we would have had more time to spend here as the rock out croppings were neat to walk on. I was only able to explore a small area as time was against me. Parking was limited by the rocks themselves, so I would suggest getting there early.

The UP is our favorite place and we had saved visiting Presque Isles Park and the Black Rock shoreline until our wedding day. It is a must see if you are in Marquette. Highly recommend going during the magical hour right before sunset. Several tucked away, beautiful overlooks.

We went off season on a Sunday afternoon. Heard it can be hard to park and yes parking lot is small. Place looks like it should be in California or Hawaii not Michigan. Was really awesome views. No one was jumping due to how cold water was and big waves but I guess it's best in August since that's when water will be warmest for the year. Cliffs are maybe 20ft from water in spots. Was still pretty busy for off season but just enough for atmosphere and not too crowded.

This is a must do when in the area. I would highly recommend to visit during sunset time (if possible on a clear day)
There are 2 different parking spaces near the rocks and the walk is very short but need to be a bit careful on the rocks!

Amazing spot to grab a Togo's and eat it on the rocks. Spent many afternoons here growing up. A great spot for a cliff jump and a brisk swim. Becarful on your walk on the rocks, be sure footed and enjoy the experience.

What a amazing place to visit, to be able to see and walk on and enjoy nature. Simply to take it all in was FANTASTIC. Sometimes it is nice to see the simpler things in life and this is it. Check it out and you won't be disappointed.

Windy, chilly day that made for some great photos. Found a few agates and enjoyed views we don't get to see at home. Go check it out!

We had our 27 foot camper behind us so we parked a ways up because we weren't sure about turning around. For anyone needing to know if you can haul your camper through there, the answer is yes. It's one way through the park and back toward Lakeshore Blvd.

Must visit place! Was a cloudy and cold day but still beautiful place to stop by and spend some time. Pik nik tables, grills, gazebo they have it all...not too many parking spots but during the week was easy to park.

Very cool experience. If you like to hangout in the sun, shade, near the water, swim, hike, or jump off cliffs…this is the spot for you and the whole family.
