The original Peet's has a bit more to offer than just great coffee. Lots of photos from Pete and his early years.

This Pete's is a diamond in the rough. It is located on Vine street in Berkeley. It allows you to find a park easily, and they're open.5:30am most days of the week. It is quite unusual to find someone at that hour to be cheerful, and to ensure your order is correct.. This is what you can expect when you go there. Service with a smile. Please keep this location in business. It is a delightful spot, which needs to be recognized. Please support and enjoy. Thanks!

This is the original store which houses a 40' long Peet's/Coffee Museum!!! In the final outcome, since I believe that Peet's (the original of this genre) and SB both train their employees on great customer service, the main difference is that Peet's does not scoop out the foamy head like SB does, and probably uses a slightly better array of ingredients.
Baked goods at Peet's, however, are vastly superior... Then walk over and get a falafel sandwich (with extra napkins) at Mediterranean Grill, or Saul's, both with their own succulent takes on this savory classic...and a short walk away...

Peets is the best! I was so happy to walk into the original Peets. They are very original and authentic, and by that I mean that they do not sell hot food only pastries for any of those who are wondering. During my visit today the cashier was very kind and informative. I felt very welcomed.

Walnut Square original Peets in Berkeley. Don't miss the museum in the back hall. Starbucks founders learned from Alfred Peet before starting Starbucks in Seattle.

Great people serving good, hot coffee drinks and a nice variety of beans. The little museum by the bathrooms is fun to look at. Sit outside and enjoy people watching while sipping your drink.

My favourite Peet’s location. Large, clean, nice staff, 2 bathroom stalls.

I'm a big fan of Peet's! The location on Vine St has become my go-to spot for a morning pick-me-up on my way to work since I moved to Berkeley. Imagine my excitement when I discovered that this shop was actually the first Peet's location ever opened in the country! The history behind the brand adds to the experience of sipping on their delicious coffee. Don't miss out on a chance to visit this iconic spot and enjoy some top-notch coffee.

OMG, the first Peet's! Just randomly found this in the middle of the neighborhood. So much nicer than the first Starbucks in Pike Place. And of course everything was delicious

The first Peet’s. I get coffee here quite often and they’re always fairly fast.

It's the OG Peet's. It doesn't have the fancy bells and whistles of other locations but the history.... The old bench.... The staff that have been around for years.... The regulars. It's iconic. Pro tip: walk down to Cheeseboard and get a superior pastry to go with your strong coffee.

I love the museum section and the caffeine pub atmosphere. A home away from home. Also, no swarms of tourist here like Starbucks in Pike Place Market:)

Very friendly, especially the last with the red curly hair, she was also doing a great job teaching a new guy what to do, she was patient and kind.

Cutest Peets Coffee I've been to. Love the venue, setting in an old grocer? Even have a guest book! Coffee as expected.

I love Peet's Coffee, because of it's bold and strong coffee. It's a liquid guarantee that you'll be vibrantly awakened, without worrying about the flavor of your particular flavor of coffee.

There's no bitter or burnt aftertaste and I love the selections of creamers and sweetener choices.

The app gives you the ability to check in and get a free drink after 15 check ins.

Yes, I'm very satisfied!

Original Peet's location.. I like taking out of town friends here, but I especially like coming here & sitting outside to enjoy my drink & read.. It's always busy (sometimes it's hard to find a place to sit) & the staff is still super friendly. It's got a nice unhurried "I can finally relax!" neighborhood feel you don't get at the downtown location..
