Rare to see such great vegetarian options! Loved the food and the atmosphere of the restaurant. The owners were very attentive and it was clear that they put a lot of care into the meal. The dumplings I ordered were full of flavor. I found myself savoring every bite. I was a little disappointed when I finished my entire plate because I knew I wanted more. The portion was perfect though and I managed to fill up and feel great and energized after the meal.

Highly recommend!

Calming, humble space. The owner was attentive and served us cookies she made earlier in celebration of Lunar New Year. :) Would certainly return.

We enjoyed the wood-ear noodles and Jasha-shedre (a chicken curry soup) with madagascar pink rice. More than enough for two people! We finished off with Dresy, which is a sweetened rice dessert that is traditionally used in ceremonies. Delicious!

Absolutely delicious, traditional and wonderful food. Different from the usual places and mediocre tastes.

Dholooma Kamngoe is a breaded eggplant chips lightly deep fried snack. Very soft, different from usual fried stuff and awesome taste. You must check it out.

Tsel-Khasa is a seasoned vegetables freely more like a Curry than a snack.

Tingmo is a homemade steamed Tibean bread that is so delicious. Definitely not your usual bread for sure.

The Momo's, Ngotsel Momo and Kar-sha Momo, are very good - a bit on the raw side - but if you are a fan them you just can't pass it up.

The entry, Tofu with Mushroom and Spinach, is very good, tasty and not something that I ever had before. Ended up taking it home as well.

The traditional desserts, Bhaktsa Marku and Dress, are not too sweet and very much for of fresh tastes all over.

It is good to know they don't use powders, pre made or frozen items. They use every thing fresh and made by themselves from raw food materials - including the spices themselves. Very refreshing and mouthful of tastes is what we walked out with.

Quiet little Tibet / Himalayan cuisine. Friendly and beautiful place. Food was good and tasty. Reasonably priced and good portion size. Lot of Vegetarian / Vegan options available.

With 20 years of history, cafe Tibet is a true gem. The owners were super friendly and prepared the food with love. The atmosphere felt like home (so don’t come to eat with a rush). Lentil soup was warm and comforting, and vegetarian momo soup was colorful with such a variety of vegetables. The melted cheese inside the momo was such a pleasant surprise.

Cafe Tibet was absolutely delicious and also inexpensive - what else could I ask for? I got a flavorful bowl of momo soup and it was massive, I wish I included a spoon for scale in the photo. Go support this restaurant!

This place is spectacular. We got the eggplant chip appetizer, salmon momo, and gluten free sweet potato noodles. The eggplant chips were warm fritters with delicious eggplant inside and topped with wonderful spices (but not spicy). The Momos were tasty too, but the star of our dinner show was the GF sweet potato noodles with chicken. This was like pad Thai, only a million times better.

I’ve walked past this place numerous times and I’m so happy we stopped in today. I’ve been to most restaurants in Berkeley, and this is my new favorite.

It’s also beautifully decorated, unpretentious, and the service was great.

Thanks for a wonderful meal!

This is an amazing place, a spiritual experience to eat here. The owner is also super nice. Highly recommended and I’ll come back for sure.
Make sure to plan in advance and check the opening hour, because they only open in the evening.

We ordered the noodle soup and momo soup and enjoyed them both. The broth is very flavorful. Also very reasonably priced. Service is quite slow, however, so just make sure you leave plenty of time for your meal.

Absolutely love this family owned tibetan restaurant in Berkeley. I don't think I have seen another Tibetan place in the bay area. Their Momos are too die for, as is their fried eggplant dish. Also love the macrobiotic plates. More importantly, I love the owner, the decor and the vibe of the place. One of my happy places in the bay area.

Incredible food, large portions and a reasonable price. We tried the Momos and flat noodle soup. Both were delicious. Best Momos I've had in the bay area! Highly recommend!!

This place is a hidden gem. I would not normally walk in this restaurant but man this place is awesome!!
This is a family owned restaurant, feels homely, authentic Tibetan ambience, friendly service, variety in menu and quality food. One can sense the love put in the business and food. The restaurant has been here since 1999.( they have survived a lot if ups and down and they’ve got the food to back it up)

We ordered chang and bod-jha for drinks and sha momo(chicken), sha-bhak-leb( beef) , sho-kho-kha-tsa(potatoes) and then-thuk(beef) for food. I tell you, this made my day, week and month. This was hands down, one of the best foods in Sf. The lady was kind to offer us some khapse( made for their new year, not in the menu).

I was happy at this restaurant!!

Great experience - super kind staff and good for those w allergies/restrictions. Food is healthy and affordable. Flavor feels more homey; not super strong.

Sweet little place in Berkeley. The owners are super friendly. I try the various momos while you are there. The house hot sauce has a real kick to it and completely worth trying. Also try the traditional Tibetan fermented Rice wine Chang. It is made locally by the owners and is not very strong, but is a fun wine.

This place is pretty amazing. We got there RIGHT when they opened and waited a few minutes for the matriarch of the place to show up (also the person who spoke English) but when she arrived, she was AMAZING. She knew what my husband would order just by looking at him. The food was suuuper healthy and tasty. We got momos , amazing bean soup w ginger, a chickpea appetizer thing and 🐑 curry. We ate way too much and I still feel somehow like it was healthy. Highly highly highly recommend

Very high quality food. The owner cares about making things from scratch and having it be very fresh and all of her food is amazing. Go for the chicken and/or beef momos to start, then branch into the noodle soup bowls or macrobiotic plates later. The momos are the best you can find in the area and that’s what many people come here for, but don’t stop there.
