My girlfriend and I came here to fuel up before commuting to the city. It's conveniently across the street from the BART Center St entrance, and I'm sure it'll be even more convenient when the new entrance opens up later this year.

I got the morning glory muffin per the cashier's recommendation. Even though it was one of the "uglier" items on display, it was moist, sweet, delicious, and filling. It really did "taste like carrot cake". :D

To drink, I got the caramel javiva blend. It was sweet and decadent, expertly topped with whipped cream and drizzled with extra caramel. It definitely gave me the morning boost I was looking for, all while satisfying my sweet tooth.

Chill place nobody seem look people wrong way or any smart saying bad things so obviously they were really not startng little words on issues so very lay back

I like this Peet's. Friendly staff and restroom access for customers. The coffee joint on Center and Shattuck gave me hard time after $pending 10 buck$ there...really? Peet's tea just tastes better...restroom or no.

Peet's Coffee, of course, is excellent. The only reason for four stars on atmosphere was due to the echo inside the space.

I didn't expect it to work out as well as it has when they redid the interior several years ago. Now, in addition to the great coffee and baked snacks there is a natural flow to the place. It's downtown, so there is a queue sometimes forms, but they dissolve it quickly in general. It's more of a live place than many - not just a bunch of chairs with silent folk behind laptops, but friends chatting with friends, business discussions, small groups coming in to socialize briefly. A very diverse and cool crowd to go along with the excellent beverages and tasties, not to mention some of the best coffee beans probably on the planet.

I've been enjoying Peet's coffee since the late 70's. Always loved the coffee and experienced excellent and friendly service. I have always had great service at this Shattuck location as well as at the 4th Street, College Ave and Fruitvale locations. I was surprised and disappointed to have a poor experience at number number of other Peet's in the East Bay Area. I did give corporate the feedback and I recently tried a few other East Bay Peet's locations and am happy to see and very much appreciate the improving customer service.

Clean open space, delicious white chocolate mocha, barista was super nice. Will absolutely go back.

This was my first time trying Peet’s, and I wasn’t disappointed! My coffee was good, I got it quickly, and the atmosphere in the coffee shop was such that I was able to have my meeting there, rather than relocating. Would definitely go again.

I can't believe this is my first time coming to a Peet's Coffee bar !!
I used to be a total SB caramel macchiato junkie, until today that is. I came to find out that SB is an offshoot of Peet's. In fact, Peet's used to supply their coffee to SB. IMO, Peet's coffee is waaay better than SB coffee - it's not bitter tasting and the caramel macchiato is at least 10X better !!
Sorry SB but, Peet's is much better.

Great place, clean and friendly staff. They were great with my young children. They allowed them to order and made their hot chocolate "just right" in temperature.

Save money! Download the app and get free coffee! Peet's is always great coffee, friendly staff, and a clean shop. The only drip coffee in the area worth drinking.

Always fast and friendly service! I stop her on my way to work or on my morning breaks. My drinks here are great and I’ll continue to purchase my coffee from this location

One of the older Peet's coffee spots in Berkeley and recently renovated. Great espresso-based drinks and dark roasts.

Peet's is the best! Coffee tastes real. Long line but fast service. Parking was plentiful at 8 am.

I love Peet's. Good, strong coffee, awesome pastries and snacks (with vegan options), and the staff is always friendly and helpful.
