What an amazing experience and restaurant! 221 Main restaurant was magnificent! Located in St. Joseph, Michigan, this restaurant is a great date spot for adults to let their hair down, dress up, and enjoy amazing food. If you decide to go, it's best to get a reservation.

The food is so good! Very delicious looking plates and great tasting! We enjoyed the steak and pork chop. As an appetizer, I enjoyed the calamari. The drinks were amazing as well! We enjoyed a drink without alcohol and of course, I tore the water up. Lovely food!

The service was amazing! All the servers were kind, on top of their work, and are very good with the menu. The water came at great pace, and the meals came hot.

The atmosphere was classy and inviting. I loved the dim lights and the adult feel. I appreciated the decor and the beautiful walls. Everything looked perfect!

221 Main is a lovely restaurant to experience. The price point is a little high, but the food and quality are worth it.

The mid rare slow roasted prime rib was juicy and slightly warm , not cool. This is a Saturday special, get there early as the supply is limited. Get the horseradish, very tasty if you like it, and I do. The atmosphere is a bit old school but comfortable.

We had the pleasure to dine here. Party of 6, on a guys fishing trip. Drinks and food did not disappoint. Many of us got the Filet and shrimp. The calamari app was cooked perfectly. I personally ended the night with GF cream, brulé with french pressed coffee. Jennifer was quick to help us every step of the way. We could tell she was a veteran server.

Great place to enjoy a fantastic meal and a cocktail, one of the best Whiskey selections I ve seen in the state, I was present for their 1st Bourbon and dinner event this past Thursday night and I must say Robert and his team knocked it out the park, great bourbon picks and the chef and his team prepared a fantastic meal. Keep your eye out for their next whiskey event rumored to be coming in the fall, I ll definitely make the 200 mile drive again.

We enjoyed our food and had great service! The atmosphere is delightful. As I am 9 months pregnant, I can't vouch for the cocktails, but I plan to go back to try some!
I had the chicken marsala and it was FABULOUS.
Hubby had the prime rib dip and said it was very good!
I do think they're pricey, but we will still go back!

Great experience. Chose to eat here on a whim, on Friday night. No issues getting a table for two (in the off season/winter). Ayana was a fantastic server, making us feel like we were the only customers she had. Robert was amazing, offering some excellent whiskey suggestions, that were spot on. Highly recommend for grabbing some appetizers and drinks, full meal, or just drinks at the bar. I will be back, still have several whiskeys and craft cocktails to try.

The owner, Robert, has really put all of his heart and soul into making this restaurant an experience to remember for everyone who visits. The food is top notch, like something you would experience in the finest boutique restaurants. Incredible steaks, and prime rib to die for. Incredible service as well! The rooftop patio with fireplace is what initially caught our attention.

Excellent local steakhouse with great outdoor seating and awesome food! Our kids loved the steaks, they had a rather extensive set of gluten-free options (one of our group has celiac disease), and were able to accommodate us on short notice even with a big group! Would definitely come back if we’re in the area again!

Robert and his staff do an extraordinary job making your dining experience enjoyable. When we vist the area, 221 Main is at the top of our list. Never had a bad meal or experience. Highest recommendation for a superb dining experience.

Elderberry Gin & Tonic with lemon 🍋 (I missed the lime but it was good)
Brussel Sprouts *perfect* with bacon & honey
Scott Egg was on point
Calamari was okay, I asked for a side of comeback sauce instead of the cocktail sauce
House Caesar (no croutons, add tomatoes) was pretty good alittle lite on the dressing
Prime Rip Dip sandwich, good, the au jus wasn't too salty and the fries came out crispy and lightly seasoned
Creme Brulee - nailed it. Perfectly crisp melted sugar topping.

Cosy date night spot and their patio is wonderful during the summer and fall.

After our birthday dinner reservation at a neighboring restaurant was cancelled without prior notice, the owner of this fine establishment gave us a table out of the kindness of his heart despite the restaurant being completely booked for the evening. The dinner did not disappoint. Our party reached a unanimous consensus it was the best meal we’d eaten in a long time. The orange cedar salmon was succulent and decadent. From a menu filled with delicious meals to unparalleled service to a kind owner that goes the extra mile for his patrons, this is a must stop in St. Joseph.

Wow…. If I could leave 100 stars I would. My wife and I were celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary and from the moment we got in the door we felt welcomed. From the host to the owner this place is top notch. My wife ordered the white fish and it was amazing and I got the ribeye which was cooked perfectly. The cocktails were on point as well. We are not from the area and did not know that Saint Joseph closes everything at 9:30 so we decided to head back to 221 and we were welcomed back and seated right in front of the fire so my wife and I can celebrate with the wonderful ambience. The staff went above and beyond our expectations and I highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be back!! Special thank you to Robert, Kayla for making our evening so special.. And a super THANK YOU to Ryan!!!!! You guys are the best!

We were staying in St. Joseph while we visited the Michigan Wine Trail. We stopped here our first night after making a reservation. We started with the 221 Board and it was easily one of the best meat and cheese boards we have had. When I spied the Seafood Pasta on the menu, I had to try it. I have never seen anything else like it on a menu and it did not disappoint. Everything was well seasoned and full of flavor. I also want to say I am impressed with the number of reviews the owner has replied to here on Google (Yelp needs some of your reply love too). Far too few business take the time to reply to their customers reviews (good and bad) and this is why I gave 221Main 5 stars instead of 4. Good customer service and a willingness to address both praise and concerns is worth an extra star!

Went here for Valentines Candlelight Dinner. Very intimate area where we were dining. Loved it. We had the Ribeye and the Surf and Turf. Would have loved to try the Creme Brulee but they were out. Next time.

We eat there tonight 09/07/23. I called in about an hour before they opened and was pleasantly surprised by the happy voice on the other end. He said he would set it up for us.

We arrived about 15minutes early and we’re seated in the “new” just opened today dining section. Guess we were the first.

We ordered and my steak came out the way I ordered it rare. Not many can do that.

We finished our meal had a cup of coffee. It was a very nice experience. Thank you

I love a great steak. Ruth Chris' being tops. I fought 221's filet mignon if not equal to but even better then RC.
Give it a try. I believe you won't regret it.

I celebrated my birthday there. This place was Fantastic. The staff was Great. I had a large group and they handle it very well. The Food was impeccable. Everyone enjoyed their food. Not, one complaint and many will be back who had never been before.. The live music jockey they have one the weekend was awesome!!

We've dined here at least six times and the food and service have been fantastic every time. The perch and comeback burger are two of our favorites. Jessica, our waitress on our recent visit, was wonderful and went way above and beyond to make our dinner especially memorable. The terrace is lovely, and that's where we always reserve a table. Tip: reservations are handled via e-mail so if you want to eat here, especially on the terrace, you need to submit your request enough in advance, especially for a summer weekend.

There should be a 10 start review. WOW just wow...they blew me away with their amazing Prime Rib. Friday and Saturday nights I think is their special night. It was the BEST most tender prime rib I've ever had and the BIGGEST. Try the brussel sprouts those are just as delicious. You will not be disappointed here. I can not wait to return soon. 💜
