Great small/independent coffee shop close to the heart of Downtown Berkeley. I've studied here weekly for months, and always enjoy it. Great prices on coffee, the staff are friendly, and the food is always great. There aren't many cafés in Berkeley where I would sit for 4+ hours, but this is one of them.

This is my favorite coffee shop on the block. The baristas are always friendly, patient, and helpful.

I love getting coffee here because it tastes amazing and is super quick! I usually order a large hot or iced coffee and prefer a certain ratio of cream/sugar, so I like that I can add them here myself.

Such a lovely little cafe! The service is always great. I usually order online and go pick up, and it’s always extremely easy and positive. I get a large mocha every time I go, and it’s always delicious. Also, their bagel sandwiches are AMAZING!!

Friendly and lots of seating. Coffee IS delicious.It gets crowded cuz its so inviting.

Love this coffee shop. Friendly staffs. I ordered a hot coco and sat for 3 hours. They even offered me a glass of ice water. I ordered a sandwich on the way out. They offer free Wi-Fi and have electric outlets for laptops around the shop. Price is reasonable. Food quality is very decent.

Friendly service and nice background music for working. Watch out for peak study times during the academic year since it gets crazy crowded, but early mornings and in the summer it’s quite empty and calm!

Good coffee, reasonably priced bagels and cream cheese. I'm not a fan of the pastries, and maybe they are good. Good music and a place to do some work on your laptop. Lots of open windows, and the street side seating is decent , but only a handful of tables for 2.

Perfect! The best place to work and study. The staff is amazing, the food is great, the prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is great. Definitely my favorite place when I need to study or work.

Got a whole afternoon of work done with excellent coffee and a snack. Academics and students everywhere. I even plugged my computer into a tree, well, sort of, a white power strip hanging from a indoor plant. So a bunch of worked fueled by coffee, snacks and ficus tree energy.

Love this local coffee shop! Bartenders are friendly and know your order if you come fairy often. They play nice, non-distracting music (on the classical side), have lots of seating. Their coffee is good, better than most places (but not excellent). Prices are fair. Ideal place for studying and grabbing morning coffee.

Good coffee and pastries, Italian sodas, breakfast and lunch sandwiches. There is a nice bulletin board with community events, good food and atmosphere. Nice laptop place or for a quick chat.

I like Berkley Espresso, convenient location, friendly staff, plenty of space to work and study (with many outlets for a laptop). It is not easy to find a place where you can actually plug in your laptop and where the environment is so cool and chill. Also, Berkley Espresso is locally owned and I love it!
