The Local

Our first visit to Boulder on a working / mini- vacay combo. Server was so friendly. The food was as tasty as it was huge - we had to take some with us. The BBQ selections and sauces were top notch. Cornbread moist, veggies fresh, and Mac n cheese heavenly. Let’s not talk about dessert! The bread pudding was unusually good and the salted caramel ice cream the perfect go- together. Cool comfortable place. We’ll be back before we return home.

Great local atmosphere. This was such an impressive place. The staff is knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Great recommendations and table side attentiveness are definitely on the menu here. I got the bbq sampler and it’s was more than enough food for two people. I took home enough for two more plates. So the price point is very reasonable for the portions. There was a full bar and enough tvs to see all the games you could hope to enjoy. I was so thrilled I’ll happily be returning with friends.

What a great find! We went to Boulder for an event and were starving afterwards. When we got to the restaurant, the kitchen was closed. Harry had them re-open the kitchen to serve us, and was so kind and nice. Our server was also amazing - she was so friendly and nice and didn’t act mad or frustrated that we walked in so late. The food was great! We will definitely come back again - it’s worth the drive

We drove up to Boulder from Littleton tons got for an event. After the event we looked for restaurants that were still open and serving food. We found The Local and walked in. Harry treated us at the door, we told him a table for four and he said, “let me see if the kitchen is still open.” He also mentioned it was a slow night and they were getting ready to close up. After a few minutes he came back and said he was old accommodate us. And man were we glad they did! Some of the best BBQ I have had in a long time. The bartender (I can’t recall her name) was friendly, funny and not mad or frustrated with us walking in late at all. We chatted with Harry and he even gave us some of his homemade limoncello which was also incredible. This was hands down the best experience, atmosphere and over wholesomeness I have experienced in a long time. Thank you Harry and the staff at The Local for the amazing time and food. We will 100% make the drive up again just to eat here again and maybe have an another shot!

As luck would have it, our St. Paddy’s Day journey led us to The Local in Boulder, where every moment felt like a stroke of Irish magic. From the warm welcome to the festive ambiance, Amy and her team have perfected the art of celebration. It’s no blarney when I say that The Local is the pot of gold at the end of Boulder’s rainbow. Rama’s dedication shines brighter than a shamrock in the sun, making everyone feel like a cherished guest at their own St. Paddy’s Day soirée. Here’s to Amy and The Local for keeping the spirit of the Emerald Isle alive in the heart of Boulder!

Highly recommend this place!! You won't be disappointed! The staff went above and beyond to ensure our New Year's Eve dinner was exceptional! The food was delicious, as usual, and the service was wonderful. We had a large party and they exceeded all of our expectations. The atmosphere is fun and lively, and I love that they take reservations.

As an aficionado of taverns I’ve been waiting for this to open for months and I’m happy to report that it’s great. Reasons why: 1. great menu of tavern food (plus solid choice of entrees) - I had the fried pickles and chicken fingers and both were hand made and very good. 2. Strong service - waitress was attentive and friendly and made sure I didn’t finish my beer without getting me a new one. 3. Well designed interior of wood and stone (very taverny) plus a well done outdoor beer garden — btw check out the guillotine above the urinal in the mens room (can u say stage fright). 4. Well selected tavern music that fit the target audience - i.e. classic rock (don’t get me started on how most restaurants totally miss this part of the customer experience). 5. Solid bar selections that are reasonably priced. Two suggestions I have for management: 1. Adjust the lights down a bit - taverns should be a bit dimmer light. 2. Lower the price of the BBQ choices - I moved here from TX and am used to amazing bbq at reasonable prices - 44 bucks for the sampler platter is crazy high (unless its for the whole table but that is not clear on the menu). All-in-all I highly recommend checking out The Local as a regular place to grab drinks and good food.

First time trying local and it did not disappoint. Our server (Ashwin I believe) was just the best. He even brought extra containers at the end so we could try the other bbq sauces. Food and drink selection was great.

Amazing local casual spot for great food and beautiful cocktails. I walk here all the time, but highly recommend visiting when in Boulder! My favorites are the seared tuna sandwich, bbq chicken sandwich, and the mac & cheese (pro tip: add a dab of spicy BBQ sauce).

Visiting Boulder for the week and came here twice! They are LGBTQ+ friendly and hosted an amazing drag BINGO/trivia. Food, drinks and atmosphere are great!

Tasty authentic bbq and very friendly staff. Portions are huge. Live music was a bit annoying, making it hard to talk.

We went here due to its proximity to the fields after my son's soccer game because we were starving. Also, because of their Google ratings so it seems necessary to give a review. Staff was great and so was the food. Brisket Grilled Cheese FTW!!!

We tried the local when it first opened and did not have a good experience. Gave it another shot tonight and we were pleasantly surprised. Food and service was great! They have a decent little happy hour menu too. Happy to say we will be back.

Came here for lunch with a coworker, and really enjoyed the ambience, food and service. I got the barbecue pork tacos and they were incredible! My coworker also enjoyed her lunch.

Everything was wonderful minus the old gentleman who scowled and grunted as I walked in and asked for a table barely muttering a word. Super thankful every other person there was extremely pleasant and food was on point. Hopefully he has a better day tomorrow.

Brisket and chicken sandwich were great! The portions were really generous too.

Service was great, food was really good, drinks were made right. Not much to say other than we really enjoyed this restaurant and will be back again for sure.

Really solid food. Feels like the kind of place you could order anything on the menu and enjoy it. Great homemade hot sauce btw. Also nice to have a nicely designed sports bar in North Boulder. Could use a few more tvs but better than most places for a game.

Nice place to eat and watch a game. Attentive bartender. Mac and cheese is yummy and the brisket tacos were super👌🏽

Good food, fast friendly service, a nice craft beer selection and lots of screens for sports.
