A nice stop for lunch before our Biltmore house tour. Right next door, so very convenient. Food was yummy, and the service was prompt and friendly. Interesting how they turned the stable into a restaurant, and we actually ate in one of the feeding stalls. Mixed greens side salad was really good with a unique vinaigrette, and the black eyed pea cake sandwich was super delicious.

After our home tour of Biltmore, we decided to have a nice lunch. Although it was busy, we waited maybe 20 minutes at most. The entire restaurant was once the horse stables that were redone into a restaurant! It was very neat!
Jackie was our server, and she out did herself! She was what I wish all servers were like. She was very attentive and friendly, and when we asked for something, she promptly brought it to our table. If you eat here, ask for Jackie!
The menu options were very plentiful and would appeal to many, in my opinion. We ordered the skillet Mac n cheese, which was homemade and quite flavored, I ordered the smash burger and added grilled onions! Which made it delicious. My husband had the apple bacon cheeseburger. Since we both ordered burgers, Jackie suggested we cut them in half and share! I'm glad they did!
Overall, it was a nice place and the food was really good!

I ordered the cast iron Mac and cheese for a starter and it was delicious! The meatloaf was good and very hearty. It was a bit dry, but it did taste good. The food came out in a very fast fashion and the staff was very friendly. The atmosphere was very welcoming and it was very unique eating inside of a stable

We enjoyed lunch at the Stable Cafe this past Sunday afternoon. The environment was lovely. The staff and service were exceptional and the food was delicious. I had the roasted beet salad and the Autumn risotto and it was honestly one of my top 5 favorite meals ever. My sister ordered the meat loaf and was raving about it. I highly recommend dining here when you visit Biltmore!

Not a bad spot for lunch! Very busy and a little overrated for being a touristy eatery option. Think we had to wait for about 45 minutes for lunch on a weekday. The service was friendly though and the food was pretty good so we couldn’t complain.

Now for my standard comments. The location is clean and we were comfortable with the indoor seating options. It did get a little too crowded at times though.

Very creative way to turn the stable into a restaurant area. The architecture and decor made it a unique experience.

We went around 11AM so the cliental was not busy in comparison to other reviews. Our waiter was very polite keeping the place in a “sophisticated” vibe.

Our food was served warm and forewarning that if you’re picky with how food may be touching or perhaps expectations of food preparation then you may have some weariness.

Personally all looked great and provided a unique way of displaying the food, however my mother thought differently finding it harder that food was not as separated as everything was mixed in. Again, personal preference really, but something to not leave out.

Definitely would include this restaurant for your itinerary when visiting the Biltmore!

I was very tasty and I didn’t expect it! Lol Seasoned well, not greasy at all, and quick service. Very pleasantly surprised because I was expecting touristy nasty food. It’s expensive but tasty and thus it’s almost worth it.

We made a reservation a couple months in advance of our winter trip. It was bustling with people. We were able to get seated within 10 minutes. They have nice booths in horse stalls with very long tables. The server was prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable. Each adult order a cocktail, beer, or wine. The server allowed us a sample of the Cardinal Crest wine which was very nice. We ordered the Cauliflower Steak, Meatloaf, and the seasonal Beef Grilled Cheese. The manager visited our table to check-in. Everything was delicious! We were so impressed with the proactive service. We ended our meal with coffees. The Stable Cafe has a great location next to the Biltmore House. Highly recommend eating at this restaurant!

We booked a reservation at the Stable Cafe for an earlier time, but since we were done earlier at the gardens we went in and they were able to accommodate us. It was off hours about 2:00pm and it was busy, but not super crowded. Morgan who was our waitress was cheerful and full of suggestions. We ordered an appetizer and 2 entrees. Both tasted really good, fresh and hot. The bill was about $75.00 before tip which is a little expensive, but for being on the Biltmore property that is normal. We really enjoy the atmosphere here and since we have Biltmore passes we’ll be back again.

I'm going to give them a 5 because Donna did an awesome job. The only complaint I have is that the mac and cheese seems really simple as though someone just made the pasta mixed it with some ricotta cheese and melted a slice of fancy cheese on top. The mac and cheese was my only disappointment everything else, even though the price point is a bit high, definitely meets my expectations of the Biltmore. Oh, for some reason I can only get my burger well done so I just passed on that uncivilized option.

We had a very nice dinner and a bottle of wine before our Candle Light Tour! The host stand is very professional & accommodating! We were sat immediately as a walk up! The place was packed! our Server was dynamite! He suggested and we just ordered! He was very down to earth & gracious! We can’t wait to go back and enjoy this amazing restaurant! Enjoy walking around the mini boutique area while seeing lavish chocolates & fantastic gift giving ideas! This estate is self sufficient so they don’t get grant money or anything from the government-we need to support this Estate & Winery often! Such an American Treasure & gift to visit!

A very good dining experience. Experienced staff who where expedient and courteous served us. The menu offered good options while not being overwhelming. The food was better than expected in presentation and flavors. Highly recommend.

We’ve always had many positive experiences at the Stable Cafe. And this time we were hoping to have the same experience. The hosts did a great job of accommodating our request to sit in one of the authentic horse stales, as that really makes the Stable Cafe a fun place to eat. Our reservation was for 2:15pm and we were sat at 2:30pm. This was completely understood due to our request and the busy Christmas season. Lunch is served until 3pm. Our server was double-sat with 2 six tops, but did well in attending to our needs despite this. One of my guests order the appetizer House Smoked St. Louis Ribs for his lunch entree. After getting drinks and an appetizer, it had been 30 minutes when our food was ready to come out and the server told us that they just found out that they were out of the ribs. Why did it take 30 minutes for them to figure this out and now the guest has to pick something else out and wait for that to be prepared. Luckily he order the BBQ pork sandwich that came out very quickly. I asked for a manager to come over. The manager was unaware of what happened and did not know that my guest had ordered the ribs and they were unable to serve this dish. So there was definitely a lack of communication. The manager did comp the guest’s BBQ pork sandwich meal and also provided another discount for the entire table. So while we were disappointed in this part of our dining experience, everything else was great and the manager did the right thing to make up for the issue.

Very fun and unique restaurant. Being able to sit at a booth that used to be a horse stable is pretty awesome. The food and service were both very good. The restaurant is immaculate.

We got seated immediately without reservations. The food was amazing, as good as any great restaurants. The squash soup was amazing, the beef bourgeoisie was wonderful, and when the waiter heard it was my wife's birthday, he brought a nice desert for her. The service was quick and friendly.

I'm in love and sad you can only get here if you visit the Biltmore Estate. I stopped here for a late lunch after touring the mansion.

I started with a Huckleberry Mule, add in a house salad and the NC Shrimp & Grits (Cheesy) and I was in heaven. One of the best versions I've had.

The venue is beautiful, and service by Josh was very good, he was attentive and had good suggestions. I just wish I would have had room to try one of the desserts!

Would absolutely go back.

Gorgeous interior just like everything surrounding Biltmore estates. Server was super nice and descriptive with certain offerings. The trout was pretty good but the cheesy grits underneath were the star. The pulled beef sandwich was slightly dry but overall not too bad.

Very close to the Biltmore mansion in the sitting area with food options and near stores. Highly recommended to make a reservation so you can skip the line outside to just put your name on a waitlist if there is one that day.

We were there on a beautiful Monday in early February. There were so few crowds anywhere on the estate, it was so lovely! We were greeted right away by a pleasant hostess. Our server (Tricia I think?) was so attentive and friendly. She was always right there to refill our drinks and even picked up the cloth napkin (yup, cloth!) my father dropped and brought a new one.

We had the pimento cheese and crackers and a bowl of the sweet potato bisque. Both were delicious and filling.

The restaurant itself was really cool. The photos all showed horses on the property, and the decor was really cool. And the kitchen was open so you could see the cooks working, and it was very impressive.

Prices were reasonable considering the convenient location, service, food and cleanliness. It was a lovely experience.

Excellent service by our knowledgeable waitress. Generous portions for lunch. The waitress added the cake for free after she found out we were celebrating a birthday. The best dining experience in Asheville.

The experience at any restaurant on the estate makes the annual pass a real value and lunch at the Stable Cafe is amazing.

The Stable Cafe at the Biltmore Estate provides yummy food, a fantastic atmosphere and Sydney, one of the best servers you will ever have! Our party tried the Appalachian Soup Beans (yummy and filling enough for a meal), the Black Eyed Pea Cakes, which came with a delicious sauce and homemade chow chow, the Portobello sandwich (amazing) and the Strawberry Salad, which has delicious estate greens. The wines were delicious and when Sydney heard that the complementary wine tastings were all filled up, she brought us a few to taste so we didn’t miss out. The absolute best bite of the visit was the Red Velvet Cake, which is made with Baileys and you must be 21 to order. So freaking delicious!!
