Acorn Acres Farm

Acorn Acres Farm is a fantastic place to get locally grown and sourced greens, mushrooms, veg and meats. I am a huge baker and they carry my go to local flours from Janie's Mill in IL. They also order bulk amounts for me since I go through so much of the ancient and specialty grain flours. The ladies in the shop are always so nice and extremely helpful. Thank you!!!

Our family recently moved to NW Indiana, and we were thrilled to discover Acorn Acres. They have a super selection of pastured meats, plus dry goods, some dairy and a small selection (in winter) of local veggies. We've enjoyed many meals featuring their delectable pork roasts, home made sausages (Mexican & Moroccan are our faves!), and we bought a stewing hen for the first time for a truly incomparable soup making experience. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. I will gladly don a mask or wait briefly outside if asked, for the superior quality products and excellent shopping experience. Thank you!

Acorn Acres is the best! Their produce is always so lush and fresh and they have a wonderful variety of free range meats, eggs, dairy, and pantry items. For the quality you are getting, they are EXTREMELY well priced. They have done an amazing job during the pandemic to provide safe options for their customers, including being firm on masking, limiting the number of customers in the store at one time, and also allowing for pre-ordering where they bring it right out to your trunk. They are also SO friendly! Cannot recommend enough!!

Everything there is fresh and extremely high quality. Onions sweeter than any I've had. Tons of grass fed meats as well, haven't had a chance to try everything yet but the Ribeye was wonderful. Highly recommend anyone check them out and buy whatever looks good, you won't be disappointed!

Phoebe is wonderful. She is so accommodating. I like how she makes recommendations. They have eggs, beef and pork. I was introduced to fermented hummus which is good for digestion. I also liked the organic puffed spelt. There is olive oil and high quality canned and boxed items. A local man bakes bread.

Acorn Acres Farm offers the best quality meat in this area! While I appreciate organic labels at the store, these guys go beyond. I've always found the people working the store friendly and knowledgeable. I really can't say enough good things about them, just go and check them out yourselves!

I'm editing my review because I've had Google ask me many questions about Acorn Acres that a yes or no just didn't really answer. I hope this edit answers those questions a little more clearly. Before I address the questions, I want everyone to know that, of all the places I shop, I feel safest at Acorn Acres. Now, on to my answers to the questions. Yes, properly worn masks are required. Period. No, there are no barriers at the checkouts, because there's only one checkout, social distancing is encouraged, and only one person or small family is allowed to shop at a time. Yes, this may mean waiting in line, BUT, it's for everyone's health and safety. Yes, the shop is disinfected between customers, which means a little more time to wait, but it is well worth it. Let the staff get your items for you from the refrigerators and freezers; it means less they have to disinfect before the next customer enters, which means a shorter wait time for everyone. Even better, preorder online and have them bring it to your car for you. I hope this helps.

Best (only) place I know for soy-free eggs and meat. Everything from Acorn Acres Farm is soy-free, organic, and free range. For health reasons I have to avoid soy, so I'm happy to have found them. I've been buying from them for years and have never been disappointed. They offer suggestions and recipes to go with your purchase whether it's eggs, lamb, beef, pork, poultry or produce. Pheobe is knowledgable about her family's farm and can answer any questions you have.

What can I say, truly organic small farm raised meats. Organic vegetables right from the farm. The quality is extremely high, nothing like this anywhere I've ever seen. Phoebe and her staff are always helpfu, ready to answer any questions,and always friendly! Thanks Phoebe :-)

We drive 40 minutes every two weeks to go to the store. The best eggs, produce, and service!
