Joe's Bread

It was my 60th birthday and we tried Joe's Bread!! I'm glad I don't live close by or my paycheck would be gone to this restaurant. Food was phenomenal. Coffee served in a big mug and is rich and smooth. Took home bread family loved it!!!! We spent 3 hours at Joe's. Best birthday yet!!!! Thanks Joe and your excellent staff!!!

10/10 I love this place so much. The workers and owner are all very kind themselves on top of always being informative & helpful. I got the gingerbread latte today and the ham & cheese croissant. Both are top tier. And they have a chess set out!! As a chess player it genuinely makes an experience at a place so much better when they have a board set up and people play. And their food, 🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌! Their sandwiches are delightful and I still dream about the quiche I had here once. HIGHLY recommend

Thoroughly enjoyed every dish. Everything was flavored perfectly, whoever is cooking the food KNOWS what they are doing! Staff is kind and knowledgeable. A little expensive but to be honest. It’s worth it! Portions are great too!

My favorite part was the bread and hummus. Very rich! Excited to come again and enjoy the other options available!

We absolutely love this place the pastries are fantastic. Thank you Joe and your team for your kindness and the love you put into your work. My wife absolutely loves your crepes as well. The blueberry and raspberry danish are some of the other favorites. Don’t change anything please.

This is a wonderful new edition to Chesterton. Great bread cafe and coffee shop with a ton of seating. Fantastic place to grab a coffee to go or to sit down to study or have a small meeting.

I stopped in on a Saturday morning around 8:30. They had fresh loaves of Farmer's Bread that were still warm! I bought one to take home and immediately enjoyed it after getting there.

At the cafe I enjoyed a latte and chocolate croissant. Ah-mazing!

I can't wait to come back to Joe's.

This is a delightful place to spend my lunch hour. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I've tried a large variety of the coffee and teas by now and everything is served exactly as it should be. And the pastries are the best treats!

Found Joe's Bread to be a good fit for this building, which is special in its own right. Enjoyed the tea selection. Danishes were quite good! Enjoyed the interior design - lots of space for studying or virtual work. Clever use of antiques.

I've been coming to this building since it was Katie's Ice Cream when I was a child. I absolutely love the current restaurant here. They have great food options above and beyond their fantastic bread. Their coffee is almost as great as their staff. If you're in Chesterton and they're open, you should stop in.

What a great spot! Stopped here with my girlfriend and we were both blown away by the food. Highly recommend the Croque Madame! (Wish I got a picture before I started eating) The coffee was great too. And the service was fantastic. Will be going back next time we’re in the area

Stopped by Joe's Place on Tuesday and purchased a loaf of sourdough bread and a buttery croissant. Both were very good!! My husband really likes the sourdough bread. He's been making panini sandwiches with it. The place is cute inside and the staff is very warm and welcoming. I have to go back and try the loaf of brioche bread next!!

Vibe and yummy food! The omelette was great, the toast was delish, and the salad was so good. Can’t wait to eat my Parmesan ciabatta loaf at home. Will definitely be back!

A hikinG friend invited me here and it did NOT disappoint! First it isn’t crammed up. It had plenty of space and high ceilings so you can brainstorm BIG ideas 💡 while consuming from the simplest of coffees to the very fancy ones. The food made there had too ingredients. THIS IS MY GO TO PLACE FOR friends, and new friends, and coffee. The staff are unbelievably so nice. What is the worst that can happen? Is not to like here with reasonable prices. No financing is needed for the top of the line exotic coffees. Look for me there. We can talk about hiking or solve some world problems.

We love this place! Couldn’t imagine a friendlier family to interact with. Ample space to camp-out and work or visit and the full-service espresso bar in addition to the baked goods makes for a wonderful time. GREAT ambiance in a well restored historic building. Don’t miss it!

I've been lucky enough to come here twice. How many times have I been to Chesterton? Twice. How many times to Joe's Bread? Twice. I would not repeat a place unless I thought it was exceptional.
This place has a lot going for it. The location, the ambience, the offerings, the staff and the quality of the food and drinks.
I got a loaf of rye bread this last time. It's so good - I LOVE rye. We ate it for and with several meals and I still have a bit left that I'm trying to not devour too quickly.
While there this last time we had the french onion soup which I was so happy to see was "real". Good bread and cheese melted on top of some very decadent broth and tons of onions. We also had the goat cheese and portobello breakfast sandwich and it was decadent with the goat cheese just oozing out.
The only thing we didn't care for, which is a personal preference, was the hummus. It was quite boring and we didn't eat it. Not sure why we ordered that as we agreed it's not our favorite.
However, I love a place that makes their own food and makes you feel you are eating healthily as well as indulging at the same time. If we end up back in this area again, I will be stopping in!

The spinach omelet here is really special, so good! Try the iced coffee.

This place was a pleasant surprise. Latte was well prepared and the omelet was delicious. The brussel sprouts were also very good.

I moved to the area about 3 months ago and am so happy to have Joe’s Bread as a go-to spot. My absolute favorite is the mushroom crepe…I’m addicted. I love the baked goods too!

Hard to find this place but after 20 min tada I did!! It's a cute little cozy place. It looks like a house with outdoor seating. Walking inside sneelled so good. They didn't have a huge variety of bread of sweet treats BUT it was rather late in the afternoon. Maybe 12:30. I grabbed a loaf of sourdough bread and had them slice it. Got home and realized it was a light brown color. So not sure if it was something else and sour dough. I'll definitely be back to try some other things on the menu. Maybe try breakfast or lunch. Cute and spacious inside and the 2 employees were friendly.
