Cozy and charming cafe at the small town of Seal Harbor. Looks like a usual spot for the locals. Stop here to escape the high traffic of Bar Harbor, and head to a quieter side of town. Prices are surprisingly reasonable (a delicious blueberry muffin is only $1.25), and wifi is available for customers. It was a delightful stop and I recommend it to anyone.

The Coffee Shop Cafe is one of my favorite spots in the whole wide world. It is one of those places that may come into your life by accident as you tour MDI and are looking for a good cup of coffee, friendly service, and wifi (all of which the coffee shop has AND more), but it also is simultaneously the heart, spirit, and best community meet up spot for Seal Harbor locals and summer guests alike. I've been going to the coffee shop since I was a little girl, loving all of Terri Hanson's (the owner) amazing baked goods—from warm cinnamon buns to delicious paleo cookies and lemon blueberry muffins—but this summer I was lucky enough to get a chance to work for her. She is truly one of the most inspiring people you will ever meet and she shares her radiant spirit with all those who enter the coffee shop. The customer always come first at the coffee shop and this applies to things that the customer doesn't even see. She uses locally sourced produce of the highest quality, from an organic farmer's lettuce and fresh local lobster from her husband's fishing for her special lobster mac and cheese. The coffee shop truly has something for everyone: gluten free baked good options, beverages and on the go snacks for hikers that include yogurt parfaits and homemade hummus and pita chips, delicious warm paninis for vegetarians and meat-lovers, freshly made pizzas everyday and Calzones every Wednesday, an amazing quinoa salad with pecans and a white balsamic dressing, "the world's best chocolate chip cookies" and cold-brew, lattes, espressos, refreshing fruit smoothies, and so much more. The atmosphere of the coffee shop is filled with indie music, the smell of Terri's delicious baking or cooking, warmth, tranquility, and happiness. You may come in looking for a cup of hot coffee, but you will always leave with the happiness of summer and so much more. As a young adult whose family has been able to vacation in Seal Harbor for over 50 years, there is no place that I think is more emblematic of the specialness of Seal Harbor than this coffee shop. I cannot speak highly enough of The Coffee Shop Cafe and the staff who help run it.

Cute little bakery walking distance to Deal Harbor. Probably the best breakfast we had on out trip! Blueberry Monte Cristo!

Cashier cheated me of $10. She took my $20 bill as payment for a coffee. Put my 20 in the drawer, then placed a 10 from the drawer on the counter like she was starting to make change. She "fidgeted" with the register for a minute, as if it wasn't working, eventually she "gave up" with the register and said she would figure out the change by hand... only this time starting with the 10. I protested, but she insisted I gave her 10. It's an old trick.

To make it worse, the coffee wasn't very good.
