OMG!!! I found this place while trying to get to another place for breakfast. Lucky for me and my friend, the other place was packed and while me making a u-turn, I saw this place. Then, 3 customers were walking out, I asked if they recommended the place and all three said Yes!!! so I walked in, gave my name and I was told that waiting time was only 15 mins. No biggie!! So let's break down my stars!! Because if I give a rating, you know that I will tell you why! Food - 50/5 stars!! I had the tacos breakfast, soooooo good!! The eggs were cooked to perfection, portion was generous, tortillas and potatoes were very good ❤. Price- in my opinion, the price is right. Do not increase 🙏! The mimosa sampler, hey, I can have all four by myself, they were simply delicious. Ambiance- 4/5, only because it is crowded, when you walk in, the host is "right at the door" and is like sardines in a can; I get it...Is a very popular spot. I wish tables and chairs were not so so close to each other. But the food was so worth it, that I forgive them. The place looked clean. Service- 20/5. - for being so busy, our waiter was very nice and attentive, she checked on us frequently, appreciated that. Parking - 5/5, super easy and enough parking for all of us, hungry people😂. The menu has a lot of options so even picky eaters will find something to eat. I cannot wait to go back!! Highly recommend it!!

Food was AMAZING 🤩 absolutely delicious! We had to wait a little bit but totally worth the wait. Our service was also great! Our waitress was super attentive even with it being so busy which was great! We will definitely be returning. Definitely not your average boring breakfast place. The food has spunk and they have a bunch of different twist on food items. This place is an absolute must try! You will not be disappointed 😉

Real eggs and GREAT GRITS! It is not as easy to find real eggs and good grits as you would think. They have both! The biscuits are also amazing. Service was great. Atmosphere was fun, lots of energy.

There are outside seating options for those who are sensitive to sound or need more space.

Took my sisters from NY here, Google maps actually brought us to this location on accident as I was trying to go closer to where I live. However, the atmosphere was nice (minus the cottonballs hanging from the ceiling, not sure what that was about). The food was amazing, the waitress was very professional and kind. Drinks were soooo good! All this food at very affordable price! Will definitely be returning! It's all about the grits and biscuits for me 😌

Glad this place came to downtown Matthews. There is a large menu with many options. Food is very fresh and delicious. Wait was very short and the wait staff was really good....never a dry cup and always checking in.

Although there is a lot of breakfast choices in the area, I highly recommend this place.

Wow! This place was great, friendly service, and even better food. This was my first time experience eating at a flying biscuit. I only ever had it take-out before. Fresh tasting food with great coffee. Sat inside love what they did with the old insides, and the patio is always wonderful. Would recommend the biscuits and gravy and the chicken and waffles.

It's not the most beautiful restaurant I've been to, but everything was scrumptious. Everything.

We celebrated a birthday brunch with family. I live in the Midwest, but had lived in North Carolina many years ago for over eight years, so I enjoyed the opport to savor the best southern biscuits and elevated cuisine of this colorful and welcoming restaurant. The grits were the best I’ve ever had, neighboring a creamed pudding. The biscuits and gravy were rich and flavorful. The eggs cooked to perfection. At our table, everybody was oooh-ing and aaah-ing over their dish. The colorful flower table covers and the wood paneling on the walls give a fun and homey feel to the place while the service is attentive and professional. I hope to return next time I visit Matthews.

First time stopping here because it was near a work meeting. The weather was so nice so I sat outside on the patio. I love that they have gluten free crusts. I had the BBQ chicken gluten free pizza and it was so good! They also served me the best margarita I’ve had. It was extremely tasty.
I would definitely come back and check out more items on their menu.

This place is BUSY, but they are ROCKSTARS here despite that!! My kids loved the food they ordered. A biscuit (plain) each, and an order of chicken (tenders) and waffles. The cranberry applebutter was a bit mild for my big boy, but it was still good (he likes his a bit tart with just enough sweet that it's not too tart).

We placed a takeout order, and they brought it out in a timely manner. Which was amazing considering there really wasn't an empty table inside and most of the outdoor (covered) seating was full!!

I've eaten here a few times and everything has been delicious. I'm a conesouir of biscuits and gravy and highly enjoyed theirs. The coffee is great, service is great, and I especially love the many options to sit outside. I'm already thinking about biscuits and gravy just typing this!

Had a great dinner. Lots of vegetarian options. Service was great. Ryan took good care of us. We will be back!!

We've been a patron of this specific Pizza Peel now for numerous years. I just never got around posting a review, until now. But after today, I just had to.

We absolutely love all the servers who ever have served us here, and today one of them (Libby) recommended to me to try the vegan cheese option for the pizza due to me needing to be dairy free. I was apprehensive to try it because I've had terrible vegan cheese before, but she highly recommended it and said she even liked it. So, I tried it...and was blown away. At first bite, I was trying to figure out if this was real dairy cheese or not (and if the crust was indeed GF)...because I just could not tell the difference at all in taste or texture.

One of the primary reasons we keep coming back is due to the ability to order GF/Dairy-free options at a reasonable price, and today I was absolutely blown away by the quality options now fully available. Up until now, I only ordered goat cheese as an alternative for dairy cheese...but I am not limited to just this option anymore, and I am so thankful.

In turn, she actually brought me a package of the cheese they use - and I was able to see the ingredients (which are minimally processed), and see who made the product. I am amazed. Finally, a vegan cheese option that actually tastes like cheese...and it's not a huge list of products that can't be pronounced!

This is not the only time servers have gone above and beyond here, it is a frequent encounter for us - and we love being regular patrons of the Matthews Pizza Peel!

I've always loved flying biscuit, but the Matthews location blows the other location away!

I took my bestie from Orlando there to experience the grits. She immediately reached for the butter, and I said.. No no... These grits need nothing. They call them "heavenly grits" perfectly named.

Delicious! I highly recommend the chai latte! Wow! You really can't go wrong with this place, plus they serve alcohol. I got a bloody Mary!! Yum!

First time visiting and really enjoyed it! Friendly staff and great food. Got the meatballs for an appetizer, delicious, a little spice but nothing over the top. Got the 8 inch God Father pizza (sorry forgot to take a pic... Got to excited when it came out:) highly recommend this pizza! Can't wait to go back and try other food!

We had a great experience visiting FBC on a sunny Sunday morning. We were greeted by several enthusiastic servers when we first arrived, and got seated on their patio right away. Kayla was wonderful - friendly and attentive without being obtrusive. She refreshed our coffee at least twice during our visit. The food was really good. The over medium eggs were perfect - cooked whites with runny, golden yolks. Hash browns were crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The chicken sage sausage was great - I love pork sausage but I'd definitely get this again. The pancake was fluffy with a little texture, so I don't think it's a simple box mix pancake. The biscuits were tender and fluffy. Great job all round and wonderful atmosphere. We'll be back - for sure!

The place looks gorgeous! Lots of room and even outside seating in downtown Matthews. The food was amazing and so were the mimosas. Definitely recommend.
