Exactly what I had in mind when I told my wife, "I want to go somewhere and have that fancy looking espresso like you see on TV, but I want it to taste good too!" What an amazing little chill spot in Downtown Baton Rouge. The food was incredible. We had the pork belly burrito and the Monte Carlo sandwich I believe was the name of it. There's a direct view of the Louisiana State Capitol while sitting at the table by the entrance and the atmosphere is so relaxing. The music was spot on as well. My wife and I will be visiting again. This was our first time here, but definitely not our last!!

Best coffee shop in downtown BR! Love the nitro cold brew (way better than Starbucks) plus their vanilla syrup is amazing. They have regular cold brew and lattes as well! I really love all of the pastries and the avocado toast is awesome! Super friendly staff and started recognizing me by name after only 1-2 visits. Very cute shop and convenient location (more street parking in that area). Social Coffee is a must visit in downtown!

Absolutely loved my time here! I’ve been on a coffee shop tour of BR, and after one visit, Social Coffee is at the top of my list! Baristas were so kind and welcoming. They knew several patrons by name and chatted with many of them: such a warm environment! Had a hot and cold latte they were both delicious! Can’t wait to go back and try the food as well! Keep doing what you’re doing!

Best coffee in Baton Rouge, no question about it. Their everyday brews are always perfect, and I love trying their experimental brews too. It's not pretentious, but you can tell it's carefully crafted. I get the same thing most times, and somehow I'm always taken off guard with how consistently great it is. Their food menu is also so creative and so delicious. Combined with their awesome staff - perfect formula for an exceptional shop. Stay Social!

I came in late and it was pretty empty. I asked to make sure that they were still pulling espresso. They said yes. I travel extensively and know a little about how coffee shops operate so I thought the machine might have been shut down.

This was one of the best shots I’ve ever had. I don’t know exactly what I was served, other than a single origin Guatemalan. I wish I had asked. I bought the only beans they had available, which came with a drip coffee of that bean. I’ve never seen the to-go cup they use but often to-go cups will foul good coffee, but whatever is different about this cup is an improvement.

I wish I’d had a lot more time to talk to them about where they are getting their beans because whoever is buying their coffee seems to know what they are doing.

On a day of exploration in Baton Rouge, we made a late in the day coffee stop at Social Coffee, and boy does it live up to its name! The owner was manning the shop, and he was the warmest and friendliest barista I have met in my four months of coffee shops across 5 states! He was also incredibly knowledgeable about the coffee roasts that he sources and recommended the Ethiopian Anaerobic espresso for my cappuccino. It was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.!!! It was robust and fruity and just perfect ! My only regret was ordering to go and not in a regular cup. In short, this was the best overall coffee experience in the south!

10 outta 10! Social Coffee is a SUPERB locally owned and operated coffee shop with espresso drinks, both hot and cold, made to order with a variety of milk options available. The coffee drinks here taste as AMAZING as they look! They've also got several DELICIOUS pastry items and lunches available! The lunch menu is on the counter next to where you checkout. Give them a try and support your local downtown businesses! I guarantee you'll enjoy Social Coffee!!!!!

Nice newish cafe on North STREET @ 3rd Street. I emphasize "street" because there is a North Boulevard downtown as well. Go to North STREET.

It's a small shop but these folks really like their coffee. The owner and staff are personable, friendly, and knowledgeable. They have a small assortment of baked items from another local business, which I appreciate.

Today they happened to have a professional coffee taster in to help the staff grow their knowledge of coffee and how to talk about coffee, its taste, and other aspects of the bean. That's a very good thing.

Drop by to enjoy a good cuppa joe and a tasty local baked item. You won't regret it!

UPDATE 2022 SEPT: They are creating seasonal drinks. I hope to get in one the end of summer macha creation tomorrow.

UPDATE: 2023 AUG: New-ish breakfast burrito - pork belly, egg, potato. So very tasty! There are other things as well. Try them all!

What a find! Was downtown on Memorial Day (photos of the State Capital & flags), when I did a quick search and found this shop.
Owner was only one working because he let the rest of his staff off for the holiday (already like this guy)!
Enjoyed my coffee and the coffee shop atmosphere. When I got ready to leave the owner called me by name to tell me by and have a nice day!
THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ME!
… and I’ve been to coffee shops all over the North America & Europe.
*needed to tip this guy more next time!

Think this is a great find in Baton Rouge. A comfortable and friendly place to enjoy coffee and other drinks. The barista prepared drinks that were not on the menu to meet the needs of my party, and made sure everyone was well hydrated with water on tap.

If you're not going to Social you're doing it wrong. Every time I come here I am greeted with warmth and kindness from the staff. The chai is the best in town, and their new food menu is delicious.

Best latte I’ve had in a long time! The complex flavor created with simply espresso and milk was so good. The people running the shop were kind and served us quickly. We got breakfast in addition to coffee, both of which were delicious and reasonably priced. They also had a nice high chair for my little one.

Hands down the best coffee in Baton Rouge! Love trying the guest espresso. They’re always cycling new beans from all over the country! The owner Dillon is the best! And I love all the baristas :-)

Amazing little cafe with some incredible coffee and fresh baked goods. Their menu may not be as large as some other places but that’s because their quality control for their coffee is the best. Every cup I’ve had has had an intricate profile with incredible complexity. I would definitely recommend this place to any avid coffee drinker. They also sell bags of beans and some coffee equipment.

I'm so grateful Social Coffee exists! It is the smoothest coffee I've probably ever had, let alone in Baton Rouge. I don't live particularly close but I would travel far and wide to get my coffee here and the avocado toast is amazing. The owner is super down to earth and I love supporting this local business. Thank you for being here!!

Been wanting for a while to try this place as its across the street from where I work. Decided to go this morning and get the pork belly burrito since I already had my coffee. The burrito was great.

Will definitely drop by again for it and try their coffee next time. Only suggestion I have is a side of salsa or sour cream for the burrito; I used sour cream with it and it really took it up a notch.
