Ellis County Tax Office

The staff here has always been great to deal with and friendly. Some of my titles/registrations can be a pain "out of state", but I'm always greeted with friendly faces and smiles. No complaints with the staff at all! The new kiosk system will take some getting used to though.

Ok, I read some of the earlier reviews and I went in to get my military plates on a new truck with a less than motivated attitude. The first little bump had me ready to leave. BUTthe ladies there were patiaent and professional. They explained my attitude away.They smiled and seemed as though they were happy to help, like they'd been there waiting all day in anticipation of my visit. Lol.5 stars!!.

I tell you what this tax office has shown great improvement with the lady’s that run it now I highly recommend anyone in the Ellis county area to use this office

Poor customer service each person will give you different information and have you ring around- in my opinion incompetent to do the basics. Not helpful at all. Btw it says at the window Visa and Mastercard but, the lady said I need cash only. It should specify for some transactions- because, I honestly feel like the made that up for me to pay. It’s a joke there- save your character

They stuff is horrible as heck the so call manger laughes at your face and won't help for nothing couldn't even explain to me why and how my name wasnt on my registration for my vehicle but just came in a few months ago to renew it all the Hispanic lady at window is a joke as well either one of them could explain to why and what was going on

Went to get a Title Transfer and Registration with my passport and the lady that help me was very unprofessional and impolite. Once I wrote a incorrect date on my title and try to fixed it in the moment she went ahead and told me “ I was making a mess “ and continue to say i now needed an affidavit to fix the date. When my Dad had gone a day before to do the exact same process at the same office with his ID, and they didn’t even asked for a specific date of when the vehicle was purchased. Will not be going back or recommend at all.

This place I thought was OK. I went there 3 weeks ago to re-register my vehicle. I had all the correct paperwork and inspection. Lady was really nice. I put the new sticker on my SUV. No problem. Be sure and CHECK YOUR new registration. I thought at first it was odd because my registration ended in May. The sticker said 7-2022. But I just figured they made a mistake. Well, of course they made a mistake! With all my paperwork saying 2020 Chevrolet SUV in MY name, they actually gave me the registration for my husband's RAM Truck! After three weeks and a ticket for unregistered vehicle later, I was so mad! Can you really be that stupid? Registering the WRONG vehicle after I gave you all the paperwork for a 2020 Chevrolet? REALLY?

The two ladies in this facility (Amy Woodard and her coworker) are INCAPABLE of doing any work whatsoever. Horrible experience. Rude, disrespectful and unknowledgeable! When you get answers like “I don’t know” and “I can’t do that” that’s when you know their staff is uneducated and untrained. It’s unfortunate but the two women we had an experience with are lazy. Please do business elsewhere if you have the option. Save yourself the headache and bad experience.
