Such a heartwarming energy in here! The food was great and it is a really lovely place to just go and chat with someone. Their menu is extensive in food, drink, and baked goods, so you can never go wrong no matter the time you come. The sweet potatoes were fire, I would definitely recommend. Also… great vegan place too!

Really cool place that serves amazing coffee alongside vegan and vegetarian fare. We loved the vibe and everyone we came into contact with was very nice. They offered some gluten free options along with offering all sorts of milk and dairy alternatives for their beverages.

A regional institution, a unique and invaluable business. The owners have shepherded a great scene. Casual and comfortable. Excellent teas. Vegan options. Even has a little cupboard of free groceries if you need them!

The Root Cafe' is an absolute gem of a vegetarian eatery in Lakewood, Ohio. Five stars across the board. Terrific drink and menu options. Wonderful service. Don't miss a chance to dine here if you're in the area. Highly recommended.

Very plants, much coffee and delicious food. The root cafe is a nice place with decent staff, we had the eggs and a hummus plate which both were filling and delicious. They are more pricey than the next Starbucks but also have that extra bit of atmosphere and charm.

Went with a friend and upon entering, the totally liberal atmosphere made me totally unenthusiastic. However, it was a great place to do lunch with my friend and the wrap and juice far exceeded my expectations.
Will actually visit again when in Lakewood.

Probably one of my favorite cafés in Lakewood. The atmosphere is ideal, the teas and coffees are perfect, and the food is delicious with generous portions. I also appreciate the self-clearing plate composting for the leftovers. It’s worth the wait that people have complained about.

Laid back vibe. We all had sandwiches which were very tasty. My mushroom melt was as good as any patty melt I've eaten. Green chai ice tea was delicious. Lots of vegan and GF options.

Im not vegetatian, yet I found my meal to be filling, full of flavor and absolutely delicious. I got the beet wrap with Kale, Tempeh, and sauerkraut. It was so good! I also had an iced chai that wasnt too sweet- just to my liking.

Coffee at The Root to start 2024! A Lakewood neighborhood coffee mainstay. Perfect on a gloomy rainy 1st day of the year. Good vibes and Duck Rabbit roasted coffee. Glad we have The Root!

This place is really great place for foodstuff! Gives good hippie energy - healthy food!

Note their side of sweet potatoes is like an ENTIRE potato (maybe two) in chunky wedges, so don’t expect smaller cuts or fries. It’s delicious, but I was surprised they were do big.

Such a great cafe and wonderful food! Was excited to find a place to bring a vegan friend visiting from out of town where she had as many delicious looking choices as I did! Loved it!

The snacks were really good, the food was ehh. I ordered a black bean rice dish and the rice was undercooked. But the hot cocoa was good, the fruit smoothie was ehh. But overall my experience here was decent and I would recommend anyone to try the food here with something different. Their Hummus was DEVINE!! the most wonderful tasting Hummus I have ever had 🤤😋!

The culture wrap was amazing - tempeh never tasted so good.
The hummus wrap was very fresh - could use more hummus but that’s just me.
Ordered iced coffee with vanilla and lavender. The house nut milk was no extra charge - loved that! Espresso is a bit too acidic/fruity for my liking but again a personal preference. I’d recommend a diff bean for espresso.
Overall super happy we stopped here on a whim.

Vegan inspired food that is both delicious and creative. I never thought I'd be happy with just a salad. But they have a salad with apples, oranges and walnuts. All mixed with walnuts and I substituted sweet potatoes for beets and I was thrilled.

The staff and the atmosphere made my time in the area a tad bit better.

Spent a weekend in Cleveland. Girlfriend’s vegan, I’m vegetarian, and this place was fantastic for us. Absolutely can’t wait to go back

I love this place. Great food and absolutely the best cappuccino anywhere in the world, IMHO.

As always good service and great atmosphere. It has plenty of many options for vegans as well. I go for the coffee and perhaps a piece of bakery.
