Matt's Basement

Best chill, kick spot with plenty of different different games, board games, electronic games, as well as a piano to play on! The drinks are yummy too! I hope this place sticks around for a long time, because there’s nowhere like it! Super peaceful on winter evenings and around summertime. It gets busy but it’s always a good crowd! The owner, Matt is super kind and very likable! He’s actually from California, and you can tell this place has Cali vibes🌴👏🌞

My son and I love to go here and practice on the piano; he’s been taking lessons for a few months, so he enjoys showing off his skills here.

PS: I just learned that they have movie nights, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for just two dollars 👍😎

The employees and everyone there are SUPER friendly and sweet! They treated me and my brother very well! It's such a great atmosphere and place to go for a get together or to study! I will definitely be visiting very often now! The place itself is super cozy and warm with beanbags, couches, and games to play!
Might be my new go to! ❣

Super casual place with so much seating and a huge selection on the menu! We saw a sign pointing towards Matt’s basement that advertised coffee and hot chocolate. We were walking around Stillwater at 6pm so a lot of the other coffee shops were already closed. It was pretty quiet and we ordered quickly. They mentioned opening a couple months ago and plan to host several events that they post about on their instagram. I got a hot chocolate and we all shared their chili. Both were great! We stayed for a bit and played uno, but they have several other games you can use during your time there. The seating was so comfy and really felt like a “basement” hangout spot. I’m glad we ran into Matt’s Basement and hope to come back soon!

This is a place to get great food & drinks and hang out with your friends/family. It's spacious, you don't feel like you need to hurry so others can have your seat. I noticed people working on their laptops, a lady told me it's her work from home spot. The bathrooms are unisex, everyone is welcome here. It even has a great patio. And the staff are friendly and knowledgeable for us who haven't had boba before.
Update...
They are now showing movies Monday- Wednesday nights. Even serving popcorn 🍿 Definitely a place to hang with your friends.
Did I mention you can rent those games we played when game systems were getting started! Nostalgia is the theme!!

Absolutely great vibe! Excellent Caramel Cream Cold Brew! Definitely a top along the river you have to make when you're Downtown Stillwater! Just go park in the public parking lot across the street and enjoy your time there!

Matt’s Basement is a nice addition to Stillwater! I’m so happy that there’s boba tea in the area now. The drinks are delicious and the addition of real fruit in the drinks make them special.

The shop is cute with plenty to places to hang out and chill. There are ample spots to get cozy and stay a while. Ample seating on the patio as well.

Service is amazing, answered all of my questions. I will definitely revisit when I am in the area.

My gosh, this place is a hidden gem! The location is prime, right when you enter Stillwater off the main road. The old mill makes for a very unique and fun atmosphere, along with the very eclectic decor and design choices. The interior is warm and inviting, filled with a variety of places to work/hangout.

The boba was impressive, delicious and with its own personality. We talked a bit with Matt, the owner, who was a very kind and friendly guy with a great attitude.

We definitely plan to come here again, many times, and advise you to do the same! 💙🧋

My girlfriend and I have gone here twice now, and we plan to continue visiting whenever we're in the area.

The Boba tea is very good, and they make it look great too. The waffles are different than the usual waffles you get from places: We got the maple bacon waffle and it was amazing.

Our favorite thing about this place is the atmosphere and things to do. Its a really great place to hang out or to have a quick little date. They have a wide variety of board games and they are always playing things on the TVs so you don't run out of things to do there to pass time.

On top of all of that, the staff are all very friendly and helpful with deciding what to get. They connect with their customers by hosting movie nights, game tournaments, etc.

To sum it all up, this is a great place to hang out. The staff are very friendly and the waffles and tea are amazing!

Great atmosphere and friendly service. You can tell a lot of thought and heart went into this place. Walking in feels like being at home in an old school basement and having a chill movie night or boardgame night with friends.

Unique bubble waffles & teas. Nice outdoor patio and indoor dining overlooking the river and bike trail. Worth the stop and experience in the tin grain building.

Such an amazing place to hangout! A group of 3 of us were there for a majority of the afternoon/evening to play Magic, Genshin and read. The food and boba were absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was so cozy and welcoming! And the owner's were very sweet! Definitely would recommend this place and will be coming back soon!

I’m not one to gate keep, so I’m going to scream from the rooftop that EVERYONE NEEDS TO GO HANG OUT AT MATT’S BASEMENT! There’s seriously no place like it. Not only are the boba tea and waffle options to die for, but Matt’s also holds game nights, offers old school game rentals, puts on $2 movie nights with the most delicious popcorn, and the owner and his girlfriend are hands down the coolest people I’ve ever met. Do yourself a favor and check out Matt’s basement next time you’re hanging out downtown Stillwater!

A cozy place that serves boba tea is definitely a nice addition to the downtown Stillwater food scene. Plus, they have delicious bubble waffles! My picture is of their BLT Taco waffle.

I’ve never had Boba tea until today and I am very impressed. I ordered the green tea w/blueberry Boba and it was outstanding. Place has a great atmosphere full of local art. I’ll be back for sure.

The staff is super welcoming the minute you walk through the door. Their aesthetic is cute, homey and comfortable with a side of fun. We tried their banana foster waffles and the chocolate chip. First of all they were HUGE (took up the entire plate) I can honestly say I have never had a better waffle in my entire life, Light and fluffy and full of flavor. They were AMAZING!!!!

What a fun place to hangout. We came with ice cream in mind and were pleasantly surprised to find Hudson’s Lotus Creamery ice cream on the menu. The staff were great and the place itself had an overall “cool” feeling to it.

I really liked the environment at Matt’s. He was the only one working last night on a Friday. He was really kind and courteous. He made an Amazing BLT taco waffle for me for takeout. I had a strawberry fields tea with mango boba (it was incredible). I will definitely go back for a date night with my young adult kids. They will love it!

Run, don’t walk, to this GEM of an establishment. We stopped by on Father’s Day while waiting for dinner reservations, and it’s a new favorite spot. The gal at the counter was super helpful walking us through tea choices and recommendations. Someone was playing the piano, which was so charming. The owner new regulars by name and was so welcoming and kind. And the interior is beautifully done and captures the heart of Stillwater perfectly. It was raining, but I can’t wait to come back and sit on the patio and enjoy the river views. Bravo Matt, Dave et al! I’m hooked.

Came here yesterday afternoon and what I noticed most is that they have put great effort into building a unique community concept. It differs from other places in Stillwater and I like that. Friendly staff. My dad got a chai which he said was better than Starbucks so that’s good. I’ll be back to try the boba when I’m not on a diet. Will look forward to a return trip.
