My Fiancé and I really loved our experience here ❤ We have both lived in Oregon most of our life, and I've been to a lot of different Asian Restaurants but this one excels all the ones we've been to by far. This place is special from the very moment you walk in, the atmosphere is peaceful. The staff are very kind, generous and respectful as is the Manager. The food is amazing, and artistic even. My Fiancé loves his sauces really spicy, so you can ask for the "extra hot" version of the house. Their house salad dressing was amazing with the chicken Teriyaki salad, and the Hawaiian Sushi roll was both delicious and beautiful ❤ we also had their sake which usually I cannot do sake, but the one they had is amazing 🩷 we celebrated our Valentine's day early and I'm definitely not disappointed 🥰 we will be back again to see everyone!

Was super great! Sushi rolls are larger than expected and filled me up very fast! Drink was called Jelly shot and was interesting, I thought it would be smaller as well. But it tasted good. Hubby had the short ribs, I took a bite and they were delicious! So glad we went here! I'll be recommending this spot to coworkers, friends, and family! I'll probably take the kids here too they love sushi! And my boys always have a big appetite so usually they order to rolls from other places. I think they wiped fill up on just one order for sure!

J's is a hidden treasure. I came at 3:00 on a weekday and while the takeaway orders were steady there was still great table service, and seating available. Service was excellent, gracious and informative. I appreciated the quality of sake (there's two on offer and one of them was one of my favorites, Sayuri) The chef came out to let me know they were working on a fresh order of mackerel for my order. Just keeping the saba in stock is a mark of excellence - including an orchid tucked in with my roll.
Ambiance is straightforward, tucked in a small strip mall. But if you dial in there are a lot of nice touches to appreciate.
Absolutely zero complaints, just mad praise. I feel lucky to be here : )

Went in on a Friday night (around 10 pm) with a couple of friends. We’ve never been to this spot before and decided to check it out. While we were waiting on our food, the owner came out and struck a conversation with us. He was a really cool and down to earth guy. He talked with our table for about 20-30 minutes until we left. His wife was really nice as well. Best customer service I’ve ever had hands down and everyone at the table enjoyed their food. Safe to say me and my friends will be returning in the future. (This is Jose, if you remember. Thanks for the enjoyable food and service)

The customer service for this place was amazing I would highly recommend trying to spicy teriyaki plate. It was delicious. Lots of great flavors. Staff here were great. Came in for last min dinner. My kids enjoyed kids menu

Great food, clean, friendly service! The restaurant is family owned, and you can tell they take great pride in it. One of the owners is a vet. They make their own sauces, marinades, and dressings. We ordered an extra dish to go. We ate there during an Ironman race weekend. Good stuff!

We had such a great experience here! The food was delicious and out quickly, and the staff was fantastic. The sushi chef even came out and talked to my son about his food, then brought him a special treat. My 11 y/o son wanted to write a review, he enjoyed it so much, so I let him write the second half :)

The owner is very nice and funny and the chef needs an award for best food in town and tell him that food is a passion and you should always be passionate about food 5/5

This was our first time here. It was very clean, with lots of plants on the counter which looked very nice. Everyone was friendly, professional and courteous. We had a chance to meet the owner which was nice and he was very nice. They take their food and presentation serious. Food and drink was wonderful. We will definitely go back again and again. Every aspect of our experience at J’s Teriyaki has been truly delightful. The clean, uncluttered, and inviting interior, the warm and friendly service, and the delicious menu all blend perfectly for a dining experience worth repeating.

The menu is fresh and very tasty! (The proprietors apparently make the marinades and sauces themselves, and they clearly know how to do them right!) The salad and house dressing is crisp and perfectly sized. The gyoza is crispy and light, not chewy or dull. The sushi is perfectly presented, portioned, and presented. The ribs, beef, and chicken each have their own marinades and sauces, which complement their flavors very well.

All in all, if you are looking for fresh, delicious, Japanese-style cuisine in a friendly environment, do yourself a favor and stop in at this hidden gem.

P.S.: If you like things spicy, be sure to ask for J’s special *extra hot* sauce! It’s only for the brave, but it is a treat! (Fortunately, J’s has mochi ice cream available in case the heat gets too painful! 🥵)

P.P.S.: The prices are also very reasonable! I’ve paid much more for poorer quality food and experience elsewhere…just one more reason I’ll be returning here.

This is the second time me and my roommate have drove over an hour to just eat here. The food is phenomenal and the service is amazing. The owner is very out going and goes out of his way to greet his customers and make them feel welcomed. We pass a bunch of sushi and teriyaki places just to come here. They have the best homemade marinades and sauces and can tell the cooks and the owners put a lot of time and thought and care into there food. If I could rate this place higher than 5 stars I would. The best sushi in the state of Oregon!!!

Yes, it's worth it!

Excellent food from top to bottom. Went above and beyond for my order. The Spicy chicken is perfection and they have a spicier chicken that I wasn't prepared to try yet. I also can't express how much I appreciate a chicken teriyaki roll for those of us who don't eat fish. Their sauces are all delicious and the portion size of rolls were much larger than expected.

Excellent portions and the quality of food was great.

We stopped by after a long hike and had some great Japanese food. We had chicken & beef combo teriyaki, shrimp yakisoba, crab rangoons, and the crispy chicken bites. Everything was tasty and delicious . The owner JT was so friendly, kept checking on us and took a great care of us.

This was the best sushi that I've had on the west coast.

The cuts of fish and the rolls are both larger then normal.

The fish is also fresh and very flavorful.
Everything that I had was amazing.

I live a 45 min drive away and I'm planning on making trips to Salem just to go here.

The servers and owner are friendly and the owner especially seems to really care about making sure everything is great.

The place is clean and looks well kept. Only points off I can take off is it has more of a American dinner feel than Japanese sushi joint.

But that only matters if you're trying to impress someone by taking them somewhere fancy.

TLDR: amazing quality sushi and good service. 10/10 would eat again

I ordered the Spicy chicken plate, it was AMAZING! Not super spicy. Large portion! The egg rolls were delicious! I think it beats Love Love Teriyaki out of the water. I have already ordered from J’s again because it’s so good and I highly recommend it!

This is by far our favorite place to eat! Always so fresh and you can tell that the ingredients are quality. I love that I can keep a bottle of J’s teriyaki sauce at home because they bottle it for you to purchase. I also have met the owner and he is so kind! I will always and forever eat here 💕 no one else has the flavor or the freshness that they do at J’s. The best teriyaki I have ever had!
