Got lots of brand name gear to choose from . Staff helpful and welcoming. They have an online website if you need to go that direction. Parking in front and side very limited but more parking 20 yards behind their business.

Feel really welcomed here. The owner is super nice, patient and knowledgeable. Offered us tons of advices after knowing it is going to us first beach fishing. Taught us step by step about how to beach fishing. Will definitely be back if we need anything else to fishing. Highly recommend.

Really helpful and treated me with love like family. I decided to try fishing so came to these guys and told them hook me up with a beginner setup, they pleasantly took care of everything. The gear, and tutorial . I though fishing stores to be mean to new guys , but really treated me kindly and supported me and wished me luck. Thank you guys deeply and especially the cashier woman who did the whole shopping thing for me. Thank you love

Cheaper than Amazon (in some cases, surprisingly, 20% less!) and EXPERT advice.

Seriously, I had believed on previous shopping trips that I was paying a bit of a premium but was willing to make that trade off for their guidance. However, after this last trip, I decided to check the prices on Amazon and I was most pleasantly surprised.

Before I moved to the Bay Area, I used to be a die-hard Bass Pro shopper. Now I'm not so sure.

As a first time shopper the woman in the counter wasn't quite friendly and warm, She could use a little charm and smile. At that point I didn't almost want to buy anything. An Elderly Asian guy approached me and started engaging in the most sincere manner and addressed my concerns. He was kind enough to guide and fit me with waders and I bought it. Not that just I bought a $100 Rod which I could have spend in AMAZON. It gets a little busy with covid restrictions and limited capacity. Now I just look for Jonah and I'm not planning to spend my money on any other tackle shop but this Store. Please support this business.

Jonah is great, he sure knows his fishing. Set my wife and I up with some nice braid on our reels. They have a great stock for all your fishing needs. Also, if you're a veteran you get discount which helps. Make sure to go check it out.

This place has an exellent tackle selection. The owner is full of knowledge and takes the time to teach you valuble fishing tips (if you listen). I even seen him save people money if they where buying overkill for the type of fishing they wanted to do. He is not going to sell you anything you don't need just to make a sale. I would recomend this place to anyone in need of fishing equiptment just be sure you have some time to spend because they do get busy at times. A place this good is definently worth waiting for. A little wait in the store beats a long wait at catching fish !!

Hi's set me up with a new rod and reel and provided excellent tips on taking care of the reel! My first baitcaster and they told me all I needed to know about keeping it in good shape. Will definitely do business again!

Today was my first visit to Hi’s Tackle Box. What an amazing place! I am new to fishing the west coast and specifically the Bay Area, so I had lots of questions. Jonah and the staff made me feel right at home reminding me of the great east coast tackle shops of my youth. Jonah set me up for sturgeon and surf fishing/crabbing and taught me how to tie leaders for sturgeon, rock fish and crab! What a generous teacher and one who truly lives by “buy a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he’ll eat for a lifetime.” Thanks, Jonah, and everyone at Hi’s. I’ll be back!

I've wanted to take up beach fishing for a while but had no idea where to start. I am so glad I went here yesterday! I don't know the name of the gentleman that helped me, but he was incredible. He didn't try to upsell me on super expensive gear and got me started with exactly enough to start fishing for crab. I didn't even know you could do that with a fishing pole. In any case, he explained everything to me - no one ever taught me how to fish at all - he showed be how to tie a palomar knot (which he had me video record on my phone for future reference,) gave me safety tips (never turn your back to the ocean, how to survive if you are swept out, etc.) and told me the best spots to go to in my area (San Francisco.) He really went above and beyond to get me set up. Today I got a fishing license and went out for the first time. None of the other guys fishing near me were catching anything and eventually left the beach. I stuck it out and about 30 minutes later, I caught my first Dungeness crab! It was big enough that I didn't need to throw it back! As I write this, that crab is boiling. I'm so excited to eat my very first catch. Hi's is awesome. They do take covid seriously (thank Dog) so they only allow five customers in the store at a time. It made me appreciate the time they spent with me even more. I can't say enough nice things about this shop.

The staff was really great in offering advice. Dropped us a few tips prior to heading out to Lexington Reservoir & Lake Berryessa. Needless to say, their recommendations did the trick!

The store itself is extremely well stocked with tackle, from rods and reels to all the best baits for all species from bass to billfish. Only a 25 minute drive from San Francisco this is a must stop for any fisherman.

These guys are great. I can't think of anyone that I'd rather spend my money with. Just ask and you will receive. They are solely responsible for most of my fishing knowledge. I recommend them 100%.

People here actually know how to fish. One of the last real tackle stores in existence anywhere around here. Well stocked and they can give useful advice on everything they sell. Prices are pretty competitive. They also do on the spot rod tip repairs for a few buck.

Helpful staff and regulars with a massive selection of tackle. If you're looking for something, chances are good that Hi has it.

Do have something you want to get in mind when you go though; If you're anything like me, you'll wind up spending 30 minutes browsing and just gawking at things.
