Car Wash Cafe & Catering

Excellent! Only one downside: it's too popular! But for us, it was a mere 10-minute wait to be seated on Father's Day for breakfast. My Huevos Rancheros was out of this world. The tostadas were perfectly fried and remained crispy amongst the fluffy eggs, wonderfully seasoned beans, and fresh toppings while I savored every bite. It looked like a work of art. I enjoyed it so much, I can't even remember what my husband ordered! But he left happy, and did not regret making the drive up from Gloucester for 'his' holiday breakfast, so it was a win-win. I did wish they had more space inside for seating, as it was very cramped. Despite this, the servers were friendly and attentive while pleasantly hustling around on that busy morning! One funny thing: if you have to wait for the restroom, there's a fountain in that vestibule; the sound of the water flowing from the fountain makes it really hard to stand there and wait! Maybe that fountain needs to be moved to... well, anywhere but THERE! Lol!

Car Wash Cafe did a great job catering our party. Communication was good, the food was wonderful as well l as wonderfully displayed. The servers that stayed were amazing. I highly recommend using their catering services as well as eating at the Cafe.

10/10 great local place with a fun twist with the car wash. Inside feels cozy and the staff is friendly and fun. Best grits I've ever had - definitely get the carrot cake for dessert.

This place was the highlight of my trip! The food was fantastic and came out quick, I got an omelette that was filled to bursting point with fresh ingredients, and I'm sorry I was only in town a couple of days because I wanted to come back for seconds.

On top of serving tasty food, the dining area was cute and intimate, with the majority of the kitchen open for view. This made me feel a little bit like I had been invited to sit at someone's kitchen table for breakfast. I loved this vibe, but seating and space is a little tight and it gets crowded quick.

We were helped quickly and my coffee cup was kept full through my breakfast, the staff was super friendly, and I was happy to see separate tip jars for both waiters and the kitchen.

If you happen to find yourself passing through, don't pass it by!

Excellent specials. Grouper sandwhich special was very good. Beer battered Cod was also good. Reuben was also good. Everyone's plate was empty at the end of the meal. We also each had a piece of cake. Each cake was excellent. Our dogs enjoyed a hot dog as we sat outside on the patio. I rarely leave a review. The service and food were excellent so I decided to write this review in hopes others will come and enjoy.

I went to Kilmarnock Virginia and had one of the lunch specials. My meal consisted of a unsweetened ice tea. It came in a stemmed wine glass. I had the crab patty sandwich. The crab patty was a little smaller than I expected but had a good taste with plenty of crab meat. The sandwich bread was toasted. The side dish I had was cold slaw. It was home made so to say. Although rather small it tasted good. The price was what you would expect for a written up tourest restaurant spendy. If you want to wash your car afterwards they have a working car wash with 3 bays

We had the Chesapeake Benedict, thank goodness for the home fries, I was tempted to lick the plate otherwise. Perfectly prestented rich way to enjoy crab cakes. Service was prompt, but not intrusive.

Great cafe and place for breakfast and lunch ! Good quality ingredients and local seafood. Great staff.

We stopped by for breakfast based on good reviews and were very glad we did! The entire staff was so friendly and accomodating and the food was delicious. We tried 2 of the crab specials (omelet and eggs benedict) and both were great. We are only in the area for a few days, but considering a return trip for breakfast tomorrow.

This is an unassuming little cafe that literally has a carwash. The food is outstanding and the service is also. I had a blackened fish sandwich with Cole slaw on wheat. That is not on the menu which speaks to the level of service at the Cafe. You can indeed have it your way! One day I'll save enough room for a piece of their home made cake!

It was very hot inside, but we found a table outside they cleared for us. The tomato basil soup was yummy. My turkey Reuben was very tasty too.

Who would have thought a Cafe at a car wash would be so fantastic! We tried the blueberry pancakes, the fritata, and the eggs Benedict. Each item was delicious!! The service was amazing - the staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was a pleasure to watch the kitchen staff at work, preparing the masterpieces. We can't wait to go back already!

Food, price and service is awesome. We visit this area yearly and make it a point to eat at the Car Wash often.

Great staff, great food! Their burger was pronounced better than the “competition” which we tried yesterday. Unique location. Small but inviting space with outside dining available.
Highly recommend.
