I am a huge fan of this local bookstore and try to support them as frequently as possible. Every interaction I have had with staff has been very positive, both in person and over the phone. Audrey (my namesake haha) gave me great book recommendations on disability justice the last time I visited. I appreciate that they demonstrate their values by still requiring masks in store. It makes me feel much more safe and comfortable as an immunocompromised person to take my time and browse their amazing and diverse collection.

I love this bookstore and have been coming for over a year now. The negative reviews with no real logic or critical thinking skills speaks more about the person leaving them than the staff and store itself. They’re in the same category of people that still doesn’t understand the Barbie movie after watching it.

Staff is great, I always feel safe going. Plus they have 100% accommodated any books I want to order that they don’t have in stock.

I knew I'd fall in love with this store just by the window art. I felt welcomed and at home. Very friendly and helpful. There was such a wide variety of beautiful books, art, and gifts. Every black childrens book on my internet wishlist was in store! My son sat and read books in the children's section for 30 minutes, he was so cozy. I can't wait to go back.

This a small but mighty gem of a bookstore. They have a great selection of titles to choose from. There’s something for everyone. IThe shirts and trinkets sold there are also awesome. I wish I wasn’t at the end of a vacation or I’d buy the whole store and take it home with me.

Visited 7-17-21 and was greeted warmly. We were allowed to peruse in peace. Salesperson was knowledgeable and friendly. Titles and categories addressing so many diverse needs and issues. A true Austin treasure. Parking can be tight. Convenient location. Pleasing aroma in the store.

I love BookWoman and make sure to come here every time I visit Austin!

They make good on their promise that they will have books by POC women as well as LGBTQ folks which is always a plus. Even though I frequent my local bookstores out of state, I always find something unique here. They also have stickers, cards, and clothes with feminist sayings on them.

Staff is overall pretty hands off unless you know them so expect a quiet, peaceful browse unless you approach them first. Personally, I prefer to browse at my leisure so I’m ok with that.

Cutest local book shop with great selection of books and other adorable items. I liked the heavy emphasis on Lgbtqia inclusion & political activism.

I called ahead of time to see if they had Mexican Gothic in stock (they did!) and the nice employee there volunteered a discounted book because it was only slightly damaged. I never would have found it otherwise!

I’ll definitely be coming back here to support this lovely small business!

I’ve been coming to BookWoman for many years, and I’m thankful this small business continues to stand strong. It’s a pillar of Austin and a small haven where I can get lost. It’s my happy place! I love the selection and ongoing curated themes. The children’s section includes so many amazing, diverse titles, and I owe the coolness of my home library to BookWoman. I’ve also placed many orders for books that have arrived promptly. I appreciate chats with Susan and hearing her talk about all kinds of books and authors. There’s always a new recommendation to add to my list. I support local and hope others remember this place for gifts, holidays, or some self care. What a treasure to have right here in Austin!

This store is one of my happy places. They really know what they're doing here, they care SO MUCH, and they really do everything they can for their customers.

As a disabled queer person who is high risk for COVID just as much now as I was in 2020, it means the world to me that BookWoman cares enough about accessibility that not only do they stock a section on disability advocacy and activism, they still require masks in 2023. I feel seen when I am there, I feel like my presence and stories matter.

I love chatting with the employees. Audrey has been especially friendly and helpful, and their book recs have been spot on. I come here for gifts and self care treats, and sometimes just to BE. It's a very important place, and I'm proud to support them on Libro.fm too!

This book store is wonderful! The owner Susan was extremely helpful and pleasant. She was highly informative and is a pillar in the Austin community. Her bookstore has been in business for 46years. The door is a quaint bookworms nook dream! I suggest everyone visit this store to get a taste of true Austin culture and history. 100% enjoyed my visit and lesson in Austin herstory.
