Pier House Restaurant Bar Orange Beach

This place is a hidden gem on the state park side of Orange Beach! The entire place looks like new construction but our waitress told us they had been open for three years. The pride they take in keeping their space clean, fresh, and inviting really really shows and makes a difference!
The food quality is absolutely incredible and something you’d find straight out of a Gordon Ramsay kitchen. The presentation was 5 stars and the taste was even better! My wife ordered the shrimp and grits and I ordered the Pier House burger and it was delicious and tastes so fresh!
To tie it all together the service was fantastic! The staff seemed to really care about making sure you had a great experience. She made recommendations on specials for the night and everything that came out looked amazing!
DON’T MISS THIS PLACE! Maybe make them the last meal of your trip — they’ll set the bar so high no other restaurant on the beach can compete!

We are here every day of our trip. Our bartenders, Shannon and Patrick, were the best! The owner, John Chapman aka Chappy, is an absolute delight and awesome chef. I ate raw oysters for the first time and loved them 😋 All the food was to die for!

We live here on the Gulf and have been to many restaurants in the area. The Pier House has by far has the best food I have had in a long time! The owner and chef Chappy does amazing things with the flavors in the food! Our meal, soup and dessert were EXCELLENT!! It was well worth the price we paid for dinner.

Some of the best food I’ve ever had! And so well presented. Definitely thought this restaurant was one you dress up for, but come to find out you can dress casually too.

I come to Gulf Shores annually for the holidays. It is with zero exaggeration that say this: if I came around next year and find out Pier House wasn’t here anymore, I would be DEVASTATED. This is, without a doubt, the best restaurant at the gulf.

For my visit, I enjoyed the fried Calamari, the Pier Platter, and the Paneed Pork.

The Calamari: Coated with a very light, gluten free breading; perfectly balanced in texture and taste. So tender it almost melts in your mouth. Would highly recommend.

The Platter: Calamari, Shrimp, Oysters, and a trout topped with fries and hush puppies. The shrimp was again, very tender, and the calamari was perfect. I didn’t particularly enjoy the oysters, however i tend not to enjoy them anyways so this is hardly a detriment to the overall eating experience. I don’t think my platter came with hush puppies, but to be Frank, the rest of the meal was so delicious that I didn’t even notice. Would highly recommend.

The Paneed Pork: The pork was cooked perfectly. Tender, juicy, and generously breaded with a Katsu-style crust. Topped with a lemon-butter sauce that was both wonderfully aromatic and equally tastey. This came with a side of what I assume was an Alfredo pasta, which was also amazing. The pasta was cooked Al Dente and the sauce coated the noodles nicely.

As a side note, I was curious to order the Paneed during dinner hours as it’s normally a lunch special and Cappy personally delivered the meal. This is a testament to the overall hospitality of the staff, which is to say you can expect to receive exceptional, above and beyond service any time of the day.

10/10 gluten free recommended. 10/10 for those with less sensitive diets. You should eat here.

Fresh, new and clean. Pretty seaside murals. Excellent food and service. The crab on crab on crab special was superb.

Absolutely amazing food! We got the fish sampler wish tasted so fresh and tender, the lamb lollipops which came with a lingonberry butter sauce, and fish Po-boy which came on a very soft, fresh roll. Classic margaritas were very tasty. The service was so quick and friendly. And the entire building was decorated with beautiful paintings made by the owners sister. Everyone was so nice, very happy we stopped here!

My husband and I ate lunch today at Pier House in Orange Beach our great friend and chef John chappy Chapman greeted us with open arms and provided the most wonderful lunch that we could ever expect. Our server Patrick was beyond fabulous. We have had the pleasure of knowing this chef for over three decades, and will continue to enjoy his food. This is the best kept around.

We love good food and this restaurant was excellent! Under new management apparently, service was good, no wait time for an early dinner for our large party of 7. Highly recommend the marinated crab claws, red fish special, and the desserts! Also had some outstanding Cabernet. And the cost of our dinner was more than reasonable, couldn’t believe it! Compliments to the Chef!

The resturant itself is beautiful, clean and a comfortable atmosphere. The host was so sweet and seated my family of five with no wait. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner of the restaurant and he greeted us with open arms. We dined in at 3pm it was no wait. We ordered the fried fish with fries and ceaser salads, calamari, kids Burger with fries and kids chicken tenders with fries. The adult alcohol drinks were so delicious, our waiter Patrick was very informative and recommended the blue Berry maragtita. The blue berry margarita was garnished with blue real bule berry's and was mixed to perfect!!!! We also ordered the water melon margarita which also came with Watermelon garnish aswell. Patrick was great waiter/bartender. Thank you to Chef Roy a for our lovely plated food it was seasoned just right and absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back.

Allergy friendly (seafood and celiac). Homemade fries are amazing. Wonderful atmosphere. Love the handcrafted woodworking. Would come back again with family, friends, and children, too. My understanding that they are under new management and they are doing a wonderful job. Also, they have great happy hour specials.

Everything was 10/10. From the drinks, to the food and dessert, to even the music and decorations. You could tell the owner put their time into this place. I got the chicken alfredo from the kids menu not expecting much and was pleasantly surprised. The chicken was very well seasoned and so was the pasta. The cheesecake egg rolls were so fresh, and the whipped cream and even ice cream was hand made. The owner came and even spoke to us, and just all around great vibes and food.

This is a great place to sit down and have a really nice seafood meal. (There are other non-seafood options like filet.) The royal reds were cooked to perfection. The sauce on the cold crab claw appetizer was delicious. The bisque was as well. The taste of the fried seafood platter was amazing, and nothing beats how tasty Gulf shrimp are. The presentation of the dessert and everything else for that matter was beautiful. We loved our waitress, Melissa who was very professional and personable. Definitely a recommended restaurant visit!

I made a reservation at the last minute for Christmas Eve and they were so gracious to allow us to reserve a table for two. Once we arrived our waiter was really hospitable and knowledgeable about the 3 entree specials and appetizers. The specials consisted of duck, red fish, and crab. My Husband and I ordered the baked oysters, the crab entree special, and the red fish entree special. We were NOT disappointed. The food appetizer, cocktail, and entrees arrived quickly, and they were all appealing. The cocktail was a watermelon skinny Rita and it was amazing. Not to mention the baked oysters being some of the best oysters we have ever had. The red fish was moist and grilled to perfection and the crab entree was so decadent. We ended the dinner with KeyLime pie. The dessert came with TWO slices of pie and homemade whipped cream. Again, ALL of the food was amazing. The entire night the customer service was amazing, the owner, the chef, and bartender clearly took pride in what they made, and everyone was happy to be servicing us. I can't wait to visit this restaurant again since I am from Atlanta, GA. Thanks for a wonderful experience and Christmas dinner.

Wonderful atmosphere, the owner Chappy was very friendly and our waiter Bailey was five star .
We had the filet mignon absolutely delicious, we had a side of fried shrimp , the best I’ve ever eaten.
The salad was fresh and everything was best described as a work of art .
Yes I topped it off with homemade key lime pie , again a delicious work of art.
The watermelon mojito also refreshing and delicious.

I had the grilled red fish, and let me tell you, it was absolutely amazing. I felt the presentation was spectacular, everything on the plate needed to be exactly where it was for a wonderful dining experience. For dessert, I had the fantastic display called bread pudding. It was visually stunning and absolutely delicious. This place knows what looks and tastes good.

Not in Pensacola, but midway between Orange Beach and Gulf Shores. Went to there for the first time today. They are under new ownership. Great happy hour (wine and beer) with Murder Point oysters for $13 a dozen!! Cajun Popcorn (very nicely fried crawfish tails with a tasty remoulade) was $10. Crab ceviche was fantastic (not on happy hour though). Service was wonderful and the owner, Carrie, was delightful. We will definitely be back.

Astoundingly Delicious Beach Restaurant Meals — emphasis on creole and Cajun dishes, especially seafood, but also Mediterranean specialties and some great steaks. Light and airy environment, with pastel colors. Best meal we have ever had on the Gulf Coast!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed everything from beginning to end! We started with Fried Green Tomatoes for an appetizer, and they were perfect! He had the special (Red fish with mashed potatoes and veggies), and I had the Creamy Crab Bisque. The food was phenomenal to us, we ate it all up. I also had the Mama Juana which was very good! Our waiter was incredibly kind and attentive. The owner talked to us a good bit and was a bright personality to be around. He even walked out of the door to thank us for coming as we got in the car to leave. I would definitely recommend coming here! It may be a little pricey, but we did not mind it for the amazing service, food, and atmosphere we received!

Me and my wife ate here after wanting to try it for quite awhile. We were not disappointed! The margaritas, crab ceviche, and entrees were super good! Don’t forget about the cheesecake egg rolls! One of the best deserts I’ve ever had. Patrick was our server and the service was top notch! He is super kind, friendly, and truly wants you to enjoy your meal. If possible, ask to sit at his table and he will take great care of you. We will definitely be back!
