Shoppers Drug Mart

Awesome drug store! Shoppers Drug Mart is the go to place when all the other stores are closed or for a quick in and out when you are in a rush. Parking is ample and for an even easier convenience, there is street parking on the side which avoids the busy parking lot. Shoppers carries all brands, baby items and toys, has a grocery, pop and chip section, along with a post office and photo center. A very nice store!

Today was exceptional I recently started a new medication which is administered as an injection Im very leery when it comes to needles but the pharmacist Nikki explained it and made me feel comfortable ! Well the pharmacist called me today to check in on how my last few days went with the new medication

Is everyone else talking about the same Shoppers that I go to? Lmaoo. I've been going to the pharmacy for a decade, every month or few months, and I've neeever had a poor experience. They've always been very kind, informative, and accurate with times.

Interesting small town. I drove 1 hour from Windsor to here to just buy weekly milk and eggs, cuz during covid19 I have few things to do. Weekend $1.89 eggs are good but idk if they still have this deal now.

Decided to give pharmacy another try with my families prescriptions , So happy to see new staff at this location as ive had bad experiances in past at this location. Already see huge improvement in pharmacy service compared to last year with what appears to be a much more efficient team. Staff was extremely helpful and quick to answer my questions. Didn't wait long in line to pick up script.

Update 05 Dec 2023: I went to pick up balance of script and was pleasantly surprised by a bright and personable Erik, who confidently changed the status in the system show what really was happening and was being recorded properly and… presto. I got the non-generic without being charged. I’ll upgrade my rating from a 1 to a 4 based on the manner in which this was resolved.

Update 04 Dec 2023: Got a call from a Pharmacy Employee (Pharmacist maybe??? ). Again, they cannot figure out their own systems. 2 weeks ago they completed a small part of an important prescription and promised to supply the balance in a few days. Two weeks later and the meds are still on backorder (Not an SDM issue). I have asked them to fill my script with the non-generic version of the medication. They cannot figure out what they gave or what they owe me. Again GO ELSEWHERE if you value your health and/or sanity.

Original Message: It is not a good place to get your prescriptions. They are not organized and seem to not be able to add 2+2. Always something wrong with the fulfilment of my scripts or they just don’t have the medications at that location. There are places much more efficient and effective than this Shoppers. Go elsewhere.

I gave 4 stars because the staff are usually very helpful, but my experience yesterday made me angry.
I was in to do some shopping before work. Was paying cash, and as usual there was no sign of a cashier to assist. As I stood at #2 check out, with 2 people behind me, an employee arrived. Instead of coming to cash register, she stood at self check out and insisted that we use that. Lady behind me, who was paying debit, said she wanted to have personal attention instead of a machine. The reply from the employee was "I'm a person and a cashier" and the customer was told to be nice. That comment was not required as customer was quite polite. I spoke up and said I'm paying cash. I was informed that I was at wrong check out and was told to move. Not too politely either.
This employee could have said to us that she understands that not everyone likes those machines, but she is glad to help. That's customer service. I work in retail so I know what I'm talking about.
I know that self check outs are the way to go these days, but Essex has a big senior population and most seniors don't like to use them. Your employees should understand this and adapt to whatever situation arises.
