The Hive - East Coast Kitchen & Coffee Bar

We are transplants from New Jersey and finding pork roll and marble rye out here is next to impossible, so this place gets 5 stars just for having that!
Love the atmosphere in here, it’s very cozy feeling and nicely decorated. Service is good. Food is delicious! Pork Roll slices are thick! Marble rye is perfection. Potatoes and eggs were cooked very well- again, so good!
Their speciality coffees/lattes and bakery items upstairs are on the pricey end, just as a heads up, but the meal itself was well priced and worth every penny. Always look forward to going back!

Wonderful little place with positive vibes! Kind staff and thriving environment, and the coffee shop upstairs is more chill but still uplifting. We had breakfast before going up to coffee shop to study (perfect location for it). Our server Kennedi was quick, attentive and caring! Will definitely be back! 😊

Stopped on a whim with my husband while in the area and so happy that we did. The atmosphere and the food were so thoughtfully crafted. We enjoyed all of the artwork, and our server was so friendly. The honey bee latte was S U P E R B. And on our way out, we noticed that they have their own bee hives on the property - so cool! We would absolutely come back again, and next time, we plan to try some of their lunch options.🐝

My husband & we’re visiting Kentucky & looking for a place to have a nice breakfast. Wow were we impressed with the food the vibe of the place and the service. I got the pancakes and honestly it is the best I’ve ever had no exaggeration. My husband was super pleased with his food too. The owner stopped by our table & shared her story of what inspired her to create the restaurant & it just made us appreciate the experience more. I hope the band 311 comes in sometime & sees the tribute to them. Back to the food it was so delicious and I would definitely recommend coming to dine. Also go upstairs and see the bakery and upstairs area it’s super cute! Our waitress was amazing she had several tables & we lacked for nothing. She was on it! This place is a must if you are visiting & if you’re lucky enough to live there I would suggest making it there you won’t be disappointed!

Such a cute place! I absolutely love the atmosphere and coziness of The Hive! The staff were friendly and helpful when ordering. Met a friend for breakfast and ordered one of the breakfast bowls and a white mocha latte. So yummy! Really, you can't go wrong with any of the options! Would definitely recommend and will definitely dine here again!!!

I'm a picky eater and it's really hard for me to try new food let alone a new restaurant. I will DEFINITELY be coming back here! Good, inexpensive food! Service was great and the atmosphere was so laid back. Can't wait until my next visit.

Had heard so many good things about this place from people in my community etc. and it was very good! I love that they have a pitcher option for the mimosas and it was served as mix your own--which always makes me happy cause I like my bubbly drinks with a splash of juice. The food is reminiscent of a Jersey diner/deli and we were hoping for a more Urban NY breakfast. All of the staff that worked on Thursday morning were extremely friendly and kind, they brought my son a fruit bowl while he waited for his pancake and it made him so happy. And when he finished his meal and got impatient with how slow we ate, they gave him some paper and crayons. We also checked out the cafe upstairs and it's so cozy up there! Thanks so much for your hospitality Hive.

Such a great local restaurant with fantastic service and amazing food. I ordered the honey butter waffle with blueberries and it was divine! Our server was very hospitable and didn’t rush my friend and me. Very sweet hostess as well. Will return and recommend to others. Want to try the pizza next time - it looked delectable going to the next table.

Absolutely adorable restaurant and coffee shop. Most of the public area is the Old building, complete with exposed brick and beautiful wood trim and details. The food is excellent and the coffee is so good. They also display art for sale and unique murals throughout.

Went to the airport and stopped at the hive for breakfast as it was one of the few restaurants open at 7/8am! 😊 I really enjoyed the chocolate waffles! Best part of this experience was the server. I am Thai and she ended up being Thai too! We had a nice conversation and it made the whole experience so fun and friendly.

Such a cozy atmosphere on a freezing day! Service from Carrie (sp?) was great. She went way overboard to please one picky guest. All of our food was outstanding. I can't wait to come back and try one of the many, many options on their menu! I also want to come with a friend and sit upstairs at the coffee bar.

Such a great place. The inside gives a small modern coffee shop type of atmosphere that’s appealing to the eyes. The food was great, especially the Bourbon Spiked French Toast, highly recommend. Waitress was stellar and had a wonderful time for brunch visiting from out of state.

The ambiance gives a lighter vibe that is reminiscent of coffee shops. The place was busy with numerous discussions going about.

The Kentuckian omelette was filled to the brim, felt more like Texas size. Biscuit was crispy with a denser center; a little fluffiness would have been nice, but solid nevertheless. Solid spot, will be back one day.

This place is super cute and has the best of everything, food/drink/service wise. I had an omelet, and my kids had the breakfast sandwiches and another omelet. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. We'll for sure be back!

Following our trend to look for a local dining spot when we travel, we found The Hive - East Coast Kitchen. It appeared to be a converted/modified house which gave it a different, comfortable vibe. The large number of cars in the parking lot was a sign that we were making a wise choice.

We were quickly seated and our orders taken. My mother in law ordered the Honey Waffle, my wife ordered the Basic Egg Plate (two over-easy eggs, bacon, pan fried potatoes and toast) and I ordered the Country Boy breakfast (a biscuit and gravy with goetta). I admit my choice was because I wanted to try something new as I had never tried goetta).

The food arrived surprisingly fast since it was so busy. All three meals were great. The waffle was slightly crisp on the outside with a tender center. My wife’s over-easy eggs were perfectly cooked. The bacon and fried potatoes were nicely cooked. And her white toast was a great hearty slice. My biscuit and gravy was equally good, but I admit that I didn’t enjoy the goetta. Apparently goetta is local (Cincinnati) German-inspired dish that was a way of “stretching” the sausage by adding some grains to it back when the locals didn’t have enough meat. I appreciate the historical significance and wish I liked it better, but regretfully I did not.

My only complaint is that the server took a while to refill my coffee, but it appeared she was dealing with a lot of tables, so that was a minor flaw.

Twice throughout the day we all commented on how much we enjoyed our breakfast, so I think that shows how much we liked it.

Food was phenomenal. My family and I went twice within 3 days. Had the best time with the decorations and staff. Jupiter is a excellent server. I believe the most memorable thing was the fact the owner was serving us at our table
She created a bacon egg and cheese on a croissant for us. It's not on the menu. It's been 2 weeks since and I've felt special since.

So, my wife has celiac, and we were in northern KY. We found it online and decided to try it. Glad we did. It's a cute little privately owned diner. Our server, Kennedy was awesome, sweet and inviting. The food was great.
We will definitely go back again.

It's definitely not a skimpy breakfast! Our server was super awesome as well as helpful, seeing as how it was our new time here! I got the mills garden bowl with potatoes mushrooms spinach and cheese. My husband got the Kentuckian omlete with a side of bacon cheese grits and Goetta. Super filling. Great portions. Definitely hand this amazing place.

Fun little hidden gem! Food was fast and yummy! I had the seasonal rose honey latte which was delicious. Waitress was very friendly. Definitely would come back if in town again.
