Thank you, Jess and Walmart in Collinsville, IL, for saving my son’s birthday cake. My baby boy was begging for a Halloween themed birthday party all year. If only you knew how grateful I am for your kindness and generosity. In January 2021, we lost his father to an asthma attack. We attended his funeral the weekend before we moved into what was supposed to be our first family home. It’s been an uphill battle since. With no family support and no partner I work myself to the bone to pay for the house, the car, the daycare, and somehow manage to scrape by. We’re celebrating my son’s 5th birthday on Saturday. It will be the first time we celebrate his birthday in our first family home. It’s a big deal. I’m attempting to make this place feel like home when daddy will never walk through the doors.
I worked extra hours, loaded up my online stores, took every side gig I could and was able to buy him two modest gifts and party favors. I got lucky and sold a bull horn Thursday morning. Cash and carry. His party is on Saturday. With the last of my money, I went to Walmart hoping to find a cake on short notice. I found the perfect 8 inch round with Halloween colors for $10! Jess wrote, “Happy Boo Day” on the top for me. I used the remainder of my money to buy cupcakes for the other kids we invited from daycare & school. Right after I checked out, as I’m walking through the exit doors, half of the icing on the cake slid off! I was on lunch and couldn’t immediately walk back to the bakery. I called to see if they could somehow repair it then ran home to put the cake in the freezer until after work.
I showed back up at 5 PM and explained what happened. I told Jess I didn’t have the cash to buy anything else and there was no other cake like that one. It was true. That $10 was all I had to spend. She tells me, “Give me 20 minutes and I’ll get this fixed for you”. When I returned, she handed me a 1/4 sheet, fully decorated Halloween cake. I’m still crying about it. Happy tears.
I can’t tell you enough. The good people at Walmart & my hero in the bakery, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart! You didn’t just give us a cake, you gave my boy something special he’ll always remember fondly. You gave me hope that better days are coming and maybe, just maybe, this house can feel like HOME after all.

Awesome store that is actually stocked pretty much all the time. This is my goto Walmart for any and everything. Best prices and products around the area. Very well maintained and organized unlike Target where everything is everywhere. Public restrooms, handicap parking and accommodations with electric wheelchairs. Best place for your everyday needs!

We went to this Walmart to use the Elwctrify American EV chargers and take a break on a road trip. It is easy on easy off the highway. Bathrooms clean. We bought Subway sandwiches inside the store and that was a positive experience. Overall, the store was pleasant and well maintained. Close to many other businesses as well

Besides the stock throughout the store being put away wrong all the time and the occasional fight with cashiers about a pricing issue and whether or not they are going to sell for the price listed, regardless if the stock was in the wrong location.

Visited the eye center. The eye doctor was very informative and nice person. You have to make an appointment for the eye exam but not to be fitted or pock up your glasses. No insurance, no problem, the price is very low, and also, they give an eye exam to kids 2 and up

The gentleman in electronics (I believe his name was Billy) was helpful as my husband purchased a phone. And Sue (door greeter) was super nice. Talked to her, as we were leaving, for about 5 minutes. She definitely extended great customer service.

I do all my shopping here and I use the savings catcher and so far I’ve gotten almost $400 back from shopping there. I recommend it to everyone ! Can’t beat free money.

Always find great deals at Walmart, friendly staff and great service

Went in with a list( I know, it's Walmart). Stuck to it for the most part. I have Walmart+ so I scan as I shop and then I just scan the QR code at the self-checkout and pay and leave.

Customer service can fix your problems. Be patient and focus

Simple and easy to shop around, usually quick checkouts via; both self checkout and Walmart assistance...average wait time (if line is 6 or less) is 10-15 minutes. Decent prices throughout inventory, usually enough product on sale to make any visit useful; in case if Walmart is currently out of intended-to-purchase merchandise. This Walmart usually has a good circulation of inventory, so most visits will have all of what's needed per visitation.
