Excellent Coffeehouse in San Leandro.

We visited Zocalo Coffeehouse on a Saturday morning at around 10AM for coffee & brunch.

The coffeehouse has an excellent atmosphere - large number of tables, huge windows for natural light, and excellent furnishing.

We ordered a Veggie Breakfast Sando, Avocado Toast, Borgia and White Chocolate Mocha at the counter before we found a table and sat down. Since the place was busy, our order took a while, but that was to be expected.

We enjoyed our food and beverages - the coffee was excellent (we actually bought a bag of coffee on our way out), and the sandwich and avocado toast were well seasoned with fresh ingredients and bakery products.

Beautiful coffee house with plenty of seating available inside. Bought their ascender home blend beans, it's really aromatic and freshly grounded.
Street parking is available but limited

Atmosphere was so nice to start! The workers were so sweet and attentive and the drinks and toast was delicious! I got an iced matcha latte with vanilla as well as the avocado toast.

Healthy, hearty breakfast. Cozy place, went on Sunday lunchtime. Lots of street free parking

Cozy coffee shop. Delicious coffee and pastries. Really friendly staff. Gorgeous paintings also. Will definitely be back next time I visit Oakland

Update 9-2023
Looks like they did a big overhaul. Child area has returned and looks very nice with new kid stuff including a little kitchen. All new tables and chairs, Wi-Fi seems reliable so far. They even have a board games up at the front now. And shirts for sale.

They have pastries, sandwiches, excellent coffee options, and offer packaged coffee beans that you can purchase.
Easy to find parking and its in a safe area and plentiful power jacks .

The ambiance, coffee and service here was top tier. I got the crème brûlée latte and it did not disappoint. The pumpkin muffin is to die for and I’m not really a huge fan of pumpkin flavored muffins. My partner ordered it and well, he had to go get another one because I wasn’t giving his own muffin back to him 😅 we will definitely be coming back to this cute cafe when we are back in the Bay Area.

Excellent local coffee shop, decent coffee, pretty good food. The menus changes a bit due to Covid.

The staff is really cautious about the Covid screening, you need to wash your hand before entering the store, the check your temp if you wanna dine in. Also, all the tables are separate and maintain a decent distance.

Only thing is lack of parking.

Wonderful community oriented, independently owned coffeehouse. Beautiful, spacious interior. A great place to meet friends or neighbors for coffee and conversation. Sandwiches, scones, muffins, bagels and other food items also served.

Great environment, good menu and a nice coffee house feel. I love that it is women owned and how everyone who works there checks in with you periodically to make sure everything is going okay. I enjoy coming here to study or sit and people watch while sipping a well made beverage.

First time and definitely not the last! Came here with my GF on a Sunday around 10:30 a.m. No line and "seat yourself" tables available inside and out. We were in search of breakfast and pleasantly surprised with this local coffeehouse with some unique eats! We had the lemon ricotta waffles and Breakfast Biscuit (jam, Harvari cheese, scrambled egg, avocado) and side of the perfectly ripened strawberries. I had the crème brûlée latte and my GF had the Derby Cold Brew (fresh mint with simple syrup, house cold brew and cream). We ooohed and aaaahed, and our tummies were happy!

LOVE this place!! Had their Cajun chicken salad and I was so impressed. Well priced, portioned and delicious!! Didn't even need the dressing it was so good. Staff are super nice and it's breezy and comfortable sitting there on a hot summer day. Can't wait to come back!! And I live on the way in SF 😅

Amazing atmosphere in this old school Cafe. Perfect place to study, write or otherwise collaborate. Friendly staff, tasty drinks. Good stuff all around.

Went here 3x during our brief trip to the area. Great coffees & teas with a variety of milk options, fantastic breakfast and lunch sandwiches fresh2order, and an overall great atmosphere to study, ready, chat and appreciate local artwork

Great location close to all kinds of things. The ambiance is incredible and there is plenty of seating. They have a kids area in the back.

Such an amazing atmosphere. I sat there for a couple hours catching up with my friend and it was so nice. There was so much detail and personality to the place, I loved it. Also the best chocolate chip cookie

Great place for coffee and conversation. Friendly staff who really know how to make an excellent double espresso. Great lunch menu. Perfect place for an afternoon pick-me-up. Don't forget to tip the musicians out on the sidewalk.

Very nice spot. A little pricey but you get better quality for it.

Large and airy, with sunlights and lots of plants.
The coffee was good, and the vegan BLAT sandwich is tasty.

They also sell some nice gift / treat type items such as sparkling wine and planters.

For COVID, they have patio seating, a contactless sink and soap in the entrance, and contactless payment.

They also have compostable options.

Service is always VERY friendly.

I'm looking forward to trying the lemon ricotta waffles!

Great coffee, beautiful space. Owner is wonderful. Lucky to live a few blocks away
