The Essex Resort & Spa

This gem of a hotel is everything advertised. Excellent rooms, very clean and quiet with lots of offerings. The dining experience was very much enjoyed. A stones throw is the Essex Experience with creative Vermont owned stores, restaurants and brewery. Although our stay didn't match entertainment dates, we look forward to future visits. Staff were very knowledgeable and helpful to enjoy the area.

This hotel was absolutely amazing, clean, and beautiful. Very homey feel and although I was there for business, I would love to go back on my own and to enjoy with family. Kari was my server at The Tavern and she was absolutely phenomenal. Food was also great!! I had the Eggs your way and a side order of pancakes.

Beautiful rooms. Wonderful staff. Incredible location. Amazing food. This was our second time staying here and I would recommend it to anyone coming to Burlington.

Very reasonable pricing for rooms. Nice staff, large rooms decorated like a home bedroom. Our room was like a small studio apt. The pool area is great. The humidity control in the pool was perfect. Sometimes indoor pools are dripping with wall and window water, not here. Outdoor hottub was great. Being able to stay on the property to eat and relax was a bonus. We will be coming back, and would recommend this place 100%.

A wonderful weekend getaway. The hotel was excellent and the staff were very friendly. The attention to details is what made the experience. The free hot chocolate stand in the evenings was a delicious treat. The wood fire outside the front entrance was welcoming. Rooms were clean and well equipped. The electric fireplace made for a cozy experience. Definitely recommend staying here.

My partner and I took a last minute getaway here and we had a lovely time. The food was great, nice and clean, and lots to do in the area. We will definitely think about coming back again sometime soon.

This Place is Beautifully Awesome. I had a very enjoyable time and experience here. Worth every penny and ill definitely be coming back here in the future when the weather gets warmer 😎. Such an amazing place to stay when visiting Burlington/Essex, VT! The staff were phenomenal and such a pleasure to be around. Everyone was extremely kind and so helpful! The restaurants in the hotel: the junction and the tavern, were excellent so delicious! My friends and I had the best stay and will definitely be returning in the future!

Fantastic stay! Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming. The restaurants and amenities were great, we would highly recommend for families and couples alike. Located in a very nice area with many things to do.

My husband and I stayed for the week in a culinary king and it was perfect for us. All of the staff were welcoming and helpful. The spa is great, too! The indoor pool, steam shower and hot tub were great! We had meals at the Tavern and Junction and all were wonderful! The kitchenette and corner stove added to the experience. The afternoon cookies were delicious, too! Excellent and relaxing experience - we'll be back again!

We live in Vermont and this is the only hotel we will stay at! The staff are are friendly and helpful and so much to do around here! This is our second time visiting and already booked a few more days for a Valentines Date! We love the Essex Resort & Spa!!

I just wish we would have stayed longer. Beautiful hotel, great food, incredible location and impressive service.

My wife and I went a friends wedding here, and the staff was EXTREMELY kind, caring, efficient and helpful. They were attentive to all of our requests and needs, and even though we had to have a plan B indoor wedding because of weather, we never missed a beat. It was absolutely amazing from start to finish. We could not thank the staff enough for helping to make this wedding absolutely amazing! We didn’t stay here, so I can’t review the rooms, etc- but from what we did experience it was 5 star!

It was a beautiful December, and it was an even more beautiful property. The staff were knowledgeable and extremely friendly and helpful. I cannot recommend this resort enough!

On our way through VT to Maine we started having car issues and had to stop to get it repaired. Luckily the closest hotel from where we were stopped was The Essex. What a wonderful experience! When they found out what had happened to us they gave us a wonderful rate on our room, which was so cozy and comfortable. We loved the bakery samples and the pool was fantastic! Every staff member we came across was friendly and went out of their way to take care of us. We were able to park our camper on the property, spend the day at the pool after we checked out of our room and were still waiting for our truck to be repaired, and even gave my husband a free shuttle to the car dealership AFTER we were already checked out. We will definitely be coming back to The Essex! Instead of losing a vacation day to car trouble we ended up having a wonderful and fun experience that added to our vacation! Thank you Essex!

Honeymooning with my hubs and the room had complimentary champagne which was very sweet of them. We did a spa day, husband had never had a massage before and the morning of woke up with serious sniffles, he wanted to cancel bc he was unsure how people would feel with him there and touching. Jackson took such amazing care of him, treated him with dignity and massaged him into a healing relaxation he needed. I can tell Jackson is an incredible masseuse and would highly recommend him for anyone. I was shy about having a guy myself but Joseph was amazing and made me feel at ease immediately. The room is cozy and clean and the staff at every level are amazing to talk with and I can tell they want you to feel at home and taken care of

As I’ve told the Team, it would have been so easy to complain about any little negative details that could have come up given the rates. When you pay the price, you expect nothing but perfection - but perfection literally happened. Staff, room, the spot in general ; every single details were on point. Staff was helpful, kind - food was tasteful, nice ambiance, lovely place and the room was clean. Rooms are kind of vintage-style, but extremely clean - you gotta love it!

In short, really nothing to complain about. There are so many activities to do around the site as well, I’ll be back there for sure and I strongly encourage you to do so. Thanks!

Our room was so beautiful and the resorted offered so much that I remarked to my husband that we should have stayed more than one night. We will have to go back! One thing I found unique was the cafe and array of treats, including gluten free brownies, available at the front desk at check in.

Was here with my husband for his work trip. Really enjoyed my stay there. Property is beautiful. Rooms are so cute and culinary themed. Sweet treats to try throughout the hotel. Free bike rentals so I was able to explore the area and bike across to the mini plaza. Wish I took advantage of the amenities, cooking class and spa.
