Have been coming to this store for over a decade and will go nowhere else to get running shoes, apparel, and solid advice about all things running. My most recent visits involved getting new shoes, trying them out for a couple of weeks, and returning today to swap them for the same shoe a half size smaller. Nick & Christy were totally helpful, patient, and accommodating, and the transaction was pleasant and hassle-free. I am returning to running after an injury, surgery, and 6 months of PT. My physical therapist asked where I was thinking of buying new shoes, I told him Marathon Sports. He said, "Good choice. They really know their stuff." Already knew that, but was good to hear it from someone in his field. Can't recommend Marathon more highly - everything they do comes from trying to give you the best experience and send you home happy.

We had a great experience! My husband and I came in looking to buy a quality pair of sneakers for each of us. Christy helped us and she was super! She took her time to assess our feet, watch our gate and fit us to the perfect sneaker. We are very grateful and will be back. Thanks again!

Came in and a gentleman greeted us right away , listened to everything I needed in a shoe and absolutely delivered. He kept getting different shoes that would accommodate my needs. He was very informative and suggested certain shoes. This was a great experience and I never find everything I need in a shoe, but I did today. Helps all my disabilities and ways I need to walk. They have a 30 day return policy and they also can order shoes if not in stock.
.. .After using the sneakers and almost face planting many times, I returned them no problem . They gave me too much stride, but will try another pair.

This store in Old Saybrook provides good customer service, especially Gabriel who helped me with my recent sneaker purchase.
It had been awhile since I had my feet measured; thus I appreciated being sized and having my gate checked to ensure finding a useful sneaker that would fit me well. Gabriel was very knowledgeable about the different features and fits of sneaker brands, and also the options for my size and activities. I am very grateful for his assistance and patience as I made my decisions.

Changed my review from a one star review to a five star review after getting a call back from Matt, the manager of the store, who was extremely helpful and polite. My initial review was negative as one of the two pairs of shoes we purchased had a failure two months into light usage - and one of the staff members blamed my girlfriend for how she walks and wouldn’t help us, even after we were told by another staff member on the phone to to come in and that they’d help us out. We called back the next day to speak to Matt the manager, and he apologized for how everything went down, and asked us to come back in for an exchange if we felt comfortable doing so. He was really polite and down to earth about it. I was really angry yesterday, and left a bad review after being sent home with nothing - but I’m changing my opinion after dealing with Matt and I will be coming back in for my next purchase. I’m just gonna make sure I deal with either Matt or Nick every time!

What a great store. Super friendly and helpful staff. Great selection of shoes, clothing and accessories. Easy to find on main St. In Old Saybrook. You wont be disappointed.

Don't think I'll ever go to another shoe store again. Nick P. at Soundrunners was the best. After 2 years of dealing with New Balance and others, Nick set my daughter up with the perfect running shoe....no more pain. I highly recommend this shoe store for anyone who wears sneakers. The price was reasonable, especially with the top-notch experienced service you receive.

This is exactly the kind of experience I was hoping for! I was greeted as soon as I walked and asked my name! There were other customers, but they got me started, on the computer, measuring my feet right away. They called me I told them exactly what I wanted and my concerns. They selected 3 shoes, I loved two pairs! They encouraged me to try them with my orthotics and without!!! Totally looking forward to wearing BOTH pairs of sneakers I purchased!!! Thank you!

The best shopping experience i have had in a very long time. Chris asked all the right questions. He listened to my answers. He offered me several choices of sneakers, all of which were excellent. He went the extra mile, as they say, to make sure I bought the perfect sneaker for my needs.

Stopped in this morning to look at new shoes for upcoming temp job where I'll be walking on concrete for 10+ hours a day and needed new inserts and shoes. Bob introduced himself and measured my foot in a machine, soon after bringing out multiple pairs for me to try.

After about an hour, trying 4-5 pairs and 3 inserts, I finally selected some Hoka's with a matching insert. Bob was incredibly thorough and patient despite my indecisiveness. Would highly recommend.

I am new to running for fun and I couldn't have had a better experience buying my shoes. I have never had a pair of shoes that fit so well and were so comfortable throughout my workouts as these. This was my first time being fit for shoes and the staff was very helpful. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

The kind of individual customer service everyone craves, but rarely finds. Chris and Dean are terrific - I can't say enough good things about them! I love my new Hokas too!

No need to go anywhere else for running gear. They are simply the best. Five visits, all with a purchase and 100% satisfied. They truly listen and care.

If you're a runner in SE CT, you know what's up. Great service and decent selection. Support local businesses and if you have a marathon bib you want to display, that may be an option. Ask for Matt, mate.
