This restaurant has authentic Mexican food. 99% of the patrons are Hispanic. Spanish is spoken as the preferred language but the waitresses are very nice and delivered our meals without a mistake. The menu has great photos. The food was hot and delicious. The burrito and enchiladas were large, tasty and delivered promptly. I am going back for sure.

You have to actually like goat meat to eat it, but this food is delicious!! So tender, flavorful, and no goat smell that sometimes can happen. 100% recommend!!

It was my first time eating here I ordered a quesadilla which was good. A lot of people go there so keep in mind that may have to wait for at least 30 min. I plan on going again but for now I'll give them 4 stars.

Me and my family of six came into this restaurant. We loved it! We got our food 5-10 minutes within ordering! Our waitress was super attentive of our needs! Tacos were GREAT! Specifically the Beef Head and Carnitas tacos. Quesadillas were good as well! The menudo wasn’t our favorite, yet it was still good! Overall Great place to eat! I highly recommend!

Love coming here with my mom. Every time we are in salt lake city it's a must.

Some of the best Mexican food Ive had. The food was super fresh. I had a carnitas burrito & it was the best Ive had.

Well this is the best food from Salt Lake City im from ohio And I google it and it turns out that when people come they are very friendly but the food has an identical flavor to Mexico the identical seasoning the handmade tortillas the birria yummy … fabulosa

Been coming here for a long time and have always had a good experience.

I had a co worker who is from Mexico suggest this place to me. The man at the register spoke English and Spanish so ordering was a breeze. For how busy this place was on Sunday, my 3 tacos came out in 10 minutes. The tortillas were also handmade and tasted amazing. The lengua was so tender and melted in my mouth. The sauces we’re fantastic and spicy. I will definitely come back and try more options when I’m in salt lake! Thank you!!

I ordered a taco and the small birra soup that had no meat in it. It was suppose to be $3.99 I was charged the $11.99. Didn't realize it till after when my fiance told me. Food was excellent. I dont speak Spanish so it was difficult to order or ask questions but we were able to get a refund after explaining. They were attentive even if they didn't understand everything we said.

This place could not possibly be more authentic. The food. The staff. The atmosphere. The smells. All 100% above any expectation I could have set. I had the lengue smothered burrito and was blown away. There's good lengue and bad lengue, and this was the gold standard. I will be driving an hour out of my way to come back as soon as possible.

Brush up on your Spanish so you don't look as dumb as I did. We were the only table of Caucasians and looked a bit silly when we couldn't speak more than a word or two of Spanish.

The waitress handled it well and all our food came out perfect.

So, I wrote a fairly negative review about 6 years ago. And, my brother has been nagging me to come back and try this place again because of his love for their buche.
Today I came back and I'm glad I did. I still don't love buche, but that's just a personal thing. I am okay with organ meats, but not in large portions. And these guys serve LARGE portions.
I tried the goat taco today and it was fantastic! (Of course it was, that's why the place is named after a goat! duh!)
The other cool thing about El Cabrito is that it's so authentic. It literally feels like you've been transported to Mexico. The food is so good and fresh. The salsas are flavorful and spicy. It probably helps if you can speak a little Spanish, but I don't think it'd be totally necessary.
Definitely worth checking out imo.

I don't consider myself to be squeamish about things. I usually love lengua, cabesa, buche etc. This place had a weird "not fresh" flavor to things. The barbacoa taco was okay, but just kind of boring. The meats were very under seasoned. The salsas were okay, pretty hot. I don't understand what everyone else is raving about in regard to the tortillas. I found them to be very underwhelming. My server was wonderful though. Very friendly and helpful. I don't see myself rushing back here. Taco's Daniel is right around the corner and much more my style.

MY GOD! The food is UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING! I seriously wish I can order everything in one plate and finish. The tortillas are handmade, the meat is so delicious and the customer service is spot on, they are so friendly and patient towards everyone! I am in LOVE with this restaurant!
