Whistle Stop Bistro and Catering

We are from Joplin, MO, and came to visit family and take time off for my wife's birthday. The family had to work but recommended Whistle Stop. We drove over for breakfast and are so glad we did. One of their customer's was on his way out & I asked how he liked the Café. He said he was 90 years old and came here every morning. He had many good things to say about the restaurant food, service, and cleanliness. His recommendation was right on target. The restaurant was super clean from front to back. The waitress was so kind and attentive to our needs. She brought the pancakes out on a special plate for my wife's birthday and even sang to her. The food was made from scratch and over-the-top delicious. The owner came out and visited with us before we left. We are not in the area very often, but we will return to this hidden gem when we can.

Very tasty. The daily "blue plate" type special is a good value-- entrée, two sides, and cornbread or Texas toast for under 10 bucks. Staff is super friendly and the location is homey and very clean.

Stumbled upon another find Jim this one in Arkansas. The home cooked food was so good I had some roast beef green beans potatoes carrots corn bread. But the peanut butter pie was amazing. Just a great little joint. Great prices too.

I am not sure how we even ended up here, it's a little off the beaten path - but I am glad we did. I love to eat at locally owned places, and this is why. We showed up about 10 minutes before they were to close, and were the only customers. They greeted us cheerfully, not disappointed that we were causing them to stay late. They have homemade lunch specials and desserts as well as grill food.. the restaurant was clean and bright.. We had a pleasant conversation with the owner/cook . The whole experience was enjoyable and not overpriced. When I go through Jonesboro again, I plan to stop there. I'll be earlier next time.

Best breakfast in town by a long shot. The breakfast pork chops and the biscuits n gravy are the bomb. Nothing that you order here for breakfast or lunch will disappoint you.

Lisa was extraordinary to work with. Her & her team fed the Northeast Arkansas Board of Realtors & hit it out of the park. Their chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, & rolls were perfect!

Where do I start? I had passed this place several times and never stopped. Then one of my managers rewarded us with fried bologna sandwiches from here and that was history! I absolutely love their fried bologna, egg and cheese sandwich on buttery Texas toast! And the staff is so nice, warm and friendly. The inside is just as cute and warm as their personalities! I can't say enough about this place so just go see for yourself. You won't be disappointed I promise. A hidden gem that is worth the little drive. Keep up the good work and please never take the bologna sandwiches off the menu lol!!!

This is THE BEST FOOD I have tasted. We had breakfast the first time and it was perfect. Today i had grilled catfish with potato salad, baked beans and hush puppies. Everything was great and we highly recommend it.

Breakfast is great my friend orders extra porkchops on his breakfast porkchop plate.and he is a very picky eater.

This has to be the best "Hole in the Wall" in Jonesboro! Lisa runs a WONDERFUL establishment here and the food is great. Friendly service and the weekly specials will have you coming back every time. Be sure to try the salmon patty on Thursdays for lunch!

Great home cooked food and burgers and fries with awesome desert for a good price. If your going to spend 8 or 9 dollars for a fast food meal you'd be crazy when you get home cooked food mfor the same price or less. They have daily specials but recommend the chicken fried chicken on tuesday!!

The best home cooking in Jonesboro. Daily specials were all good ... For the several weeks I was in town. Beware the crowds...If the parking lot is full service will be slower but the food is always good.

Great place to eat! The food is delicious! The employees are friendly and efficient. We eat here twice a week every week. It's immaculate and inexpensive.

Amazing quality and simple home style food....portions are great but not overkill plate lunches killing it ......sweets are mouth watering my faves are pecan pie and banana pudding....the menu the philly be slaying it son...prok chops are a great dish too and lip snacking sweet tea

Great tasting and affordable breakfast. We haven't been for the plate lunch yet. We talked about making this a once a week breakfast spot for our family.

Love this place! They are so nice and food is awesome! If you want homemade biscuits and gravy for breakfast, this is the place to go!

Pork chop tastes just like mum used to make. Highly recommend. Plus you get to watch a train go by!
