One of Portland’s many hidden gems and a Belmont staple. Love this independent book shop. Quirky and a little cluttered just like I like it. You never know what you’re gonna find and Joe has a free book bin right outside the door where some of my favorite collage materials have come from. They just expanded next door so now there is even more to look at, go check it out! You won’t be sorry you did.

This bookstore is small and creaky, but lots of books to look at! I think the prices are very fair. I love the balance of used and new books. The vibe is just cozy and inviting.

I love Belmont Books. Everything about this place makes me happy. You should support them. Even if it's just a few bucks for a book every week or so. The staff is great, the selection is excellent, the customer service is warm and comfortable. This is the kind of place where readers can just come and chill. It's a readers playground. Can't recommend it enough.

this bookstore only has two rooms and i LOVE THAT. you don’t feel overwhelmed — you can literally look at all the options. it’s obviously a very carefully curated selection. most are used, with some new sprinkled in there. i managed a bookstore for 3 years, so i know most everything there is to know about bookstores — this place is a special gem. come and support them so they can stay open!!

Located right next to a tiny food cart pod, this is a prime location for used books. Grab a new book then head over to grab a cup of coffee or a bite to eat.
Every nook and cranny is filled! There are books organized on shelves but also piled up infront of shelves for easy browsing. The best thing about buying books here is the price. The people who work here are very knowledgeable about books and the products they have. If you're looking for a certain book, there's a chance they have it!

Great, very Portland neighborhood book shop. Excellent array of serious art and cultural history texts. Superb poetry section.Always lots of sale books at awesome low prices. Make sure to wander about! Sidewalk sale bins offer amazing finds in all genres at admirably low prices. Go, Buy, Read!

Belmont books is a delight. Amazing selection and categorization. such a fun place to hang out and participate in or overhear some interesting progressive discussions.

This is my favorite bookstore in Portland, by far. I haven't even gone to Powells since I found this joint. It's incredibly well curated, a person could make their reading list just from the front window displays, and the staff are exactly who you'd want to find working at bookstores - smart, interesting, kind people. If there is something specific you want that they don't have, ask about ordering it - they've been happy to order special requests for me and it has saved me from helping to send Jeff Bezos to space. They recently expanded and I swear this bookstore is just getting better.

Belmont Books is one of my favorite books stores in Portland. Super friendly owner and staff, well stocked books, and very good prices! You can also order new books through them! I could spend a long time browsing all the shelves. They often have an outside book sale for even better deals. Highly recommend checking out this little shop if you're in the area.

One of my favorite bookstores in Portland. Incredibly knowledgeable staff, and one of the most well-selected non-fiction sections I have ever seen in a brick and mortar bookstore. Definitely check it out--you won't regret it!

This cozy nook is stuffed with treasures. I could easily lose hours perusing. If you follow on Instagram, they post rare, fun editions of things you’re not likely to see in other shops.

What an awesome store! Super fair prices on both used and new books and an awesome collection of human curated books and zines, including many local presses and authors. Don’t miss it! Really helpful and friendly owner/staff.

I love little eclectic bookstores filled with rare treasures. Belmont Bookstore is exactly that. It isfilled floor to ceiling with an excellent collection of books on a wide variety of topics. Emphasis is on smart and unusual. I walked out with the cookbook from the Rector Hotel and a study on ritual regulation of agriculture in the New Guinea highlands.

The gentlemen at the front was super helpful and knowledgeable, even suggesting areas to visit based on the books I bought. Its a smaller store but with some amazing varieties, will be returning soon.
