I am a frequent visitor at Shelby Farms Park. It is one of my favorite places to go. The atmosphere is calm, peaceful, and harmonious. The restroom and playground are always clean and pleasant smelling. It is dog-friendly. The picnic areIs always cleaned and well organized. The aesthetic beauty of Shelby Farms Park is wonderful. I highly recommend this place to go and relax and enjoy yourself alone and/or with family and friends. You won't be disappointed.

Great place to ride bikes, scooters, roller blades with your friends or family or by yourself. There is little shade by the lake but the walking trail along the lake is one of our favorite attractions at the park.

It's a very nice clean park. I love the trail. I like how they offer a separate bike trail and walk trail during most of the trail. The lake view makes the walk not seem long!! Love it.

Shelby Farms is absolutely beautiful in the spring. There are so many flowers, butterflies, and bees along the main trail. Sometimes you see wild deer.

A premier Urban Park in the heart of Memphis. Beautiful lakes, peaceful walking past and plenty of fun outdoors activities. This gem should never be taken for granted.

Memphis is very fortunate to have such a large and well maintained park as this. Great variety of walks, lots of parking, excellent and clean facilities plus a gift shop and coffee shop.

Attended a wedding here and Shelby Farms. Was an incredible venue with a spectacular sunset.

During the morning before the wedding the grooms party went for a long run around the Shelby grounds.

So much going on for people of all ages.

Last summer we canoed with our canoe at Hyde Lake. Saturday, September 2, we rented 2 single person kayaks. We had a blast The crew at the boat house were helpful in getting our lifejackets and launching us. The lake is beautiful and very clean. In fact the entire park is very clean. Our only issue was that there isn't clear signage for the boathouse.

We went to Shelby Farms for the Starry Nights Christmas Lighting. It was very organized with the flow of cars through the entire tour. The was a station where you could stop to get hit chocolate. Oaying in advance was no different than paying upon arrival. The was a lot of time and effort in displaying all the lights for tourist viewing pleasure. It showcased many of Memphis attractions in lighting form. There were so many things that made you go ahhh. Would definitely recommend viewing this when there for the winter season.

Beautiful park for kayaking on the lake, mountain biking trails, kayaking the wolf river, jogging. There is a restaurant, kayak rental and more. We saw osprey last week and there are always deer at sunset. They have bison as well. It's a cool spot.

Great place. Wonderful, spacious playground area. Peaceful atmosphere with lots to do. There are horse stables with horses you can pay to ride, zip lines on the weekend, a sprayground, an event center, trails to jog, bike etc. on, rentable kayaks, and buffalo. We saw a huge family of deer one day when we left at around dusk. It’s a great place to get away from the crowds. The sprayground is a little pricy for its size but on Tuesdays kids can go for free for an hour.

I love the improvements Shelby Farms has made! It looks great. The grounds have been really well maintained, and the fact we can host huge events like what is pictured, the park architects have done an amazing job.

I also love the spots around the grounds where you can do different activities like the zip line and paddle boards, fishing and the beautiful nature views.

It is also really important to keep the buffalo in the city. The area they are now is great, I just hope they grow the area.

Beautiful, clean park. Clean, modern restrooms. Plenty of parking / ease of access. I was here for kayaks and cocktails and had a ton of fun first of all with the hour or so of kayaking tour and then with the food, drinks, and activities.

Well we had a blast. Paddle boat. Saw two deer. Two crane. Going back to play Disk golf. One squirrel. Seven turtles. Missed the opportunity to see any buffalo, but was told that was seen. It hot so they have vending machines and great customer service and very clean. Open spots for lovely couple spot photos over the Chickasaw Trail over the rivers lake and pond
Will have fun if like wilderness and family activities. Thank y'all.

No matter your activity level shelby farms is the place to visit. Lots of areas to just sit and take in nature. Numerous walking, running, and biking trails. Even electric bikes to rent if you choose. Water activities as well. Coffee house, gift shop and Coastal Fish Company located in the park. You won't be disappointed at Shelby Farms.

Hard to put all that Shelby Farms Park offers in a single review, but I can say that it's one of my favorite places in Memphis. Amazing place to walk the dogs on leash or off leash in the HUGE dog park. Starry Nights during the holidays is a lot of fun but very busy! They have a great restaurant on the property called Coastal, and tons of great events. Plus it's great to walk by and see the buffalo - I mean, where else can you do that for free? Highly recommend - Memphis is blessed to have such a place!

The best park I've ever been to, though I haven't been to many large parks like this. Hyde Lake is a wonderful spot to watch the sunrise/sunset. Kayaks, canoes, ziplines, rental bikes, special events, rental pavilions, seafood restaurant, souvenir shop, restrooms, grills, Tour de Wolf mountain bike path, children's play area, large sand box, swinging benches, walkable trails, dedicated no-leash dog park, Buffalo, horseback riding—lots of things to do here! There's a dedicated separate biking path around Hyde Lake, just watch out for oblivious walkers who don't know what the bike images all over the path mean.

The big negative? Being located in Memphis means you will encounter some ghetto people, complete with cringe-worthy inappropriate outfits, gang clothing, loud rap music from portable speakers, and the occasional uncontrolled Pitbull. The staff does an excellent job cleaning up all their trash that they carelessly litter about.

Despite several large lakes/ponds, there is nowhere to actually swim. They have an overpriced splash pad that you have to reserve by time slot, but no pool. There's also no place to change clothes for the splash pad. It is probably for the best that there is no public pool here, since the ghetto element would show up and swim in their dirty boxers, old gym shorts, and nasty socks. Enforcing appropriate swimwear would be a nightmare for staff, since the go-to response would always be to pull the race/racism card.

Whether you want to enjoy the sights, view wildlife, ride horses, kayak, bike, or many other things, you just can't go wrong with Shelby Farms.

A wonderful safe, clean park to visit. Spent about 4 hours there and will def have to go back. The visitor center has the map and info if you are new to going. Also, mostly clean restrooms. The same building has a cute giftshop as well. This building sets atop the land of Hyde Lake. Adjacent to it is Coastal Fish company, which we plan to return and visit. 1st we visited the dog park area, lots of fields and some small ponds/lakes for your dog to cool off in. Huge amount to just be able to run and play, as that area dogs can be off leash. Then we went to the Hyde park area, walked around Hyde Lake, sat on some waterside lounge chairs. They have scooter and bike rentals there (via an app). Also a boat rental, but it appeared close (think everything opens 4/23 on water rentals). Definitely plan to return to do the horseback riding, the miniature golf and ape adventure area, as well as check out some of the wooded trails. This park, if guessing, to experience everything would take a solid weekend, perhaps 2 weekends. Gorgeous views!
