Love this place. The walk down to it is very steep so you need to be fit and wear good shoes. The cave is about 60 degrees which is great during the summer. The people are friendly and nice. They have a friendly cat that doesn't mind petting. You use Bluetooth headphones to play they tour info and walk through yourself. Would highly recommend.

Really great. The owners are trying to keep this cave safe and pristine. Crazy to think it was used as a war fall out shelter until they realized that caves breathe so anything toxic outside would overwhelm inside. And the owner gave us a great lunch recommendation!!

Onyx Cave is the oldest show cave in Arkansas and a great place to visit for those interested in geology or just looking for a fun family activity. The guided tour with headphones is informative and interesting, and visitors can expect to see beautiful formations such as stalactites, stalagmites, columns, and flowstone. The park has a gift shop, fossil/gem find, axe throwing and of course the cave tour! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

I really enjoyed this cave! There is a self-guided audio tour that lasts about 20 minutes (they space groups out every four or five minutes so you aren't crammed together). The audio tour was really well done and interesting, and when it's finished you're free to walk around as long as you'd like.

The cave isn't nearly as big as some of the others I've been to, but having the opportunity to take our time instead of being huddled together in a large group was great.

They also have a large gift shop with lots of items.

Be prepared that the ramps to and from the cave are *steep*!

A must see! The cave was very beautiful and easy enough for adults and children alike. To get to the entrance, you had to walk down alot of stairs that were fairly steep... just so you are aware and prepared for it. The tour is self guided and they give you headsets that explain the history and all the formations of the cave. Also, their gift shop had some great stuff. So make sure to take a look around when you visit.

Self guided tour with audio. Well, lite, does have normal dampness, great audio guided tour. Does have many stairs or inclines. Not for someone with knee or walking difficulty.
Great people, friendly, nice gift shop.
Cave is located on the end of a road.
I would not recommend a 5th wheel into the area. Small campers, maybe.
Worth the 30 min tour. Small cave, but it's interesting that it's privately owned.
Kid friendly, things to do.

I've never been good with confined spaces but this place was beautiful and the audio tour is really neat I would go back again.

Took my kiddo on the tour. She enjoyed it. And had a fun time looking around the shop and playing with the shop cats 😂

This place had an amazing staff. We were fully entertained and welcomed with the conversation. They were extremely informative. Giftshop had a lot of options and great prices. The cave was a lot bigger than I was expecting and more walking, which was great! Lots to see. Alot of variety in sites. The headphone guided tour was actually extremely enjoyable than other tours where it was crowded and 1 tour guide. Highly recommend this cave

Follow the signs and the entrance is on Valhalla drive, the google maps directions aren’t accurate.

We enjoyed the audio guided tour, it’s 20-30 minutes with headphones, and being able to take pictures inside the cave.

Due to the nature of it, not very accessible. Not the best place if you can’t go up and down stairs or ramps well or if you have trouble bending down or walking on uneven surfaces. There’s a very steep ramp and stairway to get down to the entrance and the cave has a lot of uneven, slick walking surfaces.

We loved this place! It was my first time in a cave and it was awesome. They have headphones u put on and gives u a guided tour with lots of interesting historical facts. Then they have a place where u buy a bag with dirt and gems and u can “pan” for treasure. Bags are priced per size we got the ‘MotherLoad’ $35 and split it as advised by a couple that was leaving as we arrived and so glad we did. Totally worth it and when we bought bag we got $4 off admission.

We loved this cave! The walk down was pretty steep, but it was paved and had benches at points to stop and rest if you needed to. I'd suggest bringing a jacket if you get cold easily, it's chilly inside the cave. Great staff and great experience overall!

The gift shop was well kept, and the guide/operator was very friendly and helpful, both in talking about the cave and surrounding attractions. Cave was neat to see and listen to the history via headphones. Highly recommend.

We were looking for something cheap to do and Onyx Cave happened to be the answer for us. And just like the rest of AR to get there you have to take a twisty road through the woods while it is best to be careful since there are some blind curves.

Once we got to Onyx Cave we were promptly met by their gray cat Flo who even chose to check out our car as we were trying to switch out our shoes.

From there you take a steep path ramp down to the office to check in. The staff were really friendly while going over the prices with us since they have cave tour prices as well as prices for a myriad of other activities that can be done without a tour or in combination with the cave such as a smash room, axe throwing and/or gem/fossil sluicing thus adding to the cost of your experience.

We signed up for a tour for myself and a smash room/cave tour for my husband. Once you are ready for the tour you are provided with a set of earphones as it is a self-guided tour that at the most takes 45 minutes unless you like to take your time with us.

The stops are marked out for you to take in while hearing the guide and there are additional buttons to push to highlight additional points like the columns or the replicated still.

The path has two lowish points for tall people while since it is a living cave you will find yourself dripped on while walking and in some cases in water. Otherwise there are no spots to squeeze through or crawl but just some stairs to take.

After leaving we were encouraged to look around the gift shop with Onyx (the other cat) finally waking up to join us. They keep a tank in the back of the shop with some blind cave fish as well as amethyst wings for an photo op.

Afterwards we made our way to the Smash Room where they have you suit up with gloves, a face mask, a jumper and booties before entering in. They leave you in the room with Smash music for your allotted time with a tub of glass and other breakable items while providing you with a chance to use sticks and bats to rage or even just toss it at the wall if your heart should wish.

For those not wanting to participate there is a covered window to give you a glimpse inside. And then afterwards your rager(s) get a chance to sign the wall.

We would most definitely enjoy coming back here again if in the neighborhood.

June 2023 was our 2nd visit. Took grandsons 10 & 7. They loved it. Loved the narration as we walked through. Had to have a tshirt and a rock from the gift shop. Highly recommend- especially on a hot day - nice and cool in the cave.

Absolutely loved it! Would give it 10 stars if we could! We went yesterday and the ladies working did a fantastic job! They literally made the whole experience so awesome and the calmness of the cave was awesome! We also really loved the cats!! Onyx especially took a liking to my boyfriend!! If you are wanted a gorgeous place to visit with kind people, cute pets and the most relaxing environment would suggest going here! Also, if we could name our favorite place on our trip this one tops it all!

If you're visiting Eureka Springs, I highly recommend a trip to the cave. It's incredible inside and a nice place to cool off! The tour is self guided so you can take as much time as you want, which I liked. They have other fun activities too and super friendly employees.

Self guided tour with a pre recorded headset. Cool cave to walk through staff are very friendly. It is quite a trek down and back up the stairs to it so that could be difficult for someone with limited mobility or health issues.

So worth the drive off the beaten path! The kids thought I was crazy taking us out in the middle of the Ozarks down a one lane road at one point, but they loved it! The walk down and up is a bit steep, but still doable for most. You do need to check in with them during the winter to be sure they are open, there is no way you could get down to the place safely if it was icy. Exploring the cave was an amazing experience. Pricey, but so worth it! Once the tour is over- take your headphones off and enjoy the serene sounds of the cave. This definitely rivals the Grand Canyon if you only have a couple hours to see something unique. Definitely bucket list worthy. The gift shop has lots of cool jewelry and knickknacks made from gemstones. Daughter's favorite are the giant "fairy wings" that are made of amethyst quartz. Very cool adventure!
