VCA 12-Mile Animal Hospital

This is Lola. Lola has been a stray in my neighborhood for over 2 years. She has been impossible to catch. Recently she warmed up to my wife and I and after several days of feeding and watering her, she got close enough for us to pet her and she started to trust us. After several days, we were finally able to get her into a kennel and bring her into the clinic to see if she had a chip. The staff at 12 Mile Hospital were so nice and genuinely cared about the lost kitty. They scanned her and found she had a chip. Lisa at the front desk then stepped into action and made the call to the tracking center. Despite being #12 in line on the phone queue, Lisa stuck with the call and was finally able to find out Lola's name, and found her owner. Lisa was able to make contact with the owner and later that night we had a tearful reunion when Lola was re-united with her owner after being lost for over 2 years!!! Thank you Lisa for helping make this happen. Thank you for staying on hold while you tended to the rest of your duties. Your extra effort is much appreciated!

They are helpful and very friendly and have a lot of knowledge. I Always get my prescription cat food here. They make it very easy and convenient. Price is, well not up to them lol. Easy and quick just a phone call and a text payment later and on our way.

They love animals and it shows! We bring in our furbabies for their shots, bumps, and/or other needs. They will work with you for appointment times and with medication choices. Best vet clinic in the area.

Such an amazing vet hospital. Have taken my pugs there a few times over the last 10 years. Never had an issues. Staff have always been super kind and sympathetic. My 10 yr old blind pug George got attacked by a neighbors extremely aggressive dog. He got 5 puncture holes in his face and head. One on the back of his neck got very infected.
The vet that was working with George had told me what was needed to do and what the chances were of his wound/hole could heal from the inside out with out getting reinfected. I wish I could remember her name. Very professional she was. I wasn't prepared for what I saw they had to do with him. He ended up healing very well. I was given very thorough instructions and supplies to care for him. He ended up healing very very nicely.
Would not hesitate to come in here for trusted vet care.

I had a very positive experience here as a new client, we just adopted a dog and brought her in for her 1st exam and vaccines. They were very good at making sure I knew up front exactly what I'd be paying, providing an itemized estimate. The vet did a great job at explaining options for flea and heartworm preventatives, and talking about having our dog's teeth cleaned in the future. The staff were all polite and professional. Plus, I love that they are open later hours a few days a week--it makes it much easier for working "pet parents" to schedule appointments. Would recommend!

I have always had positive experiences at VCA’s in Portland. So we decided to make this our primary care for our three herding dogs. The vet and tech were awesome. Very kind appreciated our active dogs and gave good care. It was nice to see a vet who seemed to love her job.

I took my new puppy in and they were so caring and loving with my little guy. They fed him treats as they examined him and treated him with his first vaccines. I have never been to a veterinarian in the past that showed this much care and patience with the pets. I'm satisfied with them and know my little guy will get the best of care here.

Very friendly and patient staff. Explained cost every step of the way. Online appointments or call in. Very clean, lots of parking.
We were new customers and ended up having to euthanized our 14 year old cat. The Vet provided all options before even mentioning euthanizing.
I was allowed to stay with our cat while he was put down. Other places I called said it was an extra cost to do that, up to $75.
A few days later we received a hand written sympathy card from the Vet and staff which we thought was very kind.
12 Mile will be our new provider when we get an other cat.

I just wanted to say thank you to the people who work at this location. Today I brought in some stray kittens that were found. I had no appointment. I just took them in because they were closest and one of the kittens was in desperate need of help. Without hesitation they immediately took such fast action and care trying to help the poor little kitty. I am so grateful that there are people who truly care about the animals here.

The staff is so kind and professional. They offer pretty reasonable prices with a Dr. Doolittle with a heart of gold. Even his vet techs speak excellent dog and cat 😻 my favorite Vet in Portland by far! He helped my friend in an emergency situation with her dog who swallowed a kong...made it affordable for them when no where else would! To get my dog fixed and dental combo will cost a little more than some places but I KNOW it won't be botched. He's got around 30 years experience? And offers home visits and some exotic breeds 🙌💙

Does anyone else find that most veterinary clinics in Portland are going to pot?
VCA is a diamond in the rough. A fraction of the price of most clinics in Portland with better service.
People here seem to actually enjoy their job and care about your pets wellbeing.
The one and only downside is that they are always busy (I assume because everyone is transferring to this vet lately.) You have to chedule well in advance for regular appointments and there's only a slim chance they'll have space for an emergency visit.

They are very professional and it is obvious that each and every staff member there loves animals and loves their job. They send out text reminders for appointments in addition to emails. They call and text multiple times after appointments and procedures to make sure my fur babies are doing okay. The facility is neat and clean. I trust VCA 12-mile to care for my babies.

The vet Flannery is super nice and helpful. She even called to check on my dog the next day to make sure he was doing well. I highly recommend them to everyone that loves their fur baby.

After being dissatisfied with our last veterinarian we checked this place out. Two new puppies have become members of our family and the family at VCA as well, we were very impressed with the attitude and overall demeanor of the staff. Looking forward to having the best care provided by the team at VCA!

We have been taking our animals here for 30 + years. I came here as a little boy with my parents any time there was something wrong with one of our animals. I'm 45 now, and VCA 12 Mile continues to be my vet of choice.

The staff is always friendly, and extremely courteous. Whether we're just picking up flea/heartworm meds, or just in for an annual exam. We're always greeted and treated very well.

I will continue to bring my animals here. Sure I may pay a little bit more than I would if I went to one of those vets in a pet supply store. That's okay my animals are worth it, and I get peace of mind. Thanks for always taking great care of my pups!

We moved into the area about 20 years ago 12 mile was the first place we started taking our pets. And since then our parents have changed over the years and we have tried other veterinarians in the Gresham Sandy,Troutdale, area and always seem to come back to 12 mile. All the doctors are very well trained and have always treated us very well almost like family. I would recommend them to anybody and save them a lot of time and money looking around at other veterinarians in the area.

Wonderful care! Great scheduling options, friendly and easy check in & check out process The Dr called and went over all care options and their costs. They've been my go to for pet care for 20 years now.

I had to euthanize my dog and they were VERY kind, professional and considerate. They made the experience as east as possible and were very informative and up front. They are also doing a great job with all the PPE requirements. Thank you very much for your compassion and assistance through a sad experience.

We've been taking our pets to 12-Mile Animal Hospital for years and have always received excellent care. "Uncle Don," as we like to call Dr. Don Canard, helped prolong our cat's life with diet and surgery. Our cat lived a good long life, and when he passed away last year at a ripe old age, the staff showed such compassion. Uncle Don sent us a very sweet card of condolence. I would highly recommend this vet clinic.

This facility and it's staff are great. They care about your needs for your pets and the price you are capable of paying. My pets love it there, a little skidiss at first but calm down later. I would recommend this facility to others.
