Liberty Theatre Cafe

It was crowded when I came in, and I took my order at the register. The staff had a good attitude, and were kind to the customers. The 🥪 on sourdough was satisfactory, and I recommend the Java Brownie for anyone who wants to try it.

If you're not a fan of Starbucks and are seeking a local spot with excellent coffee and a pleasant atmosphere, I'd recommend this charming little cafe. I'm not from the area and relied on an online search for breakfast and coffee spots open on Sunday morning, and this place was one of the options. I thoroughly enjoyed their freshly baked bread and the honey they had for sale. The customer service was impressive, and the establishment was clean. I was a bit surprised that most of the employees were wearing masks, which wasn't to my liking, but that's a matter of personal preference. Nevertheless, I wholeheartedly recommend this place.

On a road trip and was not expecting to find a gem like this. The kale salad was delicious and perfect. The sandwiches were also fantastic and on their own bread. All served on cute vintage plates. No plastic in site and they compost their waste. Would give them 10 stars if I could. Thank you for a delicious visit!

I purchased a carrot cake, salted chocolate chip cookie and a cinnamon roll. The cookie was soft and moist and savory. The carrot cake was spongy and moist, with notes of fresh ginger ( it was great). The cinnamon roll was fluffy, sticky and delicious. I highly recommend.

Have been to Liberty Theater Cafe several times and we are never disappointed. Amazing food (I'm drooling just thinking about their breakfast sandwiches) and friendly service.
Today I had lunch which consisted of the Sandwich on Sourdough and a mocha, delicious as always!

Such a thrill to find delicious coffee and great food on the road. My latte was strong and perfect and the spiced ginger cake was off the charts!

Go eat here! Amazing local artisanal bakery and cafe. Local ingredients and exquisite baked goods. Simple space, feels open and inviting. Get their mochi muffin and enjoy some coffee from baristas that know how to pull shots. Had the grilled turkey sandwich on house-made sourdough. 🙌

The Betty is maybe the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. Delightful people as well and carefully prepared espresso.

One of the best coffee shops I have ever been to in my lifetime. They just nail it every time with their coffee, pastries, ambiance, service. Set in such a beautiful town in Oregon you cannot go wrong.

My mom and I walked in at about noon, super friendly service, and we ordered breakfast, coffee, and tea, and EVERYTHING we tried was our new favorite in the valley! Rocket breakfast sandwich: new favorite sandwich. Blackberry and Fig Tea: new favorite + they gave us an extra tea cup and more hot water when I found out I loved it as well. Rhubarb Pistachio Cake: new favorite. It’s first come first serve though! They run out of baked goods fast!

Kneads Bakery is the best place in town for daily fresh baked goods. Their bread and pastries are on-par with any bakery in the region. Owner-operated! Established in 1995, one of my favorite parts of La Grande!

Y'all this place was fantastic. Seriously good coffee and pastries, cute inside, and inviting outdoor tables.

Love this place! Great vibe! Staff all friendly, low amount of unnecessary plastic use (saw some to-go plastic). Would love to see a few more veg options though.

The Liberty Theater Cafe is one of my favorite places in town. They have great sandwiches and pastries. Their food is currently to go but they do have outdoor seating available. The staff is all very nice. They also have lots of coffee and tea options for drinking! My favorite item is The Betty breakfast sandwich!
I also love that the shop supports local farmers and artists! There is a small fridge where you can purchase local produce in the cafe!

Was passing through town and looking for a decent coffee spot with a bite to eat. This place far surpasses decent. Excellent coffee pours out of the well tuned espresso machine, + a variety of house made pastries and a lunch items. The "Betty" breakfast sandwich melted in my mouth. Pastries were all perfect. Attention to detail shines here.

Best coffee in town! Amazing people running a beautiful new coffee shop. Has outdoor seating and a couple cool church pews on the inside. Fresh baked bread, pastries, and a breakfast menu. Will be coming back regularly!

UPDATE: have been coming in regularly for a solid year and this is hands down my favorite place to eat in town. Staff are incredibly warm and welcoming and the rotating food menu is always full of great flavors at a very affordable price. Worth stopping in if you’re passing through town!!
