I used to collect comics but stopped years ago. Slowly getting back into it, this place has a ton of back issues and all the new comics including all the variant covers. Owner was nice and knowledgeable recommended several other books based on the books I bought. Would give the place 10 stars if I could!

"The sole oasis for an almost extinct medium in our corner of NWA." "A five -star, reputable and venerated source for the "Mint" collector of comic and collectable medium."

Having reached the age of forty, I decided to take a "Marie Kondo" approach to a small stack of comics I had painstakingly maintained in mostly "very good" and "near-mint" condition since I was about ten years old. I knew these like the back of my hand. The price, the condition, and had kept them well maintained in a wooden trundle at the perfect temperature. These weren't worth much but to me were treasure.

After a disappointing search across the internet for a local place that might know a way to get them in the right hands, I had ONLY one option. Rock Bottom in Fayetteville.

A forty minute drive from Bentonville, I was really going out of my way about this. I didn't really need the money, I didn't really WANT to let my collection go per-se, but it was time to allow another generation to marvel at the art styles and storylines that had fascinated me in the late 80's to mid-90's.

Upon entering the facility, I was greeted by a jovial older gentleman, freshly washed hair, well-kept and clearly adhering to the federal and state recommended guidelines of the current COVID environment of 2020.

The shop was very small, but simply stacked wall-to-wall with treasure abound. From the very latest ink and the freshest new artists in the industry to niche, vintage Japanese Godzilla memorabilia. This place had it all.

Something compelled me to just spill the truth. "These aren't worth much, but to me they're treasure. I don't want to throw them away, but I would rather they get into the hands of the right person.

The man clearly held himself well and with surgical precision, warmly let me know he would be "glad to take a look at them". Best thing I could've heard.

As he reviewed the small stack I began to browse his wares, all of which were perfectly maintained in plastic, protective covering making sure my purchase was of the highest possible quality.

As we conversed, it became apparent I was speaking to someone who had, by all practical accounts earned a PhD in his trade. He knew what was hot, he knew what was current. I asked him to make sure I wasn't committing any atrocities in letting a particular issue go.

As if he had had this conversation a 1000 times before, he warmly reminded me he knew precisely what he was looking at, would formally review them by condition and look-up, then would ensure it would get into the hands of the right collector who knew what they were looking for. That's what I needed to hear. What I came for. And he treated me kindly, knowing I was letting go of a small bit of my childhood and would protect it with professional care. As any good doctor would of course.

He checked me out with extreme care in COVID procedures, and ensured my purchase was well packaged and properly placed in my to-go bag.

For the negative reviews I've read about this little oasis, please remember that little 10 year old back in the late 80's who took such good care of his treasure, so that a new generation could have it in mint condition too. Kids are obviously welcome, and NEED to know where to go for these types of things, but you simply must see it for what it is, a safe haven for the collector and his items.

If you are looking for the bewilderment of early childhood, there's Toys R Us. But if you are looking for an educated and professional recommendation on the PERFECT item or new reading material, you have no other option. Thank goodness the experience was indeed five star. As a busy parent, I fully understand what its like to have that 3 year old with grubby little hands while trying to shop for fine china, but please keep them at a safe distance when I need to have my little "ten year old treasure" surgically removed from my person by a qualified, local doctor.

Love this place. My kid and I go once every couple of weeks to pick up our Spawn Comics. The gentleman working behind the counter (owner I presume) is a great guy. Always checks the items availability when I call. HUGE selection of new and pre-owned comics as well. Customer for life.

I went in there yesterday for just my second time. The staff upon learning it was my birthday helped me find the perfect gift for myself. They were helpful and genuinely excited like I would be if I worked there. Those two who were working yesterday made me feel more special in a store than I have in stores with staff with years more experience selling.

I've been getting my comics here for 15 years, since I was 13 years old. GREAT stock and supply of comics, statues, and trades. The staff and owner are extremely knowledgeable on all the products and the culture. I have NEVER had a problem with customer service here. The owner will pre-order whatever you need and is just all around helpful! Some people don't understand that this place is for collectors, so the stuff can't be handled roughly. And the prices are more than fair. They go by the diamond book prices that most stores go by and all merchandise is kept in prestine condition. A WONDERFUL place to go if you love comics!!! Wish I could give it more than 5 stars!!

We've always loved this place, and now even more so. The owner has taken precautionary measures to ensure the safety of his patrons during this pandemic. He provides antibacterial hand wipes as you enter so that when you inevitably pick up comic to look at the cover you have a lower risk of spreading the virus if you have it. He really cares for his customers and it shows.

I went here for the Rickmobile when it was in town and they were amazing hosts. They had a great selection of comics and interesting products at reasonable prices, as well as wonderfully polite and helpful staff.

If you're looking for some comics or anything geeky, I *highly* recommend you stop by!

People who aren't comic books nerds won't understand the love the store employees or the employer has. Though this store is small and cramped, which can't be avoided, it is still a great place for nerds to go for their favorite comic. It's also locally owned. Way better than a big corporation that jacks up prices just to get good money for a used product.
