It's a great, low-key park with some great hiking trails for casual or experienced hikers, bathrooms, and picnic tables. Parking is free, and it's dog friendly.

An extremely nice and relaxing park, great for kids and bird watching. Paved trail along with access to the water with a boat ramp. There's public restrooms inside of the park, along with grills and picnic tables throughout. Everything was very clean and the park was very walkable. It has a hilly hiking trail that is in the side of the cliff, not too difficult.

I love coming down to Lewis and Clark in the summer or I float Dabney to Lewis and Clark. Nice place to cool off and relax. Can get busy on hot days. Lewis and Clark is my #1 spot if I'm just going to hang out at the river.

So much fun taking the doggo there. Seen a few ladies with garbage cans picking up trash. Seems the further down you go is where the homeless hang out. Otherwise the area is beautiful

It's a beautiful spot! My friends and I call the Sandy River area poor mans beach because it's 100% free ( including parking)... And it's under the railway. It gets really crowded on the weekends so get there before 11am or be prepared to park far far away. ( Sundays are the busiest) It's great for lounging on the river bank and floating. Just make sure you know where to get out if you go for a long float. This feeds right into the Columbia River ( which may be dangerous). It's one of my favorite day trips and its only 40 minutes from Portland... So please don't go 😂 lol

On our trip we took Old Highway 30 threw Oregon and there is this state park where you can enjoy the sun at the river, it is clean and not a bunch of rif raff. Very enjoyable time.

Lots of open space to lay, run, play, walk! Be up and close to the river, walk through the river, swim, float, paddle, splash, watch the train go by, feel the train rumble the sand! Love this place! My kids love every moment of it too! Very close to Troutdale!

I love this place. The rock behind the river is amazing for professional and amateur rock climbers. Just pick a side. And on the top when you get there the views will be on your west side. So does the sun set. But if you go towards East, you will have to go through some branches and woods, might even get some scratches. But at the end of it, it’s all going to be worth it. Also if you start encountering only black berry vines, you need to find an alternative path. However if during the season you find yourself up there, the blackberrys on those vines are sometime like a big strawberry size, super sweet and juicy. They have actually saved me once from collapsing as I ran out of water and food and didn’t have energy to go down like that.

Remember you will need a very very basic rock climbing skill and stamina on one side of the rock. The other side is for professionals. Sometime those pros are too cocky and with just the look in there eyes you will know you are on the wrong side of the rock! Happy climbing!

I hiked up to the cliff summit. It was an awesome time. Definitely not easy. There is some rock climbing to get up to the top. A little dangerous. There was poison oak everywhere. My cousin walked through a patch of it. I warned her. Woman never listen to men. So I'm sure she'll be hating life tomorrow.

Nice clean park with a few picnic tables, charcoal grills, and walking trails. The "pet exercise" area has a nice open area that was good for throwing the frisbee around. The view at sunset was great.

It's mid May right now and the water is really high still, but it's so nice to just walk on the paths. There's a fair bit of people living under the bridge, and in the woods. I would be careful in those areas. I also saw a pair of people who had a brush guard (the kind you put on your pickup) I'm not sure it was stolen but they didn't take it to a car, they took it into the woods. So I would recommend you do not leave anything valuable in your car.
