Magnolia 525 Tavern

The service was great. Our waitress was very attentive. The food was really good. I especially liked the loaded nachos. And for drinks I tried the pumpkin martini and the brownie batter martini and they were yummy. The atmosphere was very relaxed. They even have throw pillows in the booths. Very comfy. I would definitely eat here again if I ever found myself in the area.

I might just be a simple man with a simple family. But my family and I think this place is a destination restaurant. We've had fish & chips all over - including New York City, Epcot, and Boston. But this unassuming restaurant astounded us with their fish and chips. Our server tells us that they get their fish fresh every morning, so that might have something to do with it. We will be coming back here for sure.

We got married in Gloucester and chose to go to Magnolia 525 for a big combined family dinner a few days before our wedding. When I called, I was put in touch with who I later found out to be the owner. She was simply amazing to work with to set up this big (20 ish people) dinner. They set us up on the patio outside and we had a great dinner. The service was excellent, and the food was great. We had the best time there and can’t thank them enough for their hospitality.

Loved the French onion soup which is new on the menu. Portion size is perfect for the price.

We had a post wedding party at 525 (the day after) as a last good bye to family and friends and it could not have been nicer! The staff was wonderful and the food was fabulous! The scallops wrapped in bacon were the best I've ever had! Perfect friendly atmosphere! I would highly recommend them!

Fantastic service. Great effort by staff to accommodate Covid protocol. Terrific outside evening dining in a warm pleasant location. Seafood was a 10 out of 10

Perfect service, able to continue the conversation and order food without staff lingering or interfering.
At the same time gave good advice on food choices with delicious descriptions at our request.
The atmosphere is high-end including the lighting and decor. They offer some high-top tables and booths with pillows!
It also includes a bar 🍸.
You can dress up and enjoy a glass of wine waiting for apps and casual dress is acceptable too. A must-see place to add to your list.

Always have a delicious meal when dining at 525. Almost like a great neighborhood pub!

It was my first time here. I'm a musician and came to hear a friend's jazz trio and was very pleasantly surprised at how wonderful the Magnolia 525 Tavern was.

Love eating here. The food is always top quality. The service is always great. I had the prime rib - Dang it was good! I highly recommend. Sometimes they are understaffed - but be patient - the servers are pros! Worth the wait.

Great fish and chips - outside seating and indoors too

Delicious meal on Saturday night. Much appreciation to Jackie and the owners. We were greeted warmly and we decided to sit at the bar and enjoyed an outstanding dinner. My husband and I chose one of the specials, Prime Rib, which was cooked perfectly for both of us. Meal came with mashed potatoes, string beans and au jus. My husband also had the special Harvest Salad, which he enjoyed very much. The fried Cauliflower app was tossed in sweet Chile garlic sauce, so yummy. We will be back to this lovely gem restaurant on 12 Lexington Ave. Magnolia Mass.

We sat inside, it was quiet due to required spacing. Our server was attentive. The food was served hot and in a timely manner. I had Fish and Chips, the fish was 2 large fillets of Haddock perfectly cooked. Two of our party had 2 generous portions of Steak Tips which were tender and cooked to their wishes.
I recommend 525 to all, I know we will be back.

Amazing food! This place is way better than your local "let's go here because it's close" restaurant. Being close is just a bonus! Food is fresh, well proportioned, creative, and above all delicious!😋..Average pricing🤑.. Staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the food, or drinks they're serving. Even more important they always seem to be in a good mood. Which says something about the people they work for.😊... As I said, Magnolia 525 is close to my home, However, I'd definitely travel to eat here.

Jackie (bartender) was the only entertainment I needed. She is the Tom Brady of bartenders / restaurant managers...a true pros pro.

The salad was great too, but Jackie made my visit memorable. She knew the names of everyone in there, how they like their drink, etc.

I went here for the first time last night with a party of 10. Our reservation was honored early and we were sat almost immediately. The atmosphere is comfortable and the lighting is cozy. Our waitress was patient and kind. Our food was great. My fish was fresh and prepared well. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The prices are a bit high but I dont mind paying more for quality. The creme brulee was excellent. The only negatives - they were out of non alcoholic beer and the brownie in the sunday was very dry. It was a pleasant experience overall and I will return.

cozy place with romantic lighting. food is great, especially the fish. pizzas are a bit lacking, but i've been raised on strictly local new york and new haven pizzas, so maybe i'm a bit picky. wait staff is very friendly and quick, and the prices are fair. i also had four lemonades and i still want more. delicious. all in all, wonderful experience.

I just enjoyed the best Taco Tuesday experience ever! We ordered the short rib tacos and the fish tacos which were two of the four options available. Such big portions and delicious!
