Gresham Japanese Garden - Tsuru Island

Very small place adjacent to a much larger park. Walking trail for miles which I'd love to do when the weather warms up a bit. Today was too cold. A small path along side the river that goes under the bridge. Very nice area to unwind and just relax. Hope to go when the weather is warmer.

Me and my daughter had fun here eventhough all the trees had no leaves and a woman was fil.ing a music video. It is a fun place to explore.

These gardens are so beautiful. Loved everything about it. And the koi fish were the biggest I have seen and the most beautiful.

These small yet beautiful Japanese garden inside Main City Park in Gresham is beautiful. With a bridge and delicate landscape it’s such a cute place to check out. It’s free and everyone is welcome. Including well behaved dogs as long as they are on a leash.

Pets are allowed. No alcohol 🍸 no smoking. Free to visit. I find Tsuru Island to be a small but beautiful place to visit. It is easy to walk around in and enjoy the Nature around you. I think kids would love it here there is a cool playground within walking 🚶‍♂ distance. Lots of people come here to enjoy this Tiny jewel.

TLDR: Super cute (kawaii) Japanese garden. A free short stroll with a nice covered area for picnicking. Visit in spring for the flowers!

Parking: free private lot. I went on a weekend and though there is limited space, there were open rotating spots as people come and go.

This isn't a really big garden so don't expect to have sore feet at the end of the day. It's just a very well maintained garden/park off to the side of the city. Beautiful and totally zen. I highly recommend visiting during spring blooming season when all flowers are out and at their fullest display.

The garden has nice stone lantern displays and a couple nice photo ops. There's also a mini stream lined with pebbles that I think runs throughout--I visited in February so I think the water was shut off. The garden is also located next to a small creek that you can partially walk along in the park.

Going around dusk might be just a beautiful too--I noticed that most of the main trees had in-ground spot lights pointing towards them.

The park has a small playground, ample grassy areas with picnic tables, and a covered picnicking area. Plenty of recycling bins and trash cans.

Tsuru Island is a peaceful Japanese / Gresham garden. Back in 2015, my husband and I actually helped to build the bridge! I always enjoy spending time here, walking the short path or taking a seat at one of the many benches. It is incredibly beautiful, and easily accessible. And conveniently located in Downtown Gresham!

Beautiful garden - dedicated volunteers come to assist every day to help with upkeep and maintaining the garden. They are building it out and it continues to become more beautiful.

Beautiful little spot to soak in the beautiful garden. Probably best to visit off hours since it is a small park with tight walkways. I visited in early spring so there were many nice blooms out

Lovely site. Nice collection of plants. I wouldn’t say that it’s been there for much more than a decade but it’s well on its way for future growth.

This is a very nice little park to visit when you’re at Gresham Main City Park. The paths are well maintained and there are a variety of plants and trees to enjoy.

My favorite place in Gresham. The scenery changes with every visit, and it is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. You can feel the love that the volunteers put into keeping it up.
