This place ruined taking my dog for a walk anywhere else. It’s the best place ever. And it’s all off leash! So much variety, whether you want to walk wooded trails or open fields, it’s got you covered and more. Lots of river beach access to the Sandy and the Columbia. It’s so much more than just a dog park. I try to go at least 2 or 3 times a week.

Awesome location to take your dog(s). Everyone else thinks so too, so parking may be a challenge. There is an off leash area, and you can get anything from a short stroll to a good trimp in. We took the outer Boundary trail down to Confluence Point, then the Confluence trail back and got a decent 4 mile trimp in. Trails can be very muddy and slippery.

Heads up 1,000 acres dog park pals...

I've interacted with 2 dogs at the park. They didn't have collars or tags. They were intact males. I was there early AM and there weren't any humans behind me or infront of me, which leads me to believe these dogs might belong to people who are living in tents at or around the park.

The dogs were friendly to my dog. They were stand off-ish towards me and didn't approach me. They also were NOT mean or aggressive towards me or my pup.

It was quite fascinating to see these two dogs move, run, and look out for each other. It felt like I observed pack mentality for sure.

My female dog, goes bananas around intact males. I'm posting this just as a heads up.

Happy trails y'all!

Great place for a casual hike, especially if you want to take your dog off leash. It's gorgeous out there.

I love the Sandy River Delta park. It is beautiful and the wildlife that you can see there is pretty amazing. In fact, I caught a little clip of video of a mated pair of eagles up in a tree above the river today.

Having said that, The homeless camps as you go further towards town up along the riverside have gotten completely out of hand and something needs to be done about them. It is awful with a capital A W F U L

It was clean & 2/4 legged friendly. Bicycles are one of my dog's triggers. A fella on a bicycle noticed my dog running toward him and he just stopped. That diffused her energy . I love how dog people just get it. There's no need for excuses or apologies. That right there, made the experience with my dog all the more joyful.

This is the best dog park . It's worth the drive to have such an open space for them to play and run.

This place is great fun for both on leash dogs and off leash dogs (boundary trail only for off leash). It is well taken care of so you don't wonder if you left a trail or not. And there are convenient trash cans for all of your waste in spots. Access to the river is also available. As always stay responsible with your dogs and leave it better than when you got there. Definitely recommend.

Amazing place! When I feel like the city is to much and I need a reset this is the place to go. It's not to far away but it gives the nature experience your soul needs. Also it's a plus that it's dog friendly. Just be aware it's sceeter season and wear your bug spray!

Love this park! Sand gets hot later in the afternoon, so be careful of your pups feet! So relaxing and quiet! ♡♡♡

Love this (mostly) off-leash dog park! There's a lot of space for dogs to run around, great views on sunny days, and always friendly people. The access to the river is very nice as well. Even on busy days you can find some quiet on less trafficked trails, so there's something for everyone.

Love 1000 acres and so do my dogs!
Do watch out fir algae levels as the water can make dogs sick if the levels are high.

Such a peaceful place to walk in. My friend always walks her dog here, and I enjoy it just as much as her dog. The sky is like a piece of cerulean cloth covering this entire world, and the grass is soft as a carpet. I hate cloudy days, but when the clouds cover the sky, and the grass blows in the wind, I see the trail ahead and suddenly, all my worries just fly away.

Love this park on so many levels! Fave place to bring my kiddos and fur babies!

For dog parents…
This is basically every dog’s dream come true! There’s a huge, wide open field for running wild and ample trails to explore, all whilst off leash. Most dog parents are friendly and clean up after their dog. You’ll find trash cans along the trail and free pop bags near each of the trail entrances.

For parents and caretakers of little kids, this place is fabulous for new walkers to get used to “hiking” on flat, safe and obvious trails. If you’re pushing your babes along on a stroller, you’ll be stoked about how much ground you can cover, more so with a jogging/all terrain stroller like a Bob. If your little one is using a balance bike or small kids bike, bring it along bc there is plenty of space for them to ride along!

A few things to note. The big, open field can be a bit gusty on clear days, so bring that extra layer! There are two outhouse style restroom in the parking lot. And just recently, they now require a parking permit.

This is a beautiful park with almost an endless amount of places and trails to go on. Great place to let my big dog get out and get some free roaming exercise with me while I ride my wheel. Most people seem very respectful as we all have our dogs off leash and understand the encounters that can bring sometimes. My biggest concern of having a broken window at my car when I got back did not happen thankfully. $5 a trip but I'll go back once a week for my pup for sure. Big thumbs up from my one good experience there 👍🏼

Beautiful, clean beach. Lots of well- behaved, friendly dogs playing, running, and swimming. Great place to take an easy hike and enjoy beautiful scenery. Theres great views of Mt Hood from the Confluence trail.

We love this park. Not only is it huge but is very well maintained. Tons of different Trails for you to hike or regular walking pads for your dog to play in the grass with lots of access to the river. It's different than other dog parks because those are so small and the dogs are confined and have to play with each other but at this park it's so big that you don't run into another dog for 5 or 10 minutes just in case you have a dog that doesn't really like to play. The park can get very muddy when it rains of course and even though it may seem like the parking lot is large when it's sunny expect to wait a bit or Park on the side of the road. We go every chance we get!

We love this park for our kids and dog. It is an off leash space with tons of room to roam. There's also several river spots for splash, swimming, and water play. Because dogs are off leash, your dog should be able to play well with others and kids should know how to behave around strange dogs. Be prepared to pick up, carry, or stroller small kids. Off road strollers do well here. The trails are pretty flat. Some climbing/scrambling to get to some river spots. River can be deep, strong currents, hidden snags, etc, so be cautious and wear a life vest. Dogs should be strong swimmers. Lots of sun, wind, and warm in the summer. Lots of mud in the winter. Bring a towel & extra water! They do have a pit toilet restroom and several picnic tables if you want to make a day of it.
