Tonight was my first time ever here, and it was absolutely worth the price. The food was phenomenal, portions are truly vast, the hosts/servers are attentive but not overly so, and if you like loud, lively, convivial dine-in experiences, Choza is for you!

Of course, I HIGHLY recommend you get a reservation first as it is always swamped, and lines to wait for a table to open up can be over an hour (we witnessed a few people who had opted to stand and wait for a full hour, in fact.

I will admit that the prices are even a little steeper than expected, yet as usual for a Hispanic eatery, the portion sizes are more than worth their pricing in gold. When I say generous, I sincerely mean it. Be prepared to get a to-go box to take out your unfinished leftovers for a well deserved round two!

The atmosphere is modernist, VERY boisterous, busy and lively, with loud chatter of conversations all around that echo throughout this rather tiny space. If you are not comfortable with or easily overstimulated/overwhelmed by large crowds, lots of people and tons of chatter, this definitely is not going to be a pleasant or comfortable experience for you. For how much that is, and for the modernist styling (I personally have never been a fan, though let's face it, who cares, you're there for the food), I tacked off a half a star for each to 4 for atmosphere.

I was completely surprised at how good this restaurant was and had not heard that before trying it! Wonderful surprise. And it was reasonably crowded but no problem getting a table, loved the atmosphere and food was excellent and comes out fast😎👍

I couldn't be more pleased at trying Choza at Bridgeport Village. First, it's one of only two places I know of in the Portland area that make a margarita as I would expect it in Mexico. One sip of their house marg and I was in Bucerías. Second, their homemade tortillas and chips are delicious. The chips are thin, but they are substantial, and they go perfectly with the smooth blended house salsa of roasted chiles. (The chips were served warm.) Service on a bustling Sunday afternoon was quick and friendly, portions were large, and the decor is charming — someone put this restaurant together with a lot of pride, and it shows. Congratulations, Choza: I won't return to Bridgeport Village without stopping in!

One of our favorite Mexican food places around here. The food usually tastes really fresh made and not very greasy. They have a good assortment of meat and different dishes for those with dietary restrictions. I really love the flavors and spices they have in their meats and dishes. The decor is really nice as well and the restaurant always feels very clean. We love all their different burrito bowls, the tacos are really good, they make excellent Carne Asada as well!

We went on a Saturday evening for dinner. We were told the wait was 20-30 minutes, which was fine but we ended up only waiting 10 minutes. The restaurant is very nice! I love the theme! We were given chips and salsa almost immediately and then waters came almost right after. I did notice on the menu, only the first basket of chips is free. I was a little taken aback by that but once the chips arrived, it made sense to me. The chips are very fresh. I didn't ask but they taste like they are made there in the restaurant and they give you a very large basket of chips so if we needed another basket, it made sense to pay the additional charge, which I think is just a couple of dollars. Now the food, EXCELLENT!! Its very authentic in seasoning and taste. The portions are big. I had enough to take to work for lunch the next day. I think the pictures speak for themselves. The carne asada fries are on the appetizer list of the menu but is portioned like an entree. Our server, Shalea, was great. We had an excellent experience and it was worth every cent. If you're looking for good, authentic, flavorful Mexican food, put Choza at the top of your list!

This place has the best chips. They make their own chips, and they are not to thick. They are nice and thin. I how how when you grab salsa the chip just crumbles really well in your mouth. I loved the food. Good flavor and right on time. This place gets busy and is so getting to the restaurant early is recommended. I love the location , it’s close to the movie theater. But again the chips are the star of the show for me. I have traveled to many places in both the U.S.A and Mexico and these chips are my favorite so far. I can’t praise then enough for getting this just right. Come for the chips and stay for dinner or lunch.

Expensive margaritas, but yummy! Dinner was excellent. I had the 2 enchiladas combo. Chips cost $2.50 for more than 1 basket. I didn't think hot salsa was hot at all.

Everything was amazing...very rich and flavorful food, fantastic chips and flavorful, smoky salsa. Fresh tortillas made in house. I ordered the Chile rellenos and the sauce had an incredibly rich flavor. Great margaritas and service. I couldn't recommend this place more.

Was looking for something reasonably priced to quickly fill a craving and this was the BEST. Our server was very quick to help us and there was practically no wait for our food! The ceviche was full of flavor and our tacos were generously filled.

Awesome chips and salsa and some of the best margs I've ever had. Fernando takes great care of his customers in the bar.

Pretty tasty I have to say. Chips came out warm, which you know that's always a good sign. Salsa had a good roasted flavor. Although I would like it to be a little spicier, it was enough to satisfy those who like heat but not too much for those who can't handle it. First basket is complimentary, then it's $1.50.

Shrimp enchilada was full of shrimp, I got the regular enchiladas and added shrimp cause I wanted the red sauce. But now I wish I would've tried the Enchilada Veracruz. Next time!

We also got tacos...Al Pastor was amazing and had pineapple with it. Love when it's served with pineapple. Carne asada and carnitas were also good. Tacos were a good size and filling.

Strawberry Horchata what? That was amazing. Like strawberry milk with cinnamon.

One of the best Mexican restaurants. Recommend the burrito or bowl with beef barbacoa or pork.

The cilantro rice was a surprise hit, the plate presentation was great. Definitely chef run with flavors texture and preparation. You can taste the quality ingredients.

Even the chips and salsa are tasty, the salsa was house made, good enough to drink.

Plenty of seating with flexibility for larger groups.

My borderline frugal kicked in when they charged $3 for soda water. $17.50 per person for burritos.

Met a client friend here for lunch. The service was great and the food was delicious. I ordered the chicken bowl and found it to be fresh and filling. They have an extensive drink menu that would satisfy just about anyone too. Would recommend this place for lunch anytime.

Shrimp Guacamole Tostada on the appetizer menu was out of this world in taste and texture. It was a whole meal for me. Great service too.

Great experience! Looking for a more upscale Restaurant experience and stumbled upon Choza in Bridgeport. Pleasantly surprised by the quick service. Bowls were fresh and lots of flavor. We ordered shrimp and beef carnitas. Not oily, fried, or salty like most places I’ve been. Mango Margaritas were tasty as well. Will definitely be coming back.

Food was good but what I was really impressed by was the service. Even when packed full the food came swiftly and staff came by often if you had questions or needed anything.
