I have been a client of American Family and Jared Walthard for years. We have home owner's insurance and even pet insurance through Jared. When it came time to renew our commercial insurance, he was upfront and said he could not beat the current rates I was already getting. Jared is very competitive and great to work with. I recently purchased a beautiful house in Tigard and called State Farm, Farmers, and American Family for homeowners coverage. Farmers was double Jared's quote, State Farm was $600 more a year and $3000 more for deductible. Not only is he competitive, he helped me prove to the appraiser that our house is not in a flood zone by sending several hours verifying the elevation study performed by FEMA. This saved me tons of money and hassle. Needless to say - we went with Jared! This is the way you should be treated and businesses should be servicing their customers, it is refreshing! The best insurance service I have ever had. Jami and Jared were so dedicated helping me find the best bang for the buck insurance quote. The process of claim is so smooth and easy. I would recommend them to all who lives nearby and need either auto or renters insurance.

With them for over 6 years, I always worked everything out well with them.

New car and told / had one rate, then it changed (3x the amount) the next month. On top of that, my old car was insured as well.

I have been calling, texting, in app messaging, voicemailing, even going to the location, AND CAN NOT GET AHOLD OF ANYONE. So I got new insurance.... Jared sent my bill to collections, and I have been trying to get ahold of him this whole week, no luck still. I've been to his office 2x this week with no answer (Noone in the office) also.

I would not use him.

I have insurance with J walthard about 5 years after my insurance agent retired ( Jeff was the best always called yearly tried help and details for 22 years we have been with him ) I have never meet J Wathard in person ( he said will stop at my shop say hello and never did) In the past there was few phone calls ( no response) even stop by the office he was not there I never got a connection to my agent and with questions and no answers in the past. More then 3 phone calls leave voicemail…We have 4 policy with this insurance and 27 years with same company America Family insurance ! I will be seeking new agent and moving will stay same company! Over priced and apparently takes collections to cancel coverage. AFI told me they couldn't cancle but could remove my payment method. The shitty thing is the collections lady said this was a common thing that happens. Sounds like a scam to me but ok. I gave the collections lady my current insurance through a different company and the bills stopped coming. Never giving AFI another dime.
