The entire team made us feel heard and made us feel like we were a priority. Toni, the nurse, took her time obtaining the history and clarified the signs/symptoms. Dr. Jacobs was very informative and empathetic with my grandmother's cat. She took the time to explain her problems, present solutions, and ultimately eased the pain she had been experiencing for quite some time. They provided exceptional care.

We are so thankful to Dr. Riensche and staff! Babygirl was so sick when we brought her in with inflammatory bowel disease. They gave us our happy little girl back!

I would like to thank Dr. Church and his staff (especially Dina) from the bottom of my heart for the amazing way they have went way above and beyond to make sure my little Chihuahua Fancy has been given the very best care possible. I had the most awesome visit with Dr Church on the 10th of October and left the office with so much hope and happiness in my heart because of the wonderful visit I had. There was no doom and gloom at all and there just aren't enough kind words in this world to describe how thankful I am to have found such wonderful care for my baby girl. They have hearts of gold and I know now why people come from out o state to take their dogs to Dr. Church. I would give a billion stars if I could.

We have multiple pets and have been going to DVMS for years. We see Dr Riensche and Dr Church and have been impressed with the professionalism of the doctors and staff. The team is very knowledgeable and always treat our pets with love and care. I can’t imagine going anywhere else.

I saw dr Derek Mathews who is incredible! The facility is very nice and clean and modern. Staff is lovely. Wait time wasn’t bad at all. The cardiologist is a traveling vet and glad they could get me in by end of week. I usually saw Dr Church but he was booked out 8 mo and I had to get in Spartacus in 6. I’ll be sticking w Dr Mathews since he’s super thorough! You should see the report! Also, for fu questions he responded same day! How amazing is that? These r my babies and I feel that they’re in very competent hands!

If you are ever in the need of taking your pet to a Cardiologist, I highly recommend this place and Dr Church. He was amazing and so caring. The tech that assisted us today Grace was also amazing! I felt so much better knowing the care my dog will have for her heart condition.

We brought our dog here because our regular vet suggested we see a specialist for our dog's breathing problem. The staff was great. All costs were explained upfront as procedures. Since we had seen several success stories going out the door while we were waiting we were looking forward to relatively good news when we got back 6 hours later. That was not to be. The fates had decreed that our dog was dying of cancer and there was no way to treat it. It was just a question of time. Dr. Riensche could not have been kinder in breaking the news to us or showing us the CT scans showing the tumors killing our baby. Now we are just keeping her comfortable until her time comes.

Unfortunately, we were at the emergency, which ended with us leaving without our beloved dog. However, the staff and Vet, Dr. Sobota, were all professional and offered several options...none jammed down the throat. In an emergency, highly recommend. I've also had appointments with the internal medicine, heart, and dental docs, all very knowledgeable and understanding...nothing here is budget, but expertise comes with a price.

There are lots of options for Vet Services in Arizona…One of the absolute best specialists is Dr. Reinsche at Desert Veterinary specialists. She is great with my dogs and is an excellent practitioner. A couple of my good friends raved about her and their recommendations about this practice were spot on. We are from Canada and upon arrival our cat Andy was not well. We were referred to Desert Veterinary and met Dr. Melissa Riensche. After an MRI, we were advised Andy hadadvanced colon cancer and we had to put him down. It was devasting but Dr. Riensche was so kind, considerate and understanding. The crematorium that they use gave us a lovely wooden urn in a blue velvet case with Andy's information. First class. When we received a Sympathy card at Christmas we thought that was so nice. However, when we received a note from the Phoenix Zoo advising a donation had been made in Andy's name, that was beyond words. What a first class establishment. The staff were all great and Dr. Riensche was so loving throughout. The clinic has definitely gone beyond any expectations we would have thought possible. The Troups.

I have brought numerous pets to Desert Veterinary Specialists. The Ophthalmology was great with our Sr dog and his vision problems.
Dr Reinche in Internal Medicine is awesome. Recently had our dog at the ER on site and they took great care of him. The Cardiologist dept and Stephanie in scheduling made it a priority to get our dog into see a Dr asap even with a booked schedule.
All of the depts and Drs here are amazing. They go above and beyond year after... year after... year for us and our pets. Really grateful for them.

5 months after losing my almost 13 yr old Bulldog; a breeder friend of mine reached out to me about a litter that endured a horrible beginning to life. The surviving girls all had heart murmurs which were said to have been innocent and would grow out of it.
Because my girl didn’t and still had hers at 7 months old, we were referred to DVMS, to see the Cardiologist and get an echocardiogram done.
We were initially seen in the Scottsdale clinic as it was the first opening they had and I wanted to make sure she got in and was able to get seen and established. For her 9-12 month follow up, I opted to go to the Gilbert clinic since it is the closest to us.
We had nothing but great experiences at both offices. I will say, our appt with Dr. Church was more in depth, with him really taking the time to go over her echo, and our next steps. My only regret was not being able to get her into him from the get-go. Needless to say was he was definitely worth the wait. Which we already knew as he diagnosed one of our Shepherds years ago when he was in heart failure.
While I’m hoping her next echo goes as we are hoping and her congenital heart defect and heart do what he suspects will do, and our appts with him will be short lived. But, if they aren’t… I have zero hesitation with having to take my girl to see him for her echos as his knowledge and expertise hands down amazing.

Super friendly staff and Dr. Church is fabulous. He is easy to communicate with and knows everything there is to know about heart health. I drive 6 hours one way once a year for heart checks, and it's well worth the drive.

We were extremely grateful that our pup was able to seen by Dr. Church so quickly. He came highly recommended by 3 facilities in Tucson. It was well worth the trip to the Gilbert office. Our pup is suffering from Congestive Heart Failure and hasn't been responding well to treatment. Dr. Church provided a treatment plan that has been working exceptionally well. We will definitely recommend the facility to our friends and family.

We think highly of Desert Veterinary Medical Specialists. Barney has been a patient for several years. Recently worsening, Dr. Church gave us news we didn't want to hear, but that we are very fortunate to have. It will assist us in caring for our sweet Barney in the best way possible. We drive 3.5 hours one way to see Dr. Church. Dr. Church, as well as all of the staff at DVMS, present a professional yet caring attitude. We feel as if we were thoroughly informed at each step of the appointment. Though we did miss the face-to-face discussion with Dr. Church regarding his findings, we very much appreciate the steps taken to lessen risks during this difficult pandemic. Again, we were happy with the service we received from all involved.

I took my chihuahua Pretzel here for about 3 years. His condition started as a vibration in his chest known as a "palpable thrill" and was short of breath. I took my baby to Dr. Church who diagnosed and treated him for heart valve disease. Pretzel's condition improved significantly and I know he lived as long as he did because of the care he received by Dr. Church and his staff. The whole office is warm and compassionate. Any time I need anything I know I can call the office and they will help me and respond timely to my messages. Dr. Church is booked up for weeks sometimes and I make sure to keep my appointments because he is very busy and worth the wait. I thought Pretzel's heart would take him but it was his arthritis that caused him pain and suffering in the end. I appreciate all the times Dr. Church sat down and talked to me about the best course of action for Pretzel so he could live his best life. I highly recommend if you are looking for an excellent and caring vet cardiologist.

I was very upset upon arrival, still upset today. At first I was mad but saw how caring of a staff is there. My heart goes out to everyone that works there with the biggest hug. I lost my Murphy, they did the best anyone could with taking the time and care of me, it was a heartbreaking decision but he is in a better place and no longer in pain. Thank you again for everything that was done, this is very hard for me, they did the best at comforting my baby and myself.

Dr Church is the best. My sweet girl has CHF and he's really helped keep her alive and has made us understand what she's up against. His staff is kind and helpful as well. Great experience and not outrageously expensive.

I drove up from sierra vista to get my dogs heart looked at and I'm glad I did. The place was very welcoming and clean. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The doctor was awesome. She did a great job and took the time to show me everything and explain everything to me. I highly reccomend this place.

I Want to APPLAUD Dina and Dr. Pelio for taking care of our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (Luce) today for her cardiology appointment. Their professionalism is absolutely the best, as is their caring, kind and compassionate ways. This is our 2nd cavalier to be under the care of Desert Veterinary Medical Specialists group, and we know Luce will get the same great veterinary skill and attention that Hudson did.

Dr. Pelio's very gentle way definitely puts a worried pet parent at ease, with complete explanations and plenty of time to ask questions. Even time for viewing a picture of his lovely Pomeranian pup. Dina's follow through is always right on.
