As a former employee it has been an incredibly rewarding experience that has significantly contributed to my professional and personal growth. From day one, I was welcomed into a supportive and collaborative team environment where everyone is passionate about providing exceptional care and support to our patients. The hospital's commitment to evidence-based practices and continuous learning has enabled me to enhance my skills and knowledge in the field of behavioral health.

The management team is truly commendable for their open-door policy and willingness to listen to employee feedback. They consistently strive to improve the workplace and ensure that the staff are equipped with the necessary resources to perform their roles effectively. This proactive approach to addressing challenges and fostering a positive work culture has made a significant impact on both employee satisfaction and patient outcomes.

Moreover, the hospital's dedication to patient-centered care is evident in every aspect of its operations. It's inspiring to work in an environment where the well-being of the patients is the top priority, and every team member is committed to making a positive difference in their lives. The multidisciplinary approach to treatment ensures that patients receive comprehensive care tailored to their individual needs.

I would highly recommend this hospital as a place of employment for those looking to make a meaningful impact in the field and as a premier choice for individuals seeking compassionate and effective behavioral health care.

So far so well. My teen son has been admitted for two days now and he seems to be doing well. Intake can take HOURS so be very prepared. I had work at 5 pm we came in at 2:45 and I had to ask for them to rush a little and got out of there at 5:15. I believe it would have been much longer. Everyone we interacted with was for the most part professional. Communication is very good and I have gotten a call from staff at least twice a day. My son can call whenever he is not in group and it’s just a blessing to get him the help he needs.

I was admitted to the Inpatient program for depression and suicidal thoughts. I spent a week in the facility where my needs were met by a number of great staff members. I learned a lot about myself and was given necessary tools to help me cope outside of the hospital. The group setting allowed me to connect with others going through similar experiences. Overall, Aurora has exceeded my expectations and I recommend them to anyone who is struggling and in need of help.

After my initial assessment, I was sent home with an hour worth of paperwork to fill out...showed up at what I thought was 15 minutes early for my 4pm appointment only to realize I was told to come an hour early just n case I didn't get my paperwork done correctly...so my appointment was really at 5p.... I sat there an hour and 15 minutes only to discover that someone there hadn't completed their paperwork on me to determine how much I had to pay so instead of the director allowing me to sit n on a session he suggested I leave until my $64 x 3xs a week payment got figured out...I gave them their folder back and cried alllllll the way home...way to go Director...and way to knock me back down the mental illness hole of finances...

Update: Aurora reached out to me to come back, as there was an error on their end regarding my payment. I went back intending to let them have it but was instead met and embraced with warmth and care...I decided to return to Aurora for my treatments and am forever blessed to have been able to, as my group therapy sessions, along with my group therapist was awesome, and exactly what I needed, and the best part is on a day that my group therapist was absent, the Director was his substitute. I was reluctant to show up because of the bad taste in my mouth from our first encounter...especially since my car was in need of repair so I really couldn't be there, so I called to explain my car wasn't working. Instead of allowing me to back out on this day, the Director arranged for a round trip Uber in order for me to not miss my session and then he proceeded to work our 3 hour group therapy with such care and understanding...an understanding that I thought he could never have, so I am forever grateful for being placed in a position where I had no choice but to face this man again. I felt a need to add to my review because Aurora made it right and I was able to graduate from this IOP group therapy feeling much better than when I first arrived...going forward, I would refer Aurora Behavioral Health to any one in need of an IOP group therapy @ 3xs a week @3 hours a day!!  AURORA BEHAVIORAL ROCKS, and instead of 1 star, I have changed it to reflect 5 stars.

The presentation was perfect for many reasons. 1. The presenter is very knowledgeable to the topic. 2. The material is very useful and applicable to many clinical settings. 3. It is a topic that is very sensitive and stigmatized but the presenter was very positive and encouraging about discussing it and gave us proper guideline on how to do so. 4. It is full of cultural sensitive information that fits many different demographics and population. Wonderful presentation and will continue to support workshops as such.

My daughter is doing well, thanks to the adolescent staff at Aurora in Tempe. Before she went in there she was in a dark place and had a major suicide attempt. They took her in with loving arms and she said the staff was amazing, specifically Amanda, Simon, Denise, Desiree, and Sid. There was one BHT that set off a lot of kids due to a certain incident that happened when the tech had slammed a clipboard on the window when the Sedona and Coyote unit were communicating through the window, the techs name was Letty/Litty. Another situation including her was when the cottonwood and Sedona unit were communicating through notes she had seen a note being passed. She had ran out the door yelling and had called a young man "ginger" in a very rude tone of voice, this comment was uncalled for. Other than that my daughter said she had a great time there and actually learned a lot from the group therapy and got the help she deserved and needed. The social worked Tohanna was incredible and gave us so many resources and I think we found an outpatient clinic that can see us through from here. Thank you so much, from the bottom of our hearts. Couldn't have asked for a better stay for her. Thank you.

I was hospitalized here for a week due to MMD (Major Depressive Disorder) and Suicidal ideations. Aurora took great care of me and everyone in my unit. most people that end up there are actually quite nice when you get to know them. The nurses and techs where all extremely professional and kind hearted. There was only one tech who had a bit of a superiority complex but after I spoke to my therapist about it, never saw that dude again. There are lots of safety measures taken throughout the whole facility and things are basically "Baby-Proofed" which isn't a bad thing at all considering why some people have to go here.

In terms of how things work think of it like high school or middle school. Days are broken down into "periods" or time slots. There should be a detailed list in your unit that shows you the schedule for any given day of the week. going to these group events is voluntary and you don't have to participate if you don't want to. That being said I highly recommend you do. As the group activities range from learning coping skills like mindfulness. To doing things like hanging out with a puppy they bring or even horses. They also have an art room where you can make music or crafts and even do poetry. There is also a gym which is a half court basketball court. It has all kinds of sports balls and a small amount of weight lifting equipment like small dumbbells and such.

A normal day is constructed like this:
- Wake up, Hygiene, and Vitals
- Free time/Pills
- Breakfast
- Free time
- Social Worker group
- Adjunctive Therapy (The art room stuff)
- Free time
- Lunch
- Gym
- Social Worker group
- Free time
- Dinner
- Free time/Pills
- Bedtime

In terms of the food at Aurora it is not half bad. I liked these specially seasoned potatoes they had the most. It is all served Cafeteria style and you can choose what you do or do not want on your plate. Additionally you also can straight up substitute a meal for the day with a small list of other items they can make you if the scheduled meal or up coming meals do not fit your appetite or diet. The meal schedule is found right beneath the daily schedule. The hospital itself is broken up into six units, two of which are exclusively for adolescents. Everything is also separated by locked doors and you will almost never see another unit unless it is meal time this is by design for safety purposes. Most units have around twenty patients at a time mine only had ten due to under staffing.

Overall, Aurora is a good place to go if you are experience any mental issues or addiction. You will be well taken care of and treated correctly. If any issues with Nurses or Techs arise don't hesitate to bring it up to your Doc or therapist when you meet with them. Same thing with other patients issues with them can be brought up too. I hope for obvious reasons I never half to go to Aurora again. But if I do have a bit of a mental breakdown I will refuse to go anywhere but here. Last thing, if you are going through any serious issues mentally or are struggling with addiction, get help. Even if not at Aurora get the help you need. It is ok to ask for help and you do matter.

Amazing folk who are so really super nice. Without them am not sure where this place would be? Seeing that it’s a psychiatric & detox facility, therefore those whom are admitted are generally goin through some things, I really don’t know how in the world they receive any stars or decent reviews. Anyways, they make detoxing for me very comfortable and are always there for me. It is what you make it though and unfortunately for me I wind up relapsing right away when I get out. I just hope that I meet the criteria to be admitted again for the help I need & furtherMore; I pray 🙏 that this third time be my charm, that I make it past detox into placement. My life truly requires a new chapter & I just know that in the absence of drugs my life is sure to change.

Went in for alcohol/substance abuse as well as depression. The environment was welcoming when I first got there and the staff were extremely friendly and attentive to your needs (there were some times I had to ask more than once for things, but I understand they have lots on their plate they can be forgetful of the small things). The meals were amazing not gonna lie and they feed you 3 full meals plus snacks in between per day. People often have bad things to say about the councillors because they feel like what they're teaching isn't relevant to them- my suggestion: go to all of them, it keeps you busy and you WILL get a piece of information that you relate to and will resonate in you. All the councilors are very nice yet firm out of respect for the rest of the class when someone is acting out. Seriously don't know why this place has 2.6 stars, even my whole group (#Octillio)! and I would discuss how great everything was inside the facility. 10/10 would relapse just to check-in again lol (a little humor, please by all means do NOT relapse). You can do it! 3months clean now, thank you Aurora

Just attended a webinar on Eating Disorders. I am so thankful I did because it was one of the best I have attended. The knowledge , compassion and commitment to treat the whole person, that’s what we need in this field. Hope to use what I learned in my work. Thank you so much.

I was at Oasis for three days and was like prison. A week later I ended up in hospital again but this time it was Aurora, Thank goodness! Staff seriously engaged! Techs, nurses, and Doctors. Structure very nice and case workers really cared. They saved my life from being a Marine with Serious PTSD who finally could not deal with life anymore. I appreciate the fair treatment and the professional expertises I received! Oh yeah food and snacks were very good.learned a lot in the groups but better control over others who take it as a joke would be helpful.

I'm about to graduate from the IOP program for emerging young adults and it's been a life changing experience. The staff have been very friendly and professional and my group therapist is amazing! Aurora was my last hope when I walked in for the first time two months ago. I felt so lost and alone, ready to give up. Now, I feel like I have a future- something to look forward to and I can't begin to explain how thankful I am for them and what they done for me.
