Treasure has braided my 7 year olds hair twice now. She is excellent with children and her style is perfect for the summer. She is professional and provides excellent service and hair care advice. We will definitely be back!

Message from AZ Summer Stylez
Addressing Ms. A Rich (Alisa)

Hi Alisa, I’m sorry to see you are so unsatisfied with the services on our last weeks appointments. As a business owner who’s been servicing Arizona alone for over 15 years I’m aware that every client can’t be satisfied. Having a negative review does affect my 5 star profile so I will address the issue.
To address your issues I will say that after doing your hair multiple times it did get quite complicated. I haven’t offered in-home appointments in years. When you reached out to me I denied your request immediately because I felt it would end up this way. However you do live down the street from my in-home salon in Maricopa and I will do what I can to help the ones in this small community. I enjoy servicing my Chandler salon clients but I truly try to make it convenient for my new Maricopa clients as well who don’t prefer to travel.

Although I still don’t do travel appointments (to clients homes) after all these years.
In this case, I spoke to you about your hair because it was matted in to a ball for almost a year you said. Clients request matting services from time to time but you refused to leave your home from embarrassment and said you’ve been in home working 3 computer jobs for sometime. The 1st and 2nd time I did come to you and service you but I had stay for multiple hours (even longer than scheduled) to try to save your hair. We eventually had to cut it and save what we could to make you more presentable. We went for a sew-in weave the second time and honestly I thought that would be enough confidence for you to come out but then you started expressing your weight issues and your work schedule. I offered you a regular in-salon appointment from the in-home salon at home and talked you into coming in. You worked the entire time from your computer and kept shhhing me (which I ignored). I have no problem with you. You wanted another home appointment after that although I told you I need to be at the salon due to having two kids that are home schooled on site.
I declined. After feeling like you were still unsatisfied that day I said well it’s ok if you really don’t like coming outside.. and I said we can come to you if you’d like. You agreed. When I got there your dogs started barking fiercely ( the 3 huskies) and you said it would be impossible for you to work from home under these conditions. Ms. Alisa, I understand you work 24/7 as you say …..but you can’t work through every hair appointment. I already put you on the book manually on days that weren’t available to the public to fit into your tight schedule.
When I left your home I told you we could just do your hair for your surgery at the salon down the street in salon.. I told you to text me. But surprisingly you decided to request your deposit and come to google to review. As a business owner it’s very hard to meet clients half way. I understood your hair situation and your weight situation made you feel uncomfortable to come out but you can’t call me unprofessional when I offered you a reschedule 2X before your surgery and you never came to the salon. I hope you all the well. You live right down the street and I hope you find someone who can come to you and give you the attention you need for your hair. Much peace and love 💕

I have had Treasure do my hair a total of three times: the first was a big chop to get rid of some damaged, tangled hair, the second was my first set of box braids and the third was a dutch braid style that lasted about 2 weeks. I was pleased with these services (although the Dutch braid appointment was pushed back at her request from 10:30 that morning to 1:30 that afternoon…but it was no big deal, I obliged).

The issue I have with Treasure is her professionalism…or rather, lack thereof. I’d booked a 4th appointment with Treasure to get box braids before a surgery. I was to go to her house (as I had done the previous time) and I had my hair and everything ready to go. She messages me a few hours prior asking me to wire her $25 for hair products (which is odd for a stylist to ask), but I told her I had my own and could just bring what I had, which she said was fine. Then a few hours later she messages me that she’s going to come to my house instead…I had gotten some new furniture in and wasn’t really keen on company because I was awaiting a bulk trash pick-up, but I obliged and told her not to mind the mess. My appointment was for 1 p.m., but she arrived at 1:30 p.m…with 2 of her smallest kids that she NEVER asked me about bringing along (WHO does that?! If she had asked, I would’ve said no. My house is not child-friendly; I have too many antiques and pointy objects about and I have large dogs that I don’t know how they’d respond to children because they’ve never been around them). The first thing I said when I opened the door was that my house isn’t kid friendly, which she dismissed and chuckled off; she’d brought them food and drinks as if this was some sort of friendly gathering rather than a professional appointment. She figured that they could play with my 3 dogs (again, I ask, WHO does that?! Who would be comfortable allowing 3 large dogs play with their kids whom, again, they’ve NEVER MET, essentially unsupervised? God forbid, if anything had happened, it’d be my dogs demonized and possibly euthanized for irresponsible adult behavior), which I was not comfortable with seeing as how I could not supervise the interaction (in the midst of getting my hair braided) and she wouldn’t be focused on the interaction either (because she’d be doing my hair). My dogs (whom I’d crated because I didn’t want them jumping all over her while she was doing my hair) barked LOUDLY at her kids to the point we couldn’t even hear each other and I said this wasn’t going to work. She did not offer to do my hair at her house (as originally planned) and said she’d text me to re-schedule (which she did, a few hours later), but I told her this was the only time I had because of my surgery in a few days and other things I had to do.

I told her I wanted a refund due to the fact that the reason my hair wasn’t done is because of
HER bringing HER kids–unexpected and uninvited–to MY home for MY appointment; if not for that, the appointment would have gone through like normal…yet she still refuses to issue a refund (even though I was a good client and tipped WELL for each appointment…but I suppose an immediate, unearned $50 is more favorable than a steady client).

Long story short, if you want to take a gamble on a kitchen stylist whose whims you'll have to bend to (but you’ll probably be pleased with her work if she does it), book with Treasure. If you want quality work AND a professional experience, go to an actual salon where the stylist won’t bilk you out of your deposit, change the venue every other appointment or use your home as a free daycare center.
