Ernestos Mexican Cuisine

Great place for a quick lunch or for a dinner date.
The dishes seem to be a step up from a lot of similar restaurants, there's really not a bad item on the menu, the staff is always friendly, and it's just a nice place to enjoy a meal with friends and family. This one is a regular stop for us on a Friday night or a Sunday lunch.

Finally tried this place after my mom's recommendation, and it did not disappoint! The service was friendly and efficient. Food came out SO fast. The chips were warm, salsa fresh and actually had onion chunks. I had mole enchiladas which were great, but the plantains and black beans & rice were also amazing and rounded out the meal. My hubby loved his fajita burrito covered in cheese. He thought it was the best Mexican spot we've tried around Louisville/Buckner/Madison IN. We'll certainly be back! (Also loved the margs- not overly sweet like most places!)

We stopped for lunch on the way home from a distillery tour. This street has cute shops and it’s a fun walk. The restaurant was clean and bright. Our server was friendly and attentive. The food tasted great! It’s a typical Mexican restaurant menu with a few surprises. My shrimp was delicious! There is a train that comes through so park on a side street to avoid being possibly stuck.

Very good food and friendly service! Ask for the drink specials because they are not listed on the menu. Definitely worth 5 stars.

The food and service are always excellent! Sometimes when you dine in here, you may get a close up view of the most exciting thing in La Grange - the train!! Seriously, though. Great drinks, great food, friendly, excellent service. What more could you want? And the town is super cute! Worth a visit!

We have had Ernesto’s many times for take out but never been in to sit an eat. This past weekend we went in an it was great. They were not busy so we got right in. Customer service was great and food was out fast. It was made perfect an everything tasted amazing

This was our first experience at Ernesto’s and it did not disappoint! It was packed and the service was still great. Friendly, welcoming, good authentic food. We will be back to try more items. I had the Enchiladas Rojas with a chicken, cheese and beef enchilada - the little taco salad bowl was a nice surprise. The salsa was also good. We will be back and maybe enjoy their cute patio space next time!

La Grange itself is pretty unique; the downtown has a train track that runs straight through it! It was honestly a romantic punctuation to my fantastic dinner.

The plates were tasty, the food wasn't especially unique but it was very delicious, and delivered on time and piping hot. Standouts for me were; the guacamole and the spicy margaritas!

The restaurant was surprisingly spacious and the noise level was low, making this a go-to place for people who may suffer from sensory issues. Very calm and welcoming environment, and our server was very inviting and attentive.

The food here was not only beautiful, but outstanding. I had a burrito with a green sauce that was so unique, it tasted amazing. My partner had a burrito that came with a chip bowl of vegetables. My partner's father had the shrimp, chicken, and steak tacos, and they looked unlike any taco I had ever seen. Food was a bit pricey but they use high-quality ingredients.

I had a great lunch here and I want to come back soon!

Such a cute place.. Margaritas are good and the food is great! They have a patio in the back, which is cute, too! I would definitely recommend Ernesto’s!

We took the family tonight and it was so good! The food servings were big and the price was fair!

The kids meals were actually really good and I snagged a bit of my daughters chicken tender to test it and it tasted great! My son loved his hot dog!

I got the Chicken Fajita Quesadilla and it was out of this world! It came with rice, and beans on the side as well as some sour cream and some extras.

It was LARGE!! I could not finish it all!

My wife enjoyed her chicken nachos and had enough leftover to bring some home.

This was our first time here in a LONG time but will be back more often for sure!

The place was very clean and bathrooms well lit.

Large group event put together quickly. For the time constraints and situation, feels as if they did a good job. The open taco buffet style table had all kinds of choices to make what you wanted.

Really good! Better than 90% of the Mexican restaurants I’ve visited in Kentucky and Indiana. Its very friendly with a lively local crowd. They were also remarkably fas.

Sooooo delicious! I had their Burrito and it was so good! It was smothered in the yummiest queso sauce! They were also so happy and helpful and nice! Great atmosphere! Definitely will be coming back!

We stumbled onto Ernesto’s a couple weeks ago and have now eaten here twice since then. On both occasions the food has been very good quality and served promptly. Service and atmosphere is very friendly and much more personal/cordial than other similar restaurants in the area. Whenever we’re craving authentic Mexican fare, we’ll be making a little further drive and coming to Ernesto’s.

I had a chicken taco salad. It was one of the best I have had. Everything in it tasted fresh. The chicken was nicely seasoned.

Everything was so good!! Fresh salsa, hot tortilla chips, and a great steak burrito. Plus the kids meal look great! All around great food and fast nice service.

The food is absolutely fantastic! The shrimp empanadas are very tasty! The guacamole has chunks of avocados and a pleasant surprise of lime! I ordered an extra one to take home! The service was really really good. Everybody is so friendly! That is the best Mexican food I’ve had in a very long time!!!!

Had some absolutely FANTASTIC chile colorado here. This restaurant understands flavor, presentation, and quality. They don't make the all-too-common mistake of overloading you with food that you feel hopeless to finish - between the entree and the sides I found the portions to be very well balanced. After the chips and salsa, my meal, and the 2 large glasses of iced tea that I chugged because of the tongue fire caused by the salsa, I left the restaurant completely full and satisfied. The food is authentic and the service is great. Will 100% be back again!!!
